  1. Stimulus checks are still coming. I just got one for my Mother forwarded to me. She died last August. I was hoping that they had figured out that they didn't need to send one. At least they know their system is broke, there is a box on the front to check that says drop back in mail after checking if deceased.
  2. No I don't want a drink
  3. Gregory Peck, The Gunfighter 1950
  4. Custom in the German military at the time, the tallest and shortest men in a battalion were put together in juxtaposition and photographed.
  5. I used whatever cheap spray paint I could fine for years and then I ran across target paint. It has a higher pigment content than normal spray paint so covers with less spraying. It is a bit pricey but I like it. https://www.rangestore.net/collections/paints
  6. Trench mortar, used in British trenches by soldier of Worcestershire Regiment, World War I
  7. Just be warned steel is addictive. I started with 3. I now have over 20 of assorted sizes, not counting a shooting tree that I bring out from time to time. I have a couple of more spots picked out for a few more but haven't decided what yet. I have mine color coded since heavy targets don't ring as well with lower velocity ammo. I have red ones for .22 and airguns, yellow for pistols and carbines and lower velocity and green for most anything I own. There is a steel above AR500 that has the same abilities as AR500 but thinner. A bit more expensive but I have replaced some of my green targets to get better reaction when I hit them with less powerful rounds. I'll be 72 in a few weeks and more than one thing that I have bought in the last couple of years I have thought that will be the last time I will need to buy one of those.
  8. It helps to recognize that the car is a big american make, which narrows the possibilities. You're right the two ornaments are very similar in a low resolution photo. Never really thought about it before.
  9. Just an old car guy that recognized what it was. If you do an image search for around a 1928-32 Lincoln ornament you will see the sleek Greyhound. I spend about as much time on old car forums as gun forums.
  10. Looks like some really hot rods around it.
  11. Looks like a good one for a caption.
  12. It is a greyhound. It is a Lincoln.
  13. Never had a Savage in my hands so this is not a comparison. I fell in love with the Ruger American the first time I held one, it felt right. I would have loved to bought it on the spot but was out of state at the time. When I went back home I went to my local gun store and they had one for $50 more than the out of state shop. I mentioned that to the dealer and he sharpened his pencil and came down $40 and I took it home. Mine is the original American and I have added a scope. It shoots better than me.
