Welcome to TN brother. -
And we don't care what you think about us original Northerners. We did not move here to change anything, so stop your whining. Anyone who truly loves their country understands the premise of the saying "united we stand, divided we fall".

Welcome to TGO!

The crime rates will skyrocket if any felon is allowed to carry. The process we use for a permit is not all that bad. I personally like knowing theres a system in place that is purposefully made for the good guys to carry guns, and the bad guys be forced to do it illegally - increasing their chances of punishment. Does the 2nd amendment apply to fellons? In my opinion the law exists to reflect God's wishes on humanity, thereby our constitutional rights do as well. Genesis 4. In this chapter, we read about the first murder. Cain decided to kill his brother rather than get right with God. There were no guns available, although there may well have been a knife. Whether it was a knife or a rock, the Bible does not say. The point is, the evil in Cain’s heart was the cause of the murder, not the availability of the murder weapon. God’s response was not to ban rocks or knives, or whatever, but to banish the murderer. Later (see Gen. 9:5-6) God instituted capital punishment.

Hey Shaun, I bet there are some there too since it has coyote food sources (not the case for squirrel and deer I believe) The openness of the terrain there makes it picture perfect, I'll be goin there more often myself..

I've been longing to go check out the Johnson City area. My family is from there originally.

You make a good point Fred.

Welcome, fellow New Yorker. Some of the Rebs down here can be a little hesitant in welcoming us, but most folks do welcome us Northern conservatives - and are the nicest and funniest folks you'll ever meet. Those who are hesitant have this fear that us "yankees" will try to change them. Sometime I find this is due to their assumption that you're probably a liberal if you're form NY. I'm sure you know thats pretty absurd from an upstate ny point of view. Hands down- Congrats on your ESCAPE from blue NY. Welcome to a red state. Welcome to Tennessee brother.

I like the .410 myself, but do not own one. Gotta love picking up that Taurus Judge though.

I just get as much as I can every here and there (maybe a small box per weekend or so) without having to explain to my wife how and why I spent loads on ammo. I went to the Lebanon gun show this past weekend, and only one dude had .22, and 2 boxes left. I got one, left one. I'm personally stocking .22 up more than my other rounds/shells (.380, slugs, and buckshot) right now so the amount of .22 is at least double the others since its the cheapest. Thats just my outlook. I keep em all in separate metal ammo cans, .22 being the smaller-type can.

Looking at weapon lights - Ruger Sr40c

You guys make a good point. Its got to be on either your head, or the gun. Can't say I'd be interested in having it on my gun at all times, nor would I take the time to hook it up if needed, so I'll probably go with more of a head-mounted light myself. -
Well said man.

I hear ya sig. Love that icon by the way, makes me laugh every time.

Hence folks- one of the major reasons I moved to Tennessee. Many of us conservative Northerners want to see the red states stay red states. The most important thing we can do to keep another Obama from taking office anytime soon is to solidify the Red states. New York holds 29 Electoral votes, and California 55. Those are huge chunks of the 270 needed for election. If we lose any more red states to blue states, we're in real danger folks. The best thing you guys can do is to welcome more conservative Northerners to red states such as Tennessee. So with the whole Yankees coming down and "trying to change us".... You want change... you're gettin a good taste of it with Obama and it will just keep going the way its going if we don't band together.

It goes back to our electoral system, and i'll use the example of New York. Close to half of New York State's population lives OUTSIDE of New York City. But of course every year ALL of those primary election votes go to the democratic candidate. In a fair system, the popular vote would be used to determine the percentage of primary votes won - and you would see that New York isn't as much of a blue state as you all think.

Hey, I agree with you completely. I'm just a fireman, but I'm from a military family with service in every war since the 1800s- Yanks and Rebs side by side. I never served, but I'm sure you actives and vets all know all that old hype is out the window. Heck, whoever here's a vet or active duty, please give a shout out with your branch so we can all recognize your service... And no joke Rebs, my family all served for the South. Tennessee and Virginia. I'm a second generation Yankee.
