  1. I'd be more concerned about the blood...
  2. Uh... actually... that IS correct. When my Marine came home from boot, they had told him, "If you have anyone at home that knows anything about shooting, they've likely told you to use the first pad of your finger on the trigger. Forget that. Use the second pad. That's the part of your finger that goes straight back." He wound up shooting expert, 500 yd head shots, with iron sights, with his finger placed as in the pic above. I started doing it; I mean, who knows how to shoot better than a Marine? Tightened my groups immensely, immediately. Try it. You won't go back.
  3. Fondled one at Hendersonville G&L a couple hours ago. As the regular M&P line is the Massachusetts Glock, this is the Massachusetts Walther. It is identical (save for style differences) to a PPS. Same dimensions, capacity... Come to think of it... the PPS says "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MA" on the slide... good ideas do seem to come out of Der Fatherland and vicinity...
  4. Threat was over. Therein is the issue, with just the info in this thread. I don't think any self defense shoot in TN is going to go well if there's a shot in the back involved, IIRC my class from 12 years ago. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. Snake shot's only good to about 10 feet...
  6. NOT a Bullet Bunker.
  7. Sounds like you need to drop the "p" from your name...
  8. This looks pretty interesting... http://www.thebulletbunker.com/
  9. I did go with the Walther PPS, the rare OD green one, courtesy of our friends at G&L. Most awesome. The ads say, "Slim. Powerful. Attractive." Everything I am NOT. I plan on living my life vicariously through it.
  10. Hovering carpenter bee + .38 snake shot = AWESOME!!!!!!
  11. Lester Flatt: "How 'bout that, Paul? She'll swallow a ----, but she won't eat her onions." (Hamburgers on the bus after the "festivities.")
  12. It is the biggest job in a band. The bassist is the ONLY one who has to be absolutely correct on every downbeat. The rest of us can manage to fudge a bit, but if the bass is wrong... the whole band is. So, she really did get the most important guy. Just didn't know it.
  13. http://www.thescoopnews.com/news/briefs/339/groupie-accidentally-sleeps-with-bass-player#.T4mmeA45VQ3.facebook
  14. Do this often??
  15. Ah. "Dirty Larry." Got it.
  16. Perhaps a small revolver?
  17. Walther PPS. The way to go for a pocketable 9mm.
  18. Search missed a lot: I posted this several days ago.
  19. Just where my work takes me... George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Mel Tillis, ORB, Linda Ronstadt, Frankie Lane, George Burns, Bernadette Peters, Reagan, Carter... and hundreds more...
  20. "Goober" has had some serious health issues of late.
  21. Yeah, Fred used to come to church with Lorrie Morgan (back when we went to St. Joe's in Madison). Very imposing stature. I still think he would have been a good president; guess he just didn't have the "want it" bad enough.
