SOLD Still slimming down the collection. Up for a new home is this Colt Junior .25 ACP, good condition, serial number 80xxxCC indicates 1968 manufacture. Checkered grips in excellent shape. One factory magazine. Thanks for looking, Whisper -
You'll want to post this in the classified ads.

SOLD -- AD CLOSED For sale -- S&W Model 41 .22 semiautomatic, excellent condition. This gun is a pre-1969 model (serial no. 77xxx) with cocking indicator and two factory magazines. Comes with original box. All yours for $1100, if you're a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns. I'm in Chattanooga but will travel a little bit for a deal. Not really looking for trades right now except that I do need a 2" Model 12 or 2" Model 15. Thanks for looking, Whisper

Red333, I was thinking maybe you would buy it to protect me.

Oh my, this is tempting. It's probably good for me you aren't closer.

Yes, that's *mainly* who they're targeting, but it's the ATF, so if they can write a regulation that's wide enough to catch up more people in addition to the ones who are actually targeted, that's fine with them -- it improves their arrest stats, helps support the case that it was a widespread problem, and (like all poorly explained gun restrictions) has a chilling effect on honest gun owners who might decide to spend their money on something else instead of risking having their dogs and family members shot in a paramilitary raid.

for-sale Remington 22 Pump, Pederson Patent
Whisper replied to Bodine2020's topic in Firearms Classifieds
According to records of the Remington Society of America, your rifle was made in 1913. Hope it isn't breaking any rules to add that bit of info here. Beautiful gun. Cheers, Whisper -
You've been here two weeks and have posted a couple of "new guy" messages and have expressed interest in a couple of classified ads, and you've posted nothing else. I'm not accusing you of anything, but this is the exact pattern we've seen for years from scammers. People are going to be cautious of a new guy who acts this way...and they should. My suggestion: Spend more time on the forums, participate in some of the discussions, and build a presence in the community. Don't complain about whether people really want to sell. Trust will come over time if you don't act like a scammer or an ATF agent. My advice, and worth every cent you paid for it. Cheers, Whisper

Edited: I was asking about the caliber but I see that the P1840 is a .45 Colt. -

BP Mortar/Cannon - Local builders? For Sale?
Whisper replied to SupraMario's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Building something that will shoot bowling balls is extremely ambitious. I have some experience with homemade cannons that will shoot smaller objects such as old D batteries, and you can get impressive blast, smoke, and range from such a device. Building much larger would be asking for trouble, I suspect. Edited to add: Upon reflection, I think it's likely that a bowling ball would not make a good projectile, since it would probably shatter when the gun was fired. But I admit I never tried. Cheers, Whisper -
ad closed Looking to buy left-hand .223 bolt action rifle
Whisper posted a topic in Firearms Classifieds
EDITED TO ADD: I found one -- a sporter-weight Savage 11. Doesn't have a wood stock, but maybe I'll put one on it someday. I'm trying to find a decent left-hand bolt action .223 rifle for varmint eradication. A sporter-weight barrel is fine; in fact, perhaps preferable, since my goal is to put a thermal sight on this and I don't want it to weigh three tons. Would prefer something with a wood stock, like a nice Remington 700 or CZ 457. I also have a soft spot for the older Savage 110s, but I'm not a great fan of the new ones. Please let me know if you have one that needs a new home. Thanks, Whisper -
Still a fine gun. I still have mine, which has these same sights, but an Apex sear.

This won't be helpful for some of you, but for others who are considering knee surgery, see if you qualify for a partial knee replacement. Most surgeons want to do the full knee replacement, so you may have to look around to find someone who will do yours. But if you qualify for the partial replacement, it's a much less invasive procedure, and you'll be up and walking in a day and fully recovered within weeks instead of months. Cheers, Whisper

Target Sports USA, SGA, sometimes Castle Arms, depending on who has the best sales going at the moment. For .223, SGA seems to have the best prices at the moment. www.SGAmmo.com. Cheers, Whisper

Wow. I bought this exact gun for my then-girlfriend in the mid-1980s. It worked fine the few times we took it out shooting. I'm doubtful she fired it much after we went our separate ways, but I spoke to her in 2014 and she said she still had it. Parts will be hard to find if it needs any. If it's in working condition and it's cheap (say $200 or so) I'd probably be willing to buy it. Cheers, Whisper

This excellent condition Walther PP, 7.65mm has been SOLD. This is the last gun I'm selling from my .32 ACP collection, and it's certainly the best from a cosmetic perspective. Crown over N proof mark, 1975 date of manufacture, Von Stavenhagen sights. This was apparently a police gun, judging from the lanyard ring. Comes with four magazines. When I bought it, it came with two blued magazines -- one with finger rest extension and Walther markings, and one with no finger rest and Manurhin markings. I bought the two silver-colored Walther finger rest magazines separately. $750 to a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns. This is quite a bargain with the four magazines. I live in Chattanooga but travel to Nashville periodically and will drive a reasonable distance for a deal. Not really looking for trades but feel free to make suggestions. I like older S&W revolvers and SIG P200-series semiautos. Thanks for looking, Whisper

You can never say 100% for sure that any kid-- obedient, disabled, or not -- won't suddenly decide to go snooping in drawers, closets, etc. If there's a kid in the house regularly, I would strongly advise that any gun in the house should be in a safe or gun room, or secure on your person.
