  1. If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water it will jump out, if you put a frog in a pot of cold water and turn the heat up gradually he will be boiled to death without moving. America is being slowly boiled to death and the majority of people fail to see what is happening. It's not a question of being gutless because the changes are made so slowly that most people can't see the big picture. Are the majority of Americans gutless? No. Are they unaware of their situation? Yes.
  2. HOLY S@#%!!! I can actually come to this one. Not only is it the day after finals end, and I will certainly be in the mood to shoot something, but I also just bought some .223 so I'll get to shoot the AR for the first time.
  3. Not to mention what Alzheimer's Taft pays
  4. 442 is blued 642 is stainless
  5. Yup, Southfield was very close, well 10 mile is a whole 2 miles north of the D I wasn't actually in pontiac, Auburns Hills was closer and Clarkston to be exact. My dad taught high school in Eastpointe for 30 odd years, thats not too far from Clinton if I'm not mistaken.
  6. Where abouts near that nasty city? I was born in Southfield, lived near Pontiac then moved back to Southfield for a year before moving here.
  7. Welcome, I'm a native Michigander myself. Moved down here about 2 years ago, and I don't really miss much about Michigan except for family that still lives there.
  8. +1 on Phantoms class. I took it having never shot a handgun and scored 466/480 on the shooting portion.

    Got a new one

I held it as high up and as tight as could. Forgive my ignorance but what does HBWC stand for? I'll try staging the trigger for the longer shots next time. I definitely didn't buy it for fun range trips, just want to make sure I can hit what I'm trying to with reasonable accuracy if need be. Thanks for the tips.

    Got a new one

Well I got a chance to put some lead through it yesterday and I think I did alright. First off the gun is pretty light so the recoil is very noticeable, not that it was too much to handle but it was quite a change from the Kimber. I had trouble at first with my follow through and reigning in the recoil. I was shooting a B-27 silhouette and at 3 yards I put all of the shots inside the 9 ring or better, at 7 yards I put most inside the 8 with two shots finding their way to the 7. I know this particular gun wasn't built to be a tack driver so I'm happy with my results. I only put 100 rounds through it (50 at each distance) and I'm sure I can bring the groups in with some practice.
  12. This is good week to buy a J frame I suppose I'm enjoying my new 642, and since they are essentially the same gun I'm sure you will be happy with your purchase.
  13. Perfect for all the glock owners

    Got a new one

Well I traded in my Sig today and got a brand new S&W 642 and some goodies for it. I was looking for something small that I could drop into a jacket pocket during the winter and I think I made a good choice. I looked at a couple Kel-Tec's PF-9 and P3AT and the smith just felt better to me so I got it. This is my first wheelgun so I have some serious practice shooting to do (the trigger is pretty heavy). Pics and range report to follow shortly.
  16. Jeff Dunham is a funny man.
  17. Nope, lol. I always have something going on during these things, that and I have no money for ammo. I will definitely be at the next one in oak ridge though.
  18. I love my Kimber, but I don't have any experience with the others so I'm biased. If we are ever at an East TGO meet at the same time again you can shoot it if you'd like.
  19. Something for pocket carry, maybe a P3AT or a SW 642.
  20. I built one. I used a spikes tactical lower, with a DPMS LPK, and a stag arms upper. It was so stupid easy that after completion I was actually disappointed at the ease of the process. Hardest part is not scratching the lower when you put the pins in. If you assemble the upper yourself that is a whole other issue but from what I can tell it really wouldn't be that hard either. Check out the Build it Yourself section on AR15.com
  21. The most dangerous prey.
  22. As much .223 as will fit in the sleigh I've had this AR sitting here, completely unfired, for months because I'm so broke.

    the finger

I use the pad and voted tip.
  24. XD 9mm service was my first handgun, and I'm glad it was. You could do a lot worse for more money than to buy one of those. On the other hand I happen to know of a certain Sig 229 in .40 for sale.
  25. I held one today and I wasn't very impressed. The XD gets my vote still for a budget polymer pistol.
