  2. We use to go to Maine once or twice a year. A lot depends on what your interested in seeing. A couple of great car and transportation museums. Owls Head is a very formal car and aircraft museum and the Cole museum in Bangor is general transportation and has so much stuff in it you have to look up down under and around constantly, the better of the two if you only do one. Highway 1 is a nice drive but can be a parking lot at times so you may want to have an alternate route in mind if it is too bog down. Lots of good lobster eating, the best are close to the docks and have fresh off the boat. A couple of times when on less traveled roads we found fisherman's wives serving lobster in the front yard at picnic tables. For a slightly lighter fair try the lobster rolls. Even some of the McDonalds server them. For way off the beaten path Bagaduce Lunch, Penobscot, it is a real hole in the wall but great Lobster rolls and onion rings, you sit outside on a bay where depending on the tide a creek running into the bay might be flowing out or in. Booth Bay also has an interesting fish shack for good fried fish. Lots of light house to see if your into them. If I think of some other good spots I'll post another note.

  8. My problem is I only buy and never sell. I have a few I probably should sell because I don't get them out often but I bought them for a reason. Last (only) gun I traded was when I was about 14 and I still regret it and it was just an old junk single shot 10g.
  9. Here is one for the 4th of July. 1945 - Group of U.S. Army nurses sunbathe beside a 40mm anti-aircraft gun
  10. Welcome from the other side of the mountain, nice to have another member in the neighborhood. I get to Erwin often, only 10 miles away through the pass, was at Ford today. I usually shoot my bigger stuff at the NF Shooting Range just so I don't aggravate the neighbors.
  11. I have an earlier version of this Makita set https://www.amazon.com/Makita-LCT209W-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless/dp/B005CQ1RGI/ref=sr_1_6?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1530584432&sr=1-6&keywords=makita+drill+set&refinements=p_89%3AMakita%2Cp_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A2399140011 I was amazed at what these little drills can do and they are so small and light it doesn't wear you out to use it. I just got done putting wood siding on my steel Carolina Carport using the impact driver. I thought I was going to have to run 100 foot of extension cord to use my heavier corded drill but the little impact driver did the job without breaking a sweat.
  12. I put one of these on my want list a few weeks ago when I first saw a review on them. I haven't tried to find one yet, to actually touch, but will be looking. Being KelTec I expect it to be a long search. I have their 2nd Gen Sub 2000 and SU-16C, love both of them. Was wondering what the street price would end up being.
  13. Yep house and shop are about 80-90% switched to LED. When I started the conversion 3 years ago I looked into direct bulb replacement for my 4 foot florescence and at that time fixture replacement was cheaper. I ended up putting about 3 times as much light in the work area of the shop and moved most of the displaced florescence to the storage area of the shop. As they go bad I will replace them with new LED fixtures. The fixtures I used were lower profile than the florescence fixtures and had the added feature of plugging end to end so one power run could power a whole long strip. Most of the of the house bulbs were just tungsten floods and lamp bulb replacement. I replaced the ones I used the most first, the rest are being replaced as they burn out or I fall in to great deals. Just pick the right color temperature for where they are being used.
  14. Any takers

  19. I would wait till the first deposit from SS went into the new bank before I completely closed the BoA account. When we moved I kept my old credit union account open for about 6 months till all the dust settled and I was sure I didn't need it any more, then I closed it remotely with a phone call.
  20. Looks like another good one for a caption.
