If someone held a .45 to my head I would act in the same way. I think he was justified in what he did. I also think showing up to someone's home with 3 loaded guns after asking his wife where the "big one" shows Hyder's intent to do harm.

5 weeks and 1 day from the date of fingerprinting. Expiration date says 5-18-11 so I'm assuming its been done for a while though. I would have posted this earlier since I got it about 11am but I've been running errands all day and I was packing the whole time. Contrary to what most people say I didn't feel weird about it at all, as in I didn't think people were staring at me all the time, It just felt natural. To be honest I was more worried about the gun being loaded with a round chambered than I was about people seeing me printing, but after about an hour I forgot all about it. I'll shut up now, in conclusion it was a great day.

Unbelievable, I think everyone who applied around the same time as me has gotten theirs. Now I'm starting to worry...maybe I'm a criminal and I just don't know it... Oh and congrats.

Alright I noticed a pattern of the people getting their permits on here recently and they have moved from west to east. Hopefully since you got yours and we applied around the same time mine will be here soon. In any case congrats.

This will be my first Memorial Day in Tennessee, and this statement seems odd to me. In my hometown in Michigan we always had a memorial day parade down main street that would culminate at the cemetery and a 21 gun salute. My family would go every year and it was always a very meaningful experience for me. I suppose since that was always the norm for the vast majority of my life that I just expected it was the same case everywhere. Although now that I think about I don't see how any parade would work out in Knoxville, and regardless it wouldn't have that same kind of small town feel. I'll end my rant with my sincere thanks for all those who have served or are currently serving to protect our freedoms.

I believe the real issue is if you are carrying legally and the officer wants to disarm you during a time when he has no real reason to disarm you. I could be interpreting this wrong as well though.

I have a Beretta U22 Neos and as far as I can tell it's pretty accurate. I haven't shot it from a supported position but just holding it 2 handed I can usually get all of my shots in the 7 ring or better at 25 yards, which says alot because I'm a shaky guy especially with the long barrel. The only problem I've had with it is that it doesn't like cheap bulk .22 it likes to have FTE's with it, but higher quality .22 still costs next to nothing.

Someone should try this.

I haven't purchased any guns from CCA but I have used the range several times just because it's the closest place to me. At the times I've shot there haven't been any incidences to mention that would keep me from returning other than the price seeming a bit steep to me. Even with gas the way it is I think an annual pass to the Norris range would easily be cheaper than $15 a pop at CCA. Maybe I'll look into joining a members only range like ORSA or JSHEC.

Welcome. I too am waiting for my permit, almost 5 weeks so far. I've joked around about starting a permit waiting support group .

We're moving on the 8th and some friends are giving us a house-warming on the 16th, but I think it is at night. If that's the case then I will try to be there for at least a portion of the day.

It has previously been the third Saturday of the month, however I don't know if this was ever an "official" decision or not. If that trend continues it would be the 16th of June.

I believe Phantom6 said everyone is invited to his range near Oak Ridge next month.

He only wore it for about 10 minutes before we went into pratt's, but I can confirm that he did indeed wear it. I was the first person there and he and his wife showed up second and I was able to recognize him by the hat.
