I currently have three wheel guns, an LCR-22, LCR-9mm and a SP-101 in .22. I have had the bug for awhile now for a .357 wheel gun to go with my Marlin .357 lever gun. I have been leaning towards a Ruger Security 6 with 5-6” barrel in stainless. Certainly willing to be talked into something else. Yes I like Rugers but have other brands :-)

Kind of in the same position as far as enough black stuff for now and going for other interesting things. I picked up a Beretta 21a in .25 caliber last weekend. Looking for a Marlin Lever in 30-06 to go with my other Marlin lever guns and a .357 revolver.

We moved from a 20Mb cable house to a 3Mb DSL house. I was concerned and did some testing before we moved and found that you can tune Netflix back to a lower data rate that works very well on 3Mb. If you have a monster TV or are very fussy on video quality you might notice but on a 42" screen we could not see the difference. We occasionally notice a little delaying on downloads from certain websites but the only time it has been much of a problem is when I have a lot of photos to upload, I manage a couple of websites. It helps that it is half the cost when I notice the slow down. I use good ad blockers and an add on to the browser called Ghostery that blocks all the trackers and such that many websites have. The combination of the two speeds up web page loading. I do have to turn them off for some sites but most don't notice. You can white list sites you go to all the time that need them turned off. You also might want to test your actual speed, I noticed some slowing down twice in the last 18 months and when I ran the speed test I could see problems. First time it was a corroded connection at the pole the second time I needed a different DSL modem, they had updated something and didn't bother notifying me that I needed to upgrade the modem.

Welcome. You might want to borrow a different handgun for your permit class. Most of the people in my class used .22 semis. The club that was hosting, even had extra Ruger .22s that could be rented cheap with ammo. By the time you shoot 50 rounds you may appreciate the lighter rounds.

I was at the Expo show and can't disagree with your description and I didn't eat. I did find a pistol I have been looking for at what I thought was a fair price, but tax and NIC would have made it marginal. It was at a table with a fair number of guns. I asked if the price was out the door or did I have to add tax and NIC and he said out the door. I said sold and he did his own background check by asking if I had a carry permit and could he see it. Studied it for about 30 seconds and took the tag of the gun and handed it to me in exchange for cash.

Moved from Western NY 18 months ago. The final blow for me was the last governor race in NY. We had a good candidate that pushed the friend of the 2nd Amendment message. The political pro gun group that I belonged did lots of pushing to get the votes out, even had a big electronic billboard in Albany for months leading up to the election. We ran the number, if just the gun owners came out in force we could get a new governor. Our candidate did much like Trump and took 95% of the land mass but lost to the big city areas. We just could not get the gun people out in large enough numbers to overcome the big city vote. Pretty much decided I couldn't take it anymore and started looking. I figured if the unheard masses couldn't at least vote I wasn't going to kill myself fighting for them anymore. Add in high taxes and weather it was an easy decision. Felt a little guilty taking 2 conservative votes out of state but sometimes you have to look out for yourself. Welcome to TGO, I was a member for over a year before we moved.

area-knoxville gun show at the expo center nov 10-11

I like Gray, not as big as the Expo but probably as many booths with gun related items. It is also over an hour closer which helps for me. I probably have over spent my gun budget for the year by now but plan to go next weekend. -

My first time at the Expo Show. My first impression when I walked in the door was wow big show, then I realized the high number of non gun vendors and empty tables. Was a worthwhile trip anyway I found a Beretta 21a in .25 ACP, that I have been looking for for awhile, in very nice shape with the deluxe wood grips at a good price. I now have the pair a .22 version I bought on TGO and the .25. Not sure why I wanted them other than they are neat design and the .22 version has been a lot of fund to shoot. Spent some time at one booth with many really old guns, really old, not really my thing as far as owning but I like to look. Also spent some time looking at a fellows Luger display, looks like he has every variation made, I had seen him at the Chilhowee Park show but didn't have time to look for very long. I didn't get to the show till around 11pm and the parking lot was close to capacity but the rows were wide enough in the show that you could still get around pretty well. Will probably go again, but not a must go for me. For those that go regular, is any one of the shows there bigger/better than the others? One of the shows I use to go to before I moved had two shows a year and the Spring show was nearly double the size of the Fall show. -

This will be my first trip to the Expo Center. I have been to the Chilhowee Park show a couple of times. Bought my Ruger Mk IV their in November and I bought a KelTec their back in the Spring. Both times I found that the dealers were willing to come down on a cash deal. Been to all of the ones held in the Tri-Cities at least once and will probably go to the one in Gray next Saturday, that is one of my favorites for this area. -

NE TN Members - So how many of us are there around?
Jeb48 replied to Ronald_55's topic in General Chat
We have chatted in another thread but will jump in for the count. I'm South of Jonesborough. Maybe we have enough to have a gathering sometime for breakfast or lunch and put faces to names. -

I was told a few years ago that the same company owns CCI and Federal. They both manufacture Blazers but in different factories and different equipment. I have found that the loose bulk boxes are usually made by Federal and the 50 box packs are usually made by CCI but Federal does box some of their Blazers. White plastic carrier 'with legs' are Federal mfg product, CCI (Lewiston, ID) mfg. product has a clear plastic carrier with no legs. If you lay them side by side the CCI is a very dark gray bullet; Federal is a light silver. If you can find a lot number, Federal product lot numbers typically end in three numbers, CCI lot numbers end in either one number or two, but never three. Examples: CCI Mfg: D26Q12 - Federal MFG: 2BY502. The last difference is CCI has a wax like bullet lube and Federal doesn't. All this info is from 4 years ago I haven't checked lately.

I have a Maverick 88 with 18.5" barrel. I picked up a used 26" barrel and shot a lot of sport clays and tree rats with it. I eventually picked up a double barrel for clays but the 88 is still my primary home defense with the 18.5" barrel. I never put the pistol grip on mine (came with the gun) but shot a friends 88 with a pistol grip, it is a hand full, he has picked up a stock for his (didn't come with one).

Some sellers will ship and some will not. Depending on how much you want to farm out on the 56, I know a guy in Unicoi that does as little or as much as the customer wants. He does not do high end restorations just very nice drivers. He did the king pins on the 50 F1, I just didn't want the hassle. He has all the tools and a paint booth. If you want the contact info send me a private message.

I have heard similar stories from multiple disasters and people. Including selling things that were donated, to the people they were donated for.

2 long guns shipped, one hand gun we met in the parking lot at Bud's in Sevierville. My 49 Crosley, that has been waiting, I bought when I was 13 (long time ago) and rebuilt and drove in High School, it is waiting for it's 3rd mechanical rebuild.

I think the Nashville illusion is they keep selling what they buy, we keep what we buy :-) I have bought 3 guns off the forum so far and they were all from middle TN. Yea I spent a lot of time on the keyboard before I retired and probably still spend too much. The truck is a 1950 Ford F1, I also have a couple of Crosleys. I know the feeling on the getting started, my 49 Crosley has been next Winter's project for several decades now.

Yep we made a donation last night. Rather give it through Dolly than the Red Cross.

Glad to see another NE TN member. I'm south of Jonesborough a bit.

Not real near, but Mahoney's in Johnson City had an LCP-2 a couple of weeks ago when I was window shopping.

I shoot M-22 regularly, most of my .22s like it. My favorite of the bulk ammo. I still have my tin foil hat on and think the government has been interrupting the .22 flow. Kids start with BB guns then move to .22s, no .22s and the path to bigger guns has been broken for many kids. The libtards like t play the long game. So new government, may open up the market.

I mostly bought things I planned to buy anyway, just sooner. Only extra stuff I bought was a few magazines in case they were outlawed, so I would have spares and a bit of extra ammo, ok maybe 2 bits of extra ammo. The last shipment of ammo that is ordered is coming Friday.

Bought the stainless Target Mk IV two weeks ago, very nice. I put a rail and an extra Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on it Saturday and did a quick zeroing. Liked it but ordered an inexpensive red and green reflex sight to also try to see if I can acquire the target easier.
