I'm guessing these "five star" ranges don't allow drawing from a holster or any "rapid fire" regardless of how well you are actually shooting.  Most indoor ranges that I have visited are run by people who have zero affiliation with actual shooting sports and just want to cash in on supermarket magazine reading "shooters."

If you live within 2 hours of Oak Ridge and have ANY interest interest in practical pistol shooting you need to be at the ORSA USPSA matches.  They offer the most consistently interesting stage design of any match other than NTPS within about 4 hours drive.  The match is a fast moving typically 6 stage affair with excellent facilities.   Mark Levy and Aaron Sontag are quietly putting on an outstanding USPSA match.   Come out and shoot whether you are Unclassed or a GM.

My understanding is that the new IDPA rule book allows for shooting a non-legal rig for no match score.  Would the MD allow me to shoot this with my USPSA rig for no score? paul

Good to see more Ron Paul folks moving to TN!   Pursue North Tennessee Practical Shooters, Music City Tactical Shooters (both same venue), if business takes you east, Oak Ridge Shooting Association.  South to Manchester Middle Tennessee Practical Shooters.

I'm a USPSA shooter in Cleveland TN looking for a few hours on someone's 550.  I have a head unit with powder measure ready to drop in and all of my components.  I am simply away from the press that I normally use in Nashville.  If I could tumble some brass while I work I would really be in your debt.  There would be beer of your choosing in trade.   thanks in advance. Did you get to set up any illegal check points or demand that a citizen show you their papers?  Maybe some kind of unified training exercise with the TSA on a Tennessee road?  That would be fun!
