  1. Welcome. CA is a beautiful state, but its leaders have created too many problems for me to ever consider living there, and I fully understand why you would prefer a place like TN. Hope you enjoy it here. Cheers, Whisper
  2. I'd SBR one of my .300 AAC rifles, get an SBS of some kind, get an MP5, and put cans on a rifle and a .45 ACP handgun. If only.... Cheers, Whisper
  3. There's an Enigma group on Facebook that contains much good information and is tightly moderated to prevent disruption by a**wipes. Worth a look if you are on Facebook. I have purchased an Enigma and am still experimenting with it. It requires some tinkering to get it exactly right, with regard to ride height and placement in the spot that will yield maximum concealment for your particular body. The makers don't try to hide this and admit that the Enigma isn't the answer for everyone. I have mine about to the point where I'm ready to make it my EDC but haven't quite made that jump yet. Cheers, Whisper
  4. I've been attending gun shows since about 1975 and have been present for two negligent discharges of handguns, but never for a flare gun. It must have been...enlightening.
  5. Another vote for Bellshire Hardware. I did many transfers through Phil when I lived in Nashville. Cheers, Whisper
  6. These are great guns with surprisingly controllable recoil and impressive accuracy. The best of the small .45s, IMO. Cheers, Whisper
  7. Nice gun. But I sort of wish it was a beater, so I could make a few mods without feeling like I was restoring the Mona Lisa with Magic Markers. Cheers, Whisper
  8. I'm saved by you being in Dickson. If you were ever to make a road trip to Chattanooga, however, the temptation would be strong. Hope you find a local buyer. Cheers, Whisper
  9. Welcome.
  10. As Chucktshoes has hinted at in a most diplomatic fashion, most of these issues you've identified are already well known to us here, and are things we've been trying to improve for years. (Except for the lack of BLM land -- there's none in Tennessee.) The TFA has helped a lot on most of the political issues you mention. Lend a hand, especially if you plan to stay here with us. Cheers, Whisper
  11. Welcome. I think you'll find it's easy to indulge all your hobbies here. Cheers, Whisper
  12. That's a decent deal. I hate that you're so far away. But then, since I'm saving up for something else, maybe I don't. Cheers, Whisper
  13. The two Rs -- Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania and Jacobs of New York -- need some opposition in their primaries. I don't usually make campaign donations to candidates in other states but I might make an exception this time. Cheers, Whisper
  14. Voted today also, and was surprised by how many people were at the polling place. Maybe folks are finally getting serious about throwing the rascals out. Cheers, Whisper
  15. It's in USA Today and Reuters and on TV it's on CBS and CNN, plus lots of local affiliates. I think it helps that the media were quick to jump on early reports of "another mall shooting" and then had to follow up with the outcome. Cheers, Whisper
  16. FPC and GOA have been sounding alarms about this guy for a couple of months. He's a grabber who favors an "assault weapons" ban and dislikes semiautos and home-built firearms.
  17. 4-5/8-inch? Thanks, Whisper
  18. As for addressing other areas of gun control, take a look at today's ruling that vacates lower court decisions on assault weapons and magazine restrictions. Very clearly, the decision is specifically addressing these areas. Supreme Court Says Several Gun Cases Deserve a New Look | Hawaii News | US News
  19. Unfortunately, there's no BLM land in Tennessee, although we have some nice state parks and state forests, a few of which have firing ranges. State of Tennessee Shooting Ranges (tn.gov) Cheers, Whisper
  20. Welcome. I'm a fellow resident of Marion County, although I'm over on the south side nearer to Chattanooga than to Jasper. My wife and I retired here from Nashville in January. We like the area a lot. Cheers, Whisper
  21. The Supreme Court ruling is already changing restrictions. The attorney generals of California and New Jersey have already issued formal opinions that their states' "good cause" provisions for carrying a concealed weapon are unconstitutional and cause may no longer be considered when reviewing concealed carry applications. We're essentially certain to see lawsuits against states with less restrictive laws, including Tennessee. You're right that the fight is not over, but the SC ruling is already providing positive results for the pro-freedom movement, and I expect it will for years to come. The tyrants are going to be drowned in lawsuits, and I am thrilled. Cheers, Whisper
  22. I'm confident that all of the facts in the case aren't public, which is the situation in almost every controversy. So I agree with you on that. But that's vastly different from claiming that "Jan. 6 was a setup."
  23. I don't agree on this. I think yesterday's Supreme Court ruling is going to provoke a flurry of lawsuits against existing gun laws and that new laws will all be subject to careful scrutiny. There are elements of the current gun bill (dealing with mental health and juvenile criminal records) that actually might be helpful, and I'm thinking now that the egregious elements of any new gun law will be vigorously contested. Our gun rights organizations will have fertile ground for potential lawsuits. It's a great day in America. Cheers, Whisper
  24. Take a look at CNN. They are moaning, wailing, rending their garments and predicting the end of the world. Absolutely hilarious. Cheers, Whisper
