  1. Why am I just happy, not "jumping up and down" happy?
  2. Alternatively, buy a Glock... (Sorry, I just HAD to!)
  3. Me, too. Early this morning, in just a few minutes...

    Alloy 1911?

Colt's original intro of the Commander (1952?) was an alloy frame. After a while, they brought out a steel frame version, calling it the Combat Commander. People started getting them confused, so they started calling the original model the Lightweight Commander. Weird, huh? I've never seen any issues with frame degradation, but have heard stories that it can happen. I had a '60's era LW, and had zero problems with it. Probably would still have it, if I hadn't moved away from the 1911...

    Carbine Question

Kel-Tec Sub2000, Glock, 9mm. Uses the 33 rd "happy sticks," as well. They rock.
  6. I knew some of you guys would know; many thanks...
  7. There is no "conforming language" requirement anymore, IF I understand the new regs passed. They can pretty much scrawl it in crayon, and it's legal... correct me if I'm wrong, please?
  8. Billionaire George Soros surrenders - English pravda.ru
  9. Made somewhere around 1917. US PROP ground off, not unusual. The plating absolutely ruins the value. Such a pity. It's just a pimp shooter. Personally, I wouldn't buy it, but if I had to make him an offer... I'd offer him $500 tops. I'd probably go $400.
  10. From Walter Cronkite to Jon Stewart. The statements that makes on all levels of our national intelligence/perception are astounding.
  11. Ooooooohhhh, babee...........!!
  12. May the Schwartz be with you! Actually, they are different. The Schwartz safety was connected to the action of the grip safety; the Series 80 style is part of the trigger assembly. Schwartz, bad; breaks and really screws things up. Series 80, not so bad at all.
  13. Yeah... the 225 is a slim single stack, small 9. I know that wouldn't fit. Forgot about the 220 9's...
  14. Where's the love? Did she beat you as a kid??
  15. SIG-ophiles... is there a 9mm model of SIG that has the same frame profile as the P220 .45? Wondering about holster fit... molded kydex holster fit, actually... like the Glock 17, 19, and 36 are all the same size...
  16. Search brought up a lot of sources; one, to whit: Jefferson Review » THANK GOD FOR BARACK OBAMA
  17. Don't carry a "baby." (Not that that is one; it's fine.) But carry a reliable workhorse that you ain't gonna be picky about. If you carry a showpiece, you'll probably not have it when you need it.
  18. Yes.
  19. Mike, on a good day...
  20. Key part of that phrase.
  21. Wow. So, now I agree with 85 year olds? Does that mean I'm wiser, or he's losin' it?
  22. What a great band name... Bleeding Nips. Love it.
  23. I had a full size bull for a while. I liked it, except that the rear sight just kept unscrewing itself and falling off while shooting. Got rid of it and really like the Ruger MKII.
  24. Ok, so now that my coffee went places it wasn't designed for... lol! Thanks, Punisher!!
