  1. Ready for a bike ride in Chicago.
  2. My kind of State Trooper
  3. If I actually got out in the woods much anymore I would probably take my S&W Governor also, loaded with with a couple of .410 and the rest in .45 Long Colt. Thought about buying some half moon clips so I could do partially .410 and .45acp but decided I would probably not use them. #Defender - Try shooting your Governor after dark with .410, looks like a flame thrower.
  4. We bought our second house towards the end of Jimmy Carters time in the White House. I don't remember the exact rate but 13% sticks in my mind. I think we refinanced 3 times over the years till we got it down to around 6%. We always continued paying the same monthly payment as when it was 13% and we were paid off in around 12 years.
  5. Looks like maybe Cuba, any guesses?
  6. I'll accept that
  7. Always like Steve's TV shows and movies
  8. I loosened up my allocations over the last few years since I have plenty of cash flow that should not change to keep us in food, heat and ammo. When I first retired 17 years ago I settled into a 50:50 asset allocation and that has done me well through several dips. After our cash flow increased because of SS at 70 and required withdrawals from 401K I let equities drift up with my new rules, sell off some equities when they go above 60% and start buying when it drops below 50%. I'm not a market timer but I went above 60% very close to the peak and sold off enough equity to get to about 58%. It is always a good feeling when you manage to sell at the peak, I have managed to do that a few times, I have also bought at the peak a few times. I'm very much a buy and hold investor and do it all on my own no advisor taking a cut. I believe in mutual funds and haven't own individual stocks for over 20 years. My advise is have a plan, stick to it, and don't panic.

  10. I thought lower case A Team "a team" but I kind of like B Team
  11. I agree on your Snopes assessment but when they declare a story like this true I figure it really is. Other true stories they spend 2 pages explaining why it isn't true which is usually some minor little detail if anything that you can pull out of their verbiage.
  12. I wonder what the back story is on this photo.
  13. My wife's cousin from FL posted this on her FaceBook page, best my wife could find it was from a Fox posting and Snopes says it's true. Wasn't sure if I should post in General or Humor thread. "You kill a policeman it means no arrest...no Miranda rights...no negotiations...nothing but as many bullets as we can shoot into you...period." said Polk County Florida Sheriff, Grady Judd An illegal immigrant, in Polk County, Florida, who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop and ended up "executing" the deputy, who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. The murderer was later found hiding in a wooded area. As soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire. They hit the guy 68 times. Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor, undocumented immigrant 68 times. Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: "Because that's all the ammunition we had." Now, is that just about the all-time greatest answer or what! The Coroner also reported that the man died of natural causes. When asked by a reporter how that could be, since there were 68 bullet wounds in his body, he simply replied: (BEST QUOTE ever) .. .. "When you are shot 68 times, you are naturally gonna die." "Welcome to Florida, Y'all."
