  1. Hey guys...picked up a trijicon front sight for my G27 that I am pulling the tfo's off of and the guy gave me a Glock rear adjustable sight...only thing is that there is no little adjustable tool (whatever you call it) to adj the windage and elev......Anyone know where I could get one...having these mounted this week...any info appreciated..thanks

  2. So I went out and bought a Glock 19 today and a Serpa Holster at Franklin Gun. This gun is so much better feeling than my Kimber (although I still love my Kimber). The serpa holster seems to more concealable that my galco holster for the Kimber. The Serpa had a paddle attachment on it but I don't know. Has anyone out there have a Blackhawk Serpa and tried the paddle attachment? Is it even worth fooling with?

Back to your question....I use a Serpa w/ paddle attachment for my G27...I really like it...very secure...can be a little cumbersome to take off but that means it is for the bad guy as well if something goes bad...I never used mine with the belt attachment...paddle suits me fine...just screw the attachment on and try it out...you can adjust the cant as well for your liking...enjoy and congrats

  3. I carry everyday, and like most people, I find myself in Wally World quite often. Like there is a driving force much greater than I drawing me to the place :usa:....I have open carried, grocery shopped, picked up ammo, just act like any other patron...never an incident...there is a theory, that sometimes the most obvious, is the least obvious....Dress nice, carry yourself well, act responsible, make eye contact with people, speak first...all of these things...you ease peoples minds rather than rattle their nerves...to the original post as to why WallyWorld and not Home Depot?.....AMMO (what they have left)!....

  4. Ironic...he sites the violence in Mexico as a reason...therefore the citizens of the United States should suffer? Our taxes are going to illegals...now they want to infringe on rights because the country of Mexico can't handle their business.....I'm not a difficult person to reson with...I just like for things to make sense...this doesn't...

  5. Saw Bobby Rush (D) Ill on Lou Dobbs this evening...any efforts to infringe on rights is ....well....wrong...but they sure could have picked a better spokesman for the agenda...he reminded me of Richard Pryor back in the day when he imitated the drunkard in his act....kept asking myself, is this guy for real?

    Biography

Congressman Rush was born on November 23, 1946 in Albany, Georgia. His family later moved to Chicago and lived on the near north and west sides. Rush attended Marshall High School and at the age of 17, enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the military from 1963 until 1968, receiving an honorable discharge.

Following his military service, Rush attended Roosevelt University, where he received a bachelor's degree in general studies in 1973, with honors. In 1994, he received a master's degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Congressman Rush received his second master's degree, in 1998, in theological studies from McCormick Seminary, and, soon thereafter, became an ordained Baptist minister.

During the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's, Congressman Rush worked to secure basic civil and human rights for African-Americans, women and other minorities. He was a member of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) from 1966 to 1968.
Congressman Rush was a co-founder of the Illinois Black Panther Party in 1968.

While a Black Panther, he operated the Panther Party's
    Free Breakfast for Children
    program. He also coordinated the
    Free Medical Clinic
, which developed the nation's first mass sickle cell anemia testing program. This
    visionary Panther
initiative forced America's health care providers to recognize the impact of sickle cell anemia on the Black community and to develop national research into its causes, effects and solutions, a practice which endures to this day.

Prior to his election to Congress, Congressman Rush was an Alderman in the Chicago City Council. He represented the 2nd Ward on Chicago's South Side for 8 years. As an Alderman, Rush helped pass significant environmental protection,
    gun control
    and neighborhood development legislation.

  6. :D

Update from the earlier posts...called ATF AGAIN today....."I see we have your name in the system...we should be getting it out to you shortly"...I told them I was told that numerous times, had requested the docs via the "online distribution center" and need to know what the hold-up is. "Sir, we will get you a form when they are made available"...answers a question for me....they are available....just not being released...She said that it might be next week and I had mentioned that it has been going on since November...she took my name, address, phone number...and then politely hung up on me....I have a feeling that this is never going to happen....

  7. I was checking one out yesterday. It felt really good in my hand. Came up naturally with sights in alignment for my grip.

Would love to hear some other peoples experience as to reliability and function.

    Thanks.

PS - I was looking at a 9mm. This will not be my primary carry gun. Mainly a range gun.

I had one for a while...it was a 9mm. A very reliable weapon...ergo's are good with the ability to change out the back straps. Mine had night sights...I ran about 500 flawless rounds through it and it was very accurate...mag capacity was up there as well w/ the dbl stack...I traded it in for a G27 to use as primary carry due to the fact that I had a 229 as well...all in all...very reliable and fun to shoot!

  8. Completely agree with you about the media. That's what gets me so mad about work around here. People are afraid to do anything due to the doom and gloom crew. BTW, Smoky Mtn. Knife Works is the place you're thinking of, I bet. I wanna run up to the Lodge works across the sidestreet from there to pick up another dutch oven.

+1...thats it....spent about 3 hours in there this past year while the wife shopped and went to get her some cast iron as well....they have some good prices on some of their stuff in there...I picked up a really nice Hen and Rooster skinning / Gut hook this year...saw it elsewhere for about $25 more when we got home...Knives and all the pancake houses a man could want...doesn't get much better!

  9. Why so hostile?

Around Knoxville, where I live, not California, Vegas, Dallas,, or Tupelo, is where I am talking about. I linked to statistical trends. There is not as much construction work being done, in Knoxville, there are a lot of layoffs in all trades, in Knoxville. There is a large population difference between Gallatin and Knoxville. How many twenty million plus a year contractors do you have there? If they're hiring, I might move. If I'm coming across as an ass, tbuford, I apologize. I've just been talking about what I've seen here in my area.

Not trying to be hostile...and I apoligize as well if it came across that way. I know that alot of good people are hurting right now...skilled labor, professionals, trade..its across the board. Different areas will always be more desireable than others...not that Gallatin is the next big thing...but areas in Sumner County are doing well with shovel-ready projects that merchants are especially interested in right now. The same goes for the Murfreesboro and Mt. Juliet areas as well. My frustration lies with the media and the state of panic that it tends to put everyone in. I have seen, especially in residential, the media scare everyone to death, they are afraid to do anything. Our society tends to dwell on the negative...and thats because thats all they hear about. The NAR reported an increase in home sales...it went virtually unreported...the rates are at a lifetime low (4.75% for a deal that I am working right now on a 30yr conv)...where are the media reports on that? Our society is craving something positive...something they can hold onto for a glimmer of hope...unfortunately, if they wait for the 10:00 news, it won't happen. If investors can get a little something positive on their plate, well then maybe we might see a shift in this downward spiral that most are buying into. Knoxville is a wonderful area...we always do our annual trips in the fall...hit a game or two and head to Pigeon Forge so the wife can do some Christmas shopping while me and the boys ride go-carts all day and visit the knife store (on the right as you go in...the name slips me at this point)...I wish you the best..hopefully things will turn around for everyone out there...and it may be happening....we just don't know about it yet!

  10. Just as many as you have seen this time last year, or the year before that?

    http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS116910+19-Mar-2008+PRN20080319

    http://www.bls.gov/iag/tgs/iag23.htm

Glad you're getting submittals. How many of those jobs have you pulled in? How many are you bidding against? I guess all of the laid off construction workers is just a fantasy news story dreamed up by the media. That's not a tinfoil conspiracy theory to me.

How many are laid off this time of year anyway due to weather, seasonal job levels????? You can link in all of the "national" surveys, opinion polls, paid columnists editorials out of Washington you want....fact of the matter is NO ONE can make a blanket statement about the market.....whats taking place in California isn't taking place in Vegas, isn't taking place in Dallas, isa't taking place in Tupelo, isn't taking place in Nashvile, Murfreesboro, Dover or Gallain....there are hot spots where people WANT TO BE...bottom line.... and they are going to make it happen...regardless of what the market in Grinders Switch dictates.

  11. The government is what caused the residential Real Estate market to be in the position that it is in. The Clinton administration pushed the buttons for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to make loans to folks that had NO BUSINESS buying a home without any sort of moral obligation to the borrower as to the ability to repay. The loans are the way they should have been all along...good credit and some money to put down are required....To say that residential is bad is laughable if you are a buyer...if you are a seller...well...its tough. Home values are down to to the inventory levels mentioned earlier and the amount of short-sales and foreclosed properties selling at auction and on the courthouse steps...that will hurt values anywhere....20%-40% less in the next 12 months...maybe in the commercial but not in the residential sector. You are correct in the relationship between the retail and commercial...mostly they are the same...it may have slowed overall..but to say that it is hurting...well, there are folks in Murfreesboro, Mt. Juliet and areas of Sumner county that would beg to differ...dirt is moving everywhere and large commitments from national companies, retail outlets and in the right locations (those mentioned) anchor stores are waiting in line to get in...

  12. Cant say that I agree 100% regarding the commercial market...or residential for that matter...yes, business closings and layoffs and downsizings are the current headline...lease defaults are rising and doors are being closed...but with every lost dream comes opportunity for a fresh start....I have been selling Real Estate for a while now and can honestly say...4.75% for a 30 yr conventional.....we will never see these rates again in our lifetime...and those inventory homes that were just sitting for months? Well, they are starting to move...as soon as we see inventory levels come back into line (which they are by the way) you will see the prices for existing inventories go up (supply and demand) and the market will be back in line. As far as commercial...goes that depends on which window you are looking through...If you are an investor...you would be foaming at the mouth....like a shark circling some chum....if you are a business owner..not so sure. Businesses need to adapt and change with the demands of the market.....the old days of "I'm doing it this way cause I always have" will make you wind up in the unemployment line...bottom line is bottom line..hard decisions need to be made, and sometimes folks get their feelings hurt and relationships break but those who have a desire, will make it. I know of parts of town where commercial is booming...others where it is like a ghost town..

  13. So...started the process back in November to try and acquire my FFL...so the first step of course would be to submit an application, right? Well.....after two attempts with the ATF's "online distribution center" and multiple phone calls to try and get an app... 3 months later nothing, I decided to contact the local ATF office to see what is up. They said that they were (the distribution center) moving offices and gave a phone number to call. Called the number and they stated "we'll get that right out to you"....so, four weeks later I call again. "We are out of the forms" was what I was told..."we should have them in on Friday"...now two weeks later and I called the local office again. "Yea, everyone is out of the applications...we don't know what is up with those D.C. folks...we have been out for a while and don't know when more will be available"...is it just me or does this smell a little funny?

  14. Is there room enough for 2 during turkey season :tinfoil:;)

Trust me, if there was my brother-in-law would have pulled up next to me this past deer season...kinda felt bad about sitting there all warm and toasty while he was "still" hunting in the 20* weather with the wind beating on him!
