Read less interesting books. When we decided to make the big move to TN I went for about 6 months with 3-4 hours of sleep a night. Now that we are all settled in and loving life I'm back to my normal 6. Never took anything, but it didn't really seem to affect my wake time.

Was thinking the same thing but haven't looked to hard. I would like a bipod that attaches to the bayonet mount.

Before you get carried away with a foundation check with your town tax people. Many places if the shed is on skids it doesn't raise your taxes, if it is on a foundation it raises your taxes. You can dig down a little and dry stack cement blocks in a coupe of places to sit the skids on and it will last a long time. My old place had a shed I built that was 40 years old and moved once. Still in ok condition, I put a new roof on and painted it a few times and that is all. When we sold the house the shed need a little repair work to the doors but ok otherwise. Jim...

I bought a 10x10 from a local storage building company (Cherokee Storage Buildings). It is run by Mennonites and it is the best yard building I have ever seen. Way over built and solid. Highly recommend looking for Mennonites builders they take pride in their work. Besides what has already been said about bigger (10x10 was as big as would fit where I wanted it) go at least 10 ft wide, most times the 10' comes with a bigger door which will appreciate when you start moving things in and out. They also delivered with a real trick trailer that puts the building where ever you want it. I ordered the wrong ramp and they took it back and delivered a longer one the next day, only charge was the difference it the cost of the two ramps. When I said I might be putting extra heavy stuff in the center they added an extra pier in the middle, no extra charge. You sit down and tell them what you want and what you don't and they tell you the cost and built it with siding, roof, size, etc you want.

That's about what I paid 5 or 6 years ago. Never seen any great deals on the AR-7. Jim... -

In college we hung a dummy by one of the class room buildings, with a teacher's name on it that we didn't like at Halloween. Then on Halloween night we took it down and one of the crew dressed up in the dummy suit with sign and laid on his porch and we knocked on the door and ran. When he opened it and started cursing, the dummy jumped up and ran off. Was funny at the time.

Toilet paper rolls are not as wide either, they actually down sized the width at least twice over the last 5 years. Didn't check paper towels. We had a TP dispenser that was real tight fit width wise one day I noticed we had space so I kept the old cardboard tube on the shelf and compared them for awhile and saw the reduction, at one point I had 3 size lined up. Stopped check then and we have moved so I lost my reference.

Welcome, I escaped Western NY back in June. Just finishing up the last connection to that police state, my half years worth of NYS taxes. You'll have a great life down here. Every week I find something else that I didn't know I was being restricted from or over charged for back in NY.

Been very luck this house and the previous we had great regular postal delivery people. If it doesn't fit it is brought up a fairly steep long drive/road (.4 miles to the mailbox). He even switched to a more aggressive Jeep when we had snow and came up the drive when even we were not to sure about if we could make it. He does honk when he pulls up, but if we don't come out it is placed on a chest freezer on the back porch by the door. Now the substitute delivery person, generally Saturdays, will put a note in the box that we were not home to take delivery even when we are home. I was tracking a package I really needed one time and actually put a stop on my mail so it would stay at the post office so I could pick it up Saturday morning because I knew the substitute would haul it around and take it back after the PO closed. UPS and FedEx are also great, they have actually told I didn't need to come out that they were suppose to bring to the door. One time when I had two packages the driver insisted on carrying the bigger package which I could have handled with the other package. We buy lots over the internet and they all know where we live now. They were all appreciative when we handed out treats and Dunkin Donut coupons.

Recommend a gun safe under $2000.

I considered the large Cannon from Tractor Supply. It would have been fine for my needs. I moved up to the Liberty for two reason, better quality and delivery. I really didn't have anyway to get the Cannon home and into place without recruiting a lot of help. I'm new to the area so that would have been harder than at our old place. I have the 12 gun safe that Tractor Supply sells under the Winchester brand, that I still use, and the difference in quality is significant. -

I went through the same process over the last few months and landed on a FatBoy Jr. Local shop in my area had a good selection and several shops with lesser selections were all checked out. The dealer with the large selection won out after my 4th visit. I had it narrowed down to full FatBoy of Jr. Full was over my budget but I like some of the extras. Finally decided the Jr was already bigger than I would ever need since I already had a smaller safe that I had just out gown. They delivered and set it right where I wanted for an extra $200, if I would have been further from the store or a harder spot the price would have been more. A couple of things I decided on in my search. Electronic locks are nice and fast but if you look online lots of horror stories about failures in 5-12 years and the cost of drilling and repair can be expensive and on your tab. I went mechnical. The full FB comes with an electronic and it is a special order for mechanical unless the shop you are using has the people to swap it out. I wanted the USB station that is in the full FB and didn't know till after the Jr was in place that I could have bought the kit to put it in for about $50 but would have had to do it before install. I did spring for a special edition Jr with custom paint color and black chrome dial which is easier to use in low light. I also put a rod dehumidifier in as part of the install so the 110v could be run through the back before it was put up against the wall. After about a month now I am very happy with my choice. -
I have the ConsoleVault in my F250. Not a full box but would take awhile to cut into it. The sides are blocked by the seats, that leaves the ends. If they steal the whole truck then nothing is safe. Not an option for fast access but for storage when away from the truck it is damn good. In my F250 there is enough room between the console lid and the vault top to lay my .380 in a pocket holster, still not fast access but quicker than vault and easy to slip in your pocket or the vault without drawing attention when you get out.

This is where I have bought most of my steel. http://shootingtargets7.com/ They use flat rate boxes so whatever they can stuff in a given size flat rate box ships for that cost. I feel sorry for the mail man when he hands over some of the boxes. I also bought their target stand, was expensive but it sure works good. They have a sale for almost every holiday which helps with prices.

How about a license plate frame. Then it works on specialty plates and regular plates.

I solved the problem by buying a larger safe. Still keep most accessories and ammo on shelves outside the safe but I do keep loaded mags and reasonable amount of ammo for each gun stored in the safe. I also keep a holster for any gun I might want to grab in a hurry to carry.

I thought you could do long gun FTF if the state was adjacent without FFL.

Doesn't look like you need much more advice but.... A good friend back in Western NY has had a couple of Subarus and swears by them. I have ridden with him in pretty bad conditions and I have seen him pull a trailer loaded with firewood up a pretty steep grass covered hill. He also puts Winter tires on it for a little more edge in the snow season which is a lot longer and deeper in his area right off Lake Ontario. Having said all that we bought a new car this fall and had it narrowed down to the Edge and a CRV. My wife drove the CRV and we didn't even test drive the Edge. Still feeling out how well it does in the snow. We havn't tried getting out of our place since the last snow, we will see in the morning how good it does. Why not Suburu for us? Seats just were not that comfortable for either of us and we road in the friends many times. Bottom line drive them and see what fits you.

I have a Gen 2 Kel-Tec Sub2000 that takes Glock 17 mags. I love it, fun to shoot and folds in half for compact storage.

Frazier Arms Museum is a must see. http://fraziermuseum.org/ Was there two Summers ago, I went to the Fraizer my wife went to a folk art museum down the street. We agreed we would meet back at the camper and not worry about the time, whoever got back first would just read and entertain them self. Not sure I will get away with that again she finished went back to the truck and I showed up a couple of hours later. I could have stayed longer but I figured she would be back by then.

Welcome, I'm a fan of Mossberg myself. I have a Maverick 18.5 inch and a 500 28" and an old magazine feed 20g that was my first big boy shotgun when I graduated from .410.

Didn't completely follow what all she needs but the last two photos reminded me of some plastic stuff that they use for making custom braces for arms, backs and such. It is white and comes in sheets. They put it in hot water and it becomes very bendable and can be formed into the shape you want then it hardens when it starts to cool. Very strong and stiff. If it isn't right, just put back in hot water and adjust shape.

Congrats, took about a week after the website said I was approved, but it is up to the post office at that point.

Thanks, I have a bunch of Rugers including a few that were freshly announced models and have never been disappointed, now I can cross this one off my list, at least till a Gen 2 version comes out. Oh well my list was two long anyway, at least that's what my wife keeps telling me :x:
