  1. I may have the problem with the mil crimp.  I will check closer for that, I have that problem with 9mm on the wcc stamp and I have to sort them out before reloading.   Thanks
  2. I know about SPP, I reload both, just having a problem with the winchester's.
  3. Wonder if anyone else is having a problem with Remington primers not seating with Winchester .45ACP brass. I have a lee loadmaster press, and purchased some once-fired brass mixed headstamps.  I picked up a couple of hundred Remington LPP from a local dealer.  Out of a 100 shells loaded, I have about 10 without primers.  Any suggestions? or comments?
  4. Thanks Leroy,   I upped the powder and they are doing well, I shot at 30' without tumbling.  Tonight I will try 40' and see how they do.  Most of you are very helpful and once again thanks for the advise.   I use small primers because I purchased 500 brass cases that uses small primers (I have 4,000 CCI small pistol primers).  Also, I have been shooting Federal and they use small primers which I will recycle.
  5. Kirt, I must be really messing up.  I did up the power to max load and with the same targets the keyhole is gone.
  6. I would prefer HP-38 to load my 9mm and .45 but as we all know we have to take what is available.  VV N310 is the only powder I could find within a 40 mile radius of home.  I did up the charge and they did better at the range this morning.  Hopefully I will try another few tomorrow.
  7. I am using a Glock 21 with a 4.5" barrel, I am using a TMJ Hornady 230 gn bullet.  I clean my gun after every shoot (brush) and once every 5 or 6 shoots with a barrel cleaner (Billistol).  They don't seem to tumble as much once I upped the powder from 3.8gn to 4.1gn.  Thanks,
  8. To answer all the above stuff:  I am using Hornady 230 gr RN-FMJ, VV N310 powder at 4.1gr with small primers.   Yes the bullets are leaving a keyhole sideways, not up and down.   I am not using a suppressor.   "Boolit" not sure what this means? (Just looked up "Boolit", no I do not cast my own bullets, always an education in TN gun owners)
  9. First off I want to thank everyone who offered comments on "non-firing" reloads and it corrected the problem.  The current problem:  I am reloading .45 ACP with 4.1g of vv310 with cci primer.  At 30' some of the bullets seem to tumble.  I am using a four die set with a Lee loadmaster re-loader and have backed off the bullet seat slightly so I can catch the shell part with my fingernail.  Out of a Glock 21, any suggestions?
  10. I appreciate the help.
  11. I have a three die set for my 9mm (Lee Load-Master)  I have loaded several thousands round without a problem.   I purchased a four die set for my 45 auto and it is not a crimping problem, I was using the minimum load for the power and it just too light of a load.  Since I fixed my primer problem, I have gone to a load between the minimum and maximum suggested and will let you know how it goes.  I plan on shooting this weekend.
  12. I adjusted the primer to seat fully and this solved the problem.  I reloaded and shot 5 rounds (primer only) without a problem.  Back to the range this week and shoot a few more fully loaded to see if this really solves my problem.  Thanks to everyone who commented.   Dirty Gun
  13. I do use CCI No. 500 primers, I adjusted my primer seating a little and will try a few rounds tonight at the range.  I am using a four die setup for my 45's.  Thanks for the input.
  14. I have been reloading 9mm for a few months and have reloaded a few thousand rounds without any major problems.  I just started to reload .45 auto with a lee press.  I have been using small primers casings (used and new).  My first problem was the shells were not ejecting properly with the minimum load data.  I loaded a few with the mid-load data and tried to fire them and could not them to fire (at all).  Should adjusted my primer?  Small dimple on the primer casing.  Shoots factory loads fine. (Glock 21)
