  1. Then, is he ever going to be well enough to enjoy the purchase? It sounds from your description that he's in very bad condition. I would just have the shop send it back and get a refund for him.
  2. Ok, I have to take a one way bus trip to Cincy Friday. Anyone know if carrying is a go/no go on Greyhound? I know we have reciprocity with Ohio; I'm just concerned about the check-in, detectors, etc.
  3. I chose Toby and Clint because Clint's a friend. Don't know Toby...
  4. A couple years ago. The shop called me on my cell after I'd left; TBI called them and apologized, they had accidentally typed in one wrong digit on my SS#. Shop guy said come back and get my gun.
  5. I NEVER go to the mall... go figure...
  6. 33% here... how'd THAT happen??
  7. Thank you; I seem to be unusually thick today... ok, ok, it's not unusual...
  8. ? Error while attempting to log out... wtf?

Back on topic; LB, let us know what they say, when it gets back, etc. I'm curious... after all, I started this thread...

What?? I'm going to believe you made a mistake typing that; the way I read that says if you can't hit your target with a .45, you just suck and can't hit it with anything... if I'm misunderstanding that, please clarify. Harold is a really, really good guy, tough as nails. His daughter Jennifer used to babysit my kids. I remember the day we were talking about the shooting; he opened his shirt, and man. What a mass of scars on his torso. He counted each one for me. Then he smiled that big, toothy grin of his, and told me all he had behind the counter was a ball bat. He told me, "I'm here. He ain't." Service calibers have a much better probability of doing the job; that's why they're service calibers. ANY caliber is capable of doing the job, however.
  11. Ken Curtis was the guy that replaced Frank Sinatra with Tommy Dorsey. Great singer.

Common sense would tell you that, as well. I just think it's sheer testosterone rush when someone argues that a "non service caliber" can't do the job. It's also an asinine question to ask, "So, what caliber would you be ok being shot with?" so I won't ask it. They ALL WORK; a .45 in the leg will not be as effective as a .22 in the eye socket.

It's simple shot placement, not physics. A friend of mine, Harold Teague, was running a market, the midnight shift. Harold will gladly show you the scars from eight .45 rounds that hit him. He still beat the robber to death with a baseball bat. A .380 in Harold's head would have probably made it end differently.
  14. Paint the tips of your toys orange! Go Vols! (Huh??)

Awful lot of bodies in the ground that disagree with you.
  16. The "Green Police;" I thought the Nazi's were called brown shirts because of the brown uniforms. I had never heard the green uniform reference before...?
  17. Personally, I think that's one of the funniest posts of all time! pitt, you ROCK!!!
  18. He also used "your" instead of "you're." (Sorry, I just had to... ) For all the folks that have spelled grammar "grammer" in this thread... shame on you. I love that!! I'm definitely going to borrow it... but it should have been "have a tendency," not "has a tendency." Reference to two subjects requires "have." One of the things that gets me is when people say, "Try and..." It's "Try to..." If you're going to "Try and do" something, just do it! (EDIT: pitt, apparently you were typing at the same time I was. Slack given by me, considering the circumstance!)
  19. Hmmm... maybe the Saints should lose tomorrow...
  20. Be sure to paint the tip of that dick orange, son!
  21. When in doubt, just leave it at home... jeez, what an unusual situation...
  22. I kinda feel that same way... but they've never been there. And from what I understand, they would never survive the Army trials. The old 1911's and Beretta M9's were unstoppable. Can't remember where I read that info...
  23. That's not a chimney. That's a cockney.
  24. Am I the only one that looks simply at this... am I crazy? I think the reason POTUS wants these guys in our civil system is because in a military tribunal, IF they get the death penalty, HE would have to sign the order... and regardless of where he went to church in Chicago or anywhere else... his childhood was ingrained in Islam... and for him to sign a death warrant for another Muslim is a no-no... so by putting it in civil court, he avoids that situation? Does that make sense... or am I a moonbat?
  25. My doc carries. No biggie; most of them do, I believe. That's why only the "feel good" signs are posted for the panickers.
