  3. Read the story to my wife and she said he should have done it at the State House instead of the Steakhouse.
  4. My first 12g was a Maverick 88 defense model with 18.5" barrel. Bought it used but I don't think it had ever been shot. When I got into Sport Clays I picked up a used 26" barrel. Used it as my only 12g for several years till I found a deal too good to pass up on a 500 with nice wood, I think 28" barrel. The Maverick is now exclusively my home defense shotgun unless a group of friends go with me to shoot clays and I need a loaner, then I put the long barrel back on. Shot a lot of clays and squirrels with the 88. The 500 is a better quality gun but the 88 does what it is supposed to do and I have recommended it to several friends. If it is a toss up, pick the safety you like better or what you can afford. Most all 500 accessories are interchangeable with the 88.

  13. We hit up McDs for their $1 drinks and then to get rid of their $1 drinks, can't remember the last time we bought food from them. Growing up we always stopped at gas stations to go to the bathroom on trips, now when we are on the road we mostly rely on McD for cleaner than the average gas station restrooms. When I was a leader on a Boy Scout High Adventure canoe trip back in the early 90s we were in the backwoods of Maine for 10 days. All the boys were begging for us to stop at the first McDonalds we saw, when we started for home because they were so sick of camp food. We then discovered how far in the boondocks we really were, I think we drove for almost 75 miles before finding one. Ever since the frequency of McDs has been my gauge for boonies.

  19. I really like your revolver, shoot it and enjoy it. My two oldest guns, that are in shootable condition, are both .22s, one is a pump made in 1909 and the other is a single shot made around 1935-37. I don't shoot them as much as I use to but they do get out a few times a year. Till I knew better I even shot high velocity ammo in them but have switched to standard now. They were my first 2 rifles given to me by my father.
