I see from the news clip the gun was in her purse in a SERPA holster. I think I can guess what happened here.

Israel has 8.8 million people, total COVID hospitalizations right now 514. We're still talking a tiny percentage. Yes, vaccinated people do get sick, because no vaccination works 100% of the time for 100% of the population. In TN 95% of the people who have died of COVID in the last month weren't vaccinated. Maybe there's a clue there?

This is a good argument. "Get the vaccine, dumbass! If you get COVID and die now, you'll be voting for Harris in 2024!"

Their show at the Ryman on Feb. 22. 2017. It was the third time I saw them. First time, back in 1974, Dusty and Billy Gibbons didn't have beards.

There used to be an IDPA club that shot monthly matches at Terry Walden's range just outside Manchester. I shot a few matches there when I lived closer to Manchester. I bet if you called him -- (931) 728-0223 --he could tell you if the club still shoots there. Cheers, Whisper

Another session with mine yesterday. It ran well, although I still didn't bench it at 50 yards. Next time. The gun cries out to the heavens for a red dot sight, and I'm going to see that this happens. Cheers, Whisper

I've had a 9mm version for an entire day now. First day of shooting went well and the gun was a lot of fun. Handles well. Trigger is similar to that of a 10/22 trigger, but it's better. Still needs an aftermarket improvement. which I'll give it soon. Easy three-inch groups at 10 yards offhand with factory sights. (I was mainly shooting pistols yesterday and didn't focus on the PCC.) I plan to bench test it 50 yards next range session. I had a takedown 10/22 that I thought was rather flimsy, and this uses the same takedown mechanism but it seems more robust.

Squirrel Hunting with a .410 in Middle Tennessee!
Whisper replied to Sidewinder's topic in Hunting and Fishing
When I was a kid my mother used to make squirrel salad, using her recipe for chicken salad but substituting squirrel for chicken. She made a rabbit variant also. Tasted fine to me -
Target Sports USA, my favorite online ammo dealer, has a bunch of 9mm training and self-defense ammo in stock -- Federal, Hornady, CCI, Winchester. Prices range from .44/round on up. I greatly like the Federal Syntech 147gr for training ammo in mid- or full-size guns, and it's one of the types available. Free shipping if you buy 500 rounds or more. https://www.targetsportsusa.com/9mm-luger-ammo-c-51.aspx Cheers, Whisper

The Holosun Store -- buyer beware
Whisper replied to Whisper's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Update -- A new Holosun 507K X2 from a different Amazon vendor arrived yesterday and is totally acceptable. I'm a satisfied customer...but will never order anything from the Holosun Store again. Cheers, Whisper -

Yeah, I've said for years I'm going to go, and with this one being the last, I'm going to do it. -
The Holosun Store -- buyer beware
Whisper replied to Whisper's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Kenzie's Optics, one of the more reliable dealers selling Holosun products, used to have tables at the Murfreesboro gun shows, and that's where I bought mine back before the pandemic ended gun shows. Now that things are easing up, maybe Kenzie's will be back (and maybe they were at the show this past weekend -- I didn't make it to that one). Cheers, Whisper -

Sig Sauer optics are actually made for them by Holosun. -
The Holosun Store -- buyer beware
Whisper replied to Whisper's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Not a crazy question at all. I assumed they probably were connected, but I can't document that. I can't find a website for the Holosun Store, although there's one for Holosun Optics and another for just Holosun. -
The Holosun Store -- buyer beware
Whisper replied to Whisper's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Well, remember that Amazon didn't fulfill the order -- the Holosun Store did. So they're responsible for shipping out the counterfeit, no matter how they received it. If Amazon had done the fulfillment instead of a third-party vendor doing so, I'd be raising hell with them too. In this case, Amazon just processed the order. Of course Amazon does some of their own order fulfillment, so this is also a good reminder to see who is fulfilling your Amazon order. I placed another order, this time not to be fulfilled by the Holosun Store, and it's supposed to arrive today. I'll see if these guys send me a real Holosun or another fake. -

Defender, the two previous ones I got came from Kenzie's. They're good and honest people. Different story with the Holosun Store. Lesson learned. -
I've become an admirer of Holosun red dot sights after outstanding experience with two of their sights, and a few days ago I ordered a third -- the one a 507K X2 model. Knowing that some online optics vendors sell counterfeit items, I ordered this one through Amazon from the Holosun Store, figuring from their name that I'd be assured of getting the real thing. It arrived yesterday and here's what I found in the package -- apparently a genuine Holosun box and manual, but inside the case is a West Lake red dot sight -- a cheap knockoff, and not even a knockoff of the 507K, but a different model. Back it goes. But I'll not be ordering again from the Holosun Store.

No matter what people say, the term "assault rifle" actually does have a clear and unambiguous definition, courtesy of the US Department of Defense: Assault rifles are “short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachine gun and rifle cartridges.” Read it yourself: Defense Intelligence Agency, Small Arms Identification and Operation Guide - Eurasian Communist Countries 105 (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1988).

I'm hoping that this is a joke and that you don't really believe there is freedom of expression in Russia.

Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga Skeet. *** PRICE DROP***
Whisper replied to derf's topic in Firearms Classifieds
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but as a longtime 870 shooter, I can assure you that the old 870s with the Wingmaster rollmark are the best and slickest-working 870s ever made. I'd get this one if I didn't already have some. Someone should take it home. Cheers, Whisper -
Possums roaming around at night are always happy to find a dead squirrel, or anything else dead. I've heard that foxes do too but I've never seen that to be sure.

Hernando Desoto Bridge closed I-40 Memphis

Exactly right. When there's a genuine dire need, and no time to arrange fraudulent bids, bribes for permits, and payoffs for relevant state and municipal officials, things can progress quickly.
