This is where I have bought most of my steel. http://shootingtargets7.com/ They use flat rate boxes so whatever they can stuff in a given size flat rate box ships for that cost. I feel sorry for the mail man when he hands over some of the boxes. I also bought their target stand, was expensive but it sure works good. They have a sale for almost every holiday which helps with prices.

How about a license plate frame. Then it works on specialty plates and regular plates.

I solved the problem by buying a larger safe. Still keep most accessories and ammo on shelves outside the safe but I do keep loaded mags and reasonable amount of ammo for each gun stored in the safe. I also keep a holster for any gun I might want to grab in a hurry to carry.

I thought you could do long gun FTF if the state was adjacent without FFL.

Doesn't look like you need much more advice but.... A good friend back in Western NY has had a couple of Subarus and swears by them. I have ridden with him in pretty bad conditions and I have seen him pull a trailer loaded with firewood up a pretty steep grass covered hill. He also puts Winter tires on it for a little more edge in the snow season which is a lot longer and deeper in his area right off Lake Ontario. Having said all that we bought a new car this fall and had it narrowed down to the Edge and a CRV. My wife drove the CRV and we didn't even test drive the Edge. Still feeling out how well it does in the snow. We havn't tried getting out of our place since the last snow, we will see in the morning how good it does. Why not Suburu for us? Seats just were not that comfortable for either of us and we road in the friends many times. Bottom line drive them and see what fits you.

I have a Gen 2 Kel-Tec Sub2000 that takes Glock 17 mags. I love it, fun to shoot and folds in half for compact storage.

Frazier Arms Museum is a must see. http://fraziermuseum.org/ Was there two Summers ago, I went to the Fraizer my wife went to a folk art museum down the street. We agreed we would meet back at the camper and not worry about the time, whoever got back first would just read and entertain them self. Not sure I will get away with that again she finished went back to the truck and I showed up a couple of hours later. I could have stayed longer but I figured she would be back by then.

Welcome, I'm a fan of Mossberg myself. I have a Maverick 18.5 inch and a 500 28" and an old magazine feed 20g that was my first big boy shotgun when I graduated from .410.

Didn't completely follow what all she needs but the last two photos reminded me of some plastic stuff that they use for making custom braces for arms, backs and such. It is white and comes in sheets. They put it in hot water and it becomes very bendable and can be formed into the shape you want then it hardens when it starts to cool. Very strong and stiff. If it isn't right, just put back in hot water and adjust shape.

Congrats, took about a week after the website said I was approved, but it is up to the post office at that point.

Thanks, I have a bunch of Rugers including a few that were freshly announced models and have never been disappointed, now I can cross this one off my list, at least till a Gen 2 version comes out. Oh well my list was two long anyway, at least that's what my wife keeps telling me :x:

Please Consider Becoming a TGO Benefactor or Authorized Vendor
Jeb48 replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Had already planned on going Benefactor the 1st of the year, thanks for the reminder. Figured I have been hanging out for free for almost 2 years it was time. Everyone here has made me feel good about moving to TN. -
Just moved to Nashville area from Detroit

Welcome, I escaped the North in June and I still have unpacked boxes. In case you didn't know, your MI carry license is good in TN for 6 months to give you time to get TN carry permit. -
Hi from down the mountain range. Was just in Elizabethton on Monday visiting Tri-Cities Gun Depot. Welcome

Thanks for the clarification. My first option will be to stay out of VA as much as possible. After years of trying not to expose it will take some getting use to. Guess I will have to go shopping for a shorter coat or a longer holster :-) Was interesting, went to Bristol TN on Wednesday and was thinking how one wrong turn could break the law and I get lost a lot. I have a UT carry permit so as long as that is still acceptable to VA I guess I'm ok. I got it before my move to TN and was thinking I would let it lapse since TN covered more states than UT. I can't think of anything from the UT class that was not covered in the TN class accept they did not require live fire and they covered some UT specific laws.

Since soon we will not be able to conceal carry in VA but can open carry, how open does it have to be. If I have a coat on does it have to be strapped around the outside of the coat? I am going under the assumption that it I'm using an outside the waistband holster, that is open carry even if I have a coat or jacket covering it. True????

I have a Ruger American .22, I really like it. I run it with stock sights. A very accurate rifle on a bench rest. I don't get it out often enough is the main problem. Using the stock 10-22 mags was a big plus for me since I have a Takedown 10-22 with red dot and Hogue Thumbhole stock. Already had a bunch of mags including the tri mag adapters, was a good fit for the collection.

You are using the same directional antenna to receive and transmit so if you can receive you should be able to transmit. Directional on both ends would extend your range but would be harder to aim. I used my colander set up mostly when camping and visiting relatives that didn't have networks. I would try to hook up on an open networks in the neighborhood. Now that most routers are shipped with passwords I don't use it any more. It all folded up in a fairly small case. Just to repay the universe and keep good karma, I have two networks set up in my house, one locked and one open for visitors to the neighborhood.

Welcome Mark, I'm just 90 minute or so North of you SOuth of Jonesborough. We moved from Western NY for the same reason and a few other things :-) I'm from NW Ohio originally but didn't want to move back there, still to much Winter.

I have a Marlin lever .357. Would say it is between 410 at 20g in kick with .357 and less than 410 with .38 Special. It is fun to shoot, and the .357 is a much bigger boom than .38 Special.

Here is one I put together a few years back for about $10. Just an old metal colander, a USB WIFI adapter and a little time. Should have no problem pulling in line of sight that far.

Took the course and got my HCP a couple of months ago and they said the average score was 96. In our group I think the worst score was 96, most were 100s and 99s. As of then the DMV did photos and UPS store did the finger printing. Very easy and fast. Took course on Saturday, DMV on Monday, UPS on Tuesday. Logged on Tuesday night and it said I was approved and the license should arrive in next 2 weeks and it showed up about a week later.

Ruger SR22 for semi and LCR22 for revolver. You will have to shop a little to meet your budget on either or buy used. I also have an old Hi-Standard Dura-Matic that is fun and is cheap on the used market. I have had 4 friends buy SR22s after shooting mine.

Welcome, I'm a retired nerd and I still have my slide rule, haven't used it in awhile. Now I just do hobby nerding.
