I agree that the long term effects may not be worth the connivence, I'm to old to have grown up with it, but was an early adopter. Created my first web page in the mid 90s after hearing a presentation on this new thing. Total number of web sites at the time was measured in the hundreds. There was actually a site you could go, that showed you all the new sites that came online so you could check them out.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. - Benjamin Franklin

When I first looked at this one I thought it was leaned back on a recoil but I see they have the side up on blocks, not sure why since the barrel is all the way down.

A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks. - Thomas Jefferson 1785 Aug. 19 Letter to Peter Carr

Would be interested in the story behind this one. When I was about that age, one of my best friends (the daughter of one of my Dad's hunting friends) and I went hunting with out Fathers and we chased the rabbits out of the bramble patches. But she wore pants.

My workbench for dirty work is a very old used machinist bench. My gun work bench is two used office 2 drawer filing cabinets (the ones that are deeper and have heavy slider drawers, lots of good storage), not the cheap box store type. I added a solid core smooth door for the top. I covered the whole thing with low nap carpeting. Plenty heavy for a light duty vise.

I never got around to ordering one but did some looking last summer. I was looking for one to plug in and leave that I could read from my smart phone. Some/all of the cheap ones were not recommended to leave connected all the time because they pulled some current even when the vehicle was off. The more expensive ones didn't pull as much or none at all.
