  2. Vests have come a long ways.
  3. Wouldn't want to run into those guys in a dark alley.
  4. This almost looks like a setup picture to look like an old one but still a great photo.
  5. Should be able name her but can't pull it out of my brain.
  6. Place I go in NE TN is $25. Several others in the area are in the $30-40 range.
  7. Moonshiners bad day
  8. And not that hard to get. When I got mine 7 years ago I think it took 10 days. If you already have a permit from another state it is good for 6 months.
  9. Hope your move works out. I did similar research before escaping Western NY 7 years ago. High on my lists of wants when we were looking was room to shoot and found our near perfect home in NE TN with room for a small range. My range only goes out 60 yards but there is a range in the Cherokee National Forest only 20 minutes away that goes out to 100 yards and fewer neighbors if I want to shoot the bigger stuff for any length of time. Have never heard a complaint from a neighbor and want to keep it that way. I know there is at least 3 other people on our 1/2 mile long dead end road that have small ranges and at least one other that wants to build one. I would be happy to exchange PMs with you.
  10. Reach for the Sky and hand over all your marbles
  11. Chinese militia group preparing to fight the Japanese, late 1930′s. Interesting stance.
  12. Wonder what the story is behind this one. Maybe a shooting range in the back of the beauty salon, they ball look like they have towels wrapped around their hair.
  13. Been trying to get my son to move to TN and thought about sending him a picture of the plate to give him incentive but it is a pretty ugly plate. Need to get him down here so I can get some of his guns out of my safe. He planned on moving down before the world shut down and started moving some of his stuff down.
  14. US Army infantryman posing with his M1917 revolver and a bolo knife. 1918
  15. Sorry about that, didn't occur to me to check to see if it what photoshopped, makes an interesting photo. Wasn't till I posted that I thought, that is Rooster Cogburn, I should have known that the rifle was all wrong.
  16. We all know the Duke but what is the movie and is it a real weapon?
  17. A friend mentioned the Semmerling LM-4 and I had to look it up because I never heard of a Semmerling. It does seem to be in a category all by itself since it is considered a manual repeating pistol. Must be one of the smallest .45s made not counting the derringers. It looks like a semi-auto but you have to chamber each round by sliding the barrel assembly forward and then back. It has a 4 round magazine. Here is a good writeup and video. https://special-ops.org/semmerling-lm-4-pistol/
  18. Wonder what the story behind this picture is. The file name implies it is a 1959 AP photo.

    Ruger P95

Friends picked up a P95DC back in 2020 and love it. Just heavy enough to take some of the kick out of it for the wife. She always liked my Glock 19 but it kicked a bit more than she was comfortable with, she prefers the P95 after test firing it. In slow shooting she can out shoot her husband but he does better in follow up double tap shooting.
  21. Haven't been since the world shut down 2 years ago but I have got some deals on a few guns over the years. Will go again in the future but not this weekend. It is about 3 hours round trip for me so I have to be in the mood and looking for something.
