Kenstaroni... when you shoot the LCR... try not grabbing it all the way up to the top of the grip, as you would a conventional snub. The soft, cushioning part is in the ribbed oval area just below that. Let the web of your hand rest there, and you will find it most pleasant to shoot.

What I "know"... 4th gen has the new rough texture grip; cool, but I'm so-so on it. All Glocks function the same, mechanically; it's just a size difference. Don't know about compensated, never tried one. Personally, I don't like the 21-36 variants. Haven't tried a 30. The 21 is too big for my hand, the 36 is too small for the .45 round, IMO only. There was a run of Glocks that had the rails put in incorrectly, and recalled. Don't remember the serial # range, but I did have one.

All the pastels and circles and... cartoony looking things. It's ok... I'll get used to it. Remember, I'm the guy that likes a basic 1911 as opposed to a bells and whistles type? Functions are good; but they were with the old version, too.

I'm really trying to like this; I really am. I know a lot of work went into it... it just looks like Teletubbies drew it with Crayolas. It stinks. Oh, well... who cares.

Not at all. It's very manageable. The secret is not grabbing as high up as you would a regular snubbie. The cushioning part of the backstrap is where the oval is; if you put the web of the hand down there, it's very pleasant to shoot. If you go all the way up to the top of the rubber grip, where it's hard as a rock, ouch.
