I had an independent agent before I moved to TN, for 46 years. He handled multiple companies and every so often he would tell me he was shifting my insurance to a different company to save me some money. He also wrote some short term policies when I needed them for a few days to a week to move a car and always said to let him know if I had a claim by a certain day. If I didn't need the insurance he would rip up the paperwork without filing so there was no charge. He showed me my file when I stopped in to see him one last time, it was about 6 inches thick. In 46 years I only had his Dad and him as agents, my new company changed agents on me 3 times the first year. My first choice when we moved was to find another independent because of their flexibility. After talking to several I discovered none of the small companies that independence sell would cover a house that couldn't be seen from the road or a certain number of neighbors. Strange rule that the old agent said he had never ran into. Ended up going with Farm Bureau. I compared their rates with a couple of others and they were competitive but not as cheap as the independent that couldn't write the house and cars as one policy because of the house location.

Added another target to my hill side. Rated for handguns up to .45. Not suppose to be used for .22 because it will not swing and could come back at the shooter and center fire rifles because too much power. http://vikingsl.com/portfolio/viking-pistol-target/ I mounted it semi permanent by driving a piece of channel 30" into the hill and bolting it on instead of using the X base. I put it at an angle so if I shoot .22 it will deflect down, seems to work. Have also pushed the limit to handgun caliber carbines and it doesn't seem to over stress anything. It is out at about 25 yards, the targets are 6" and 10" AR500. Here is a before picture.

Aguila 12 Gauge MINISHELL - Double your capacity?
Jeb48 replied to Ronald_55's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I saw a fairly inexpensive adapter for the Mossberg pump to make it feed them reliable. It was a part that could be swapped in and out fairly quickly, don't remember the details. May be the same type of adapter for other pumps. Was tempted like you bought price and reliability stopped me. -

Got my lower assembly back from Ruger today. Fast turn around, 8 days from when I dropped it at the Post Office till it showed up back in my mailbox with the free magazine in place. Safety feels more positive, will run a couple of magazines through it tomorrow.

First house I have owned with central air and it went down twice this Summer so far. Not knowing anything about them I called for service and looked over their shoulder trying to learn. First time it was an expansion valve that was causing the evaporator to freeze up. When it shut down and thawed, over flowed the evaporator pan and went into a lower pan that shut off everything when it filled with water. Service guy used a wet vac and sucked up all the water to get it running so he could do the troubleshooting. So when it stopped last week and I saw water on the floor I figured the evaporator was freezing up again. Called for service which was going to be the next day. I went out and bought a wet vac and sucked up the water and got the ac up. I was shutting it down every hour or so to thaw but noticed it wasn't freezing up so I just left it on and sucked up about 4 gallons of water every few of hours before it got deep enough to shut down. When it cooled off in the evening we opened windows and turned on window fans. Turned out to be the pump that drains the evaporator pan. The small $30 wet vac kept us cool and now hangs on the wall close to the air handler. Maybe I need to keep a Window unit on the shelf for back up for next time at least we could keep the bedroom cool.

Last time I was in IL I still had NY plates on my truck and using the same law as referenced, I did have a loaded gun in the console. I stayed over night just below IL in KY and took Interstates South to North as much as possible and only stopped for food and fuel. Spent the next night in WI. They didn't get much of my money.

We hired a realtor in Kingsport to help us find the right house and he was great in helping us see the important things in the area and finding the right house. We spent over a week and over 500 miles spread out over two trips with him and by the second day he knew better than us what we wanted. After he found us our house I asked him if I could recommend him to any of my Yankee friends and he said I could recommend him to any conservative friends that I had.

We moved to NE TN 2 years ago, great move for us. Just got back from our first visit to Western NY since we moved and I swear I felt my chest tighten when we crossed the NY state line. Scared my wife when I grabbed my chest and groaned. :-)
