Good Place to Sell C&R Firearms in TN?
Whisper replied to larry1096's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
From reading your post it seems like you're at least reasonably familiar with firearms. I think all of the guns you've mentioned would sell pretty quickly if priced attractively. Maybe some obscure ones would go slowly, but I bet you could raise some money for your mom pretty quickly by posting them here. My advice, and worth what you paid for it, Whisper -
Here's a review of their 9mm. Doesn't inspire lots of confidence. Belom Ammo Review - AmmoToGo.com (ammunitiontogo.com) Cheers, Whisper

Ok, I'm confused -- this happened 15 months ago and it was widely covered in the music industry press and mainstream news media. Why is it surfacing here today?

I would estimate there were fewer than 200 tables.

It's a small show. I went today and the place was packed with vendors, but it's a small building. I found a good number of things that interested me, but prices seemed high. I wound up buying only some .38 shotshells. I have no experience with Knoxville shows.

Strong hand on the pistol grip, support hand on the foreend, just like with a rifle or shotgun, or with a T/C Contender pistol, for that matter. It quickly feels natural and the gun is well controlled. Have fun. Cheers, Whisper

AD CLOSED. This is probably a long shot, I know, but does anyone have a Mauser HSc in .32 ACP that they'd like to sell? I just want one in decent cosmetic and functional condition (I plan to shoot it). It doesn't have to be heavily engraved, or personally carried by Erwin Rommel, etc. A postwar model is fine -- perhaps even preferable, since all the ones with swastikas stamped on them seem to carry overly high prices. A college roommate had an HSc that I always loved, and that was almost 50 years ago, so it's probably time for me to get one if I'm ever going to do so. (And yes, I contacted him earlier this year to see if he wanted to sell it, but he'd sold it years ago.) Thanks for looking, Whisper

Same here. I've never been a cigarette smoker, but I've carried a Bic lighter in my pocket for many years. It's remarkable how often one needs to be able to set something on fire.

How to ship a firearm for service?
Whisper replied to billyblazes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm pretty sure the UPS guy is wrong. You can no longer ship an entire gun (or a frame) without a firearms shipper agreement, but you can ship a slide. Heck, for just a slide, you can send it USPS in one of their flat-rate boxes and save money. -
A most Excellent Article about the Rich Prepping
Whisper replied to Moped's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I just read a science fiction novel in which something similar happened -- super-rich guy in NYC has built an underground fortress in Montana, he evacs family from NYC and has hard time getting to Montana due to societal collapse, riots, roving gangs of scum, etc. They finally make it Montana only to discover that the contractor who built most of the fortress has seized it for himself and his friends. That's probably the way it would play out. -
I saw a couple of them at the Murfreesboro gun show this past weekend. Grips are pretty rough textured, and given how much some people complained about the roughness of the 2.0 grips, I imagine this will get some criticism. I happen to like the 2.0 grip surface myself.

So, after listing several guns here for sale, I'm surprised that this is the only one left, because I had thought it was priced to move: Sig M11-A1, excellent condition, with box and everything it came with, including the wonderful lock. The gun is shown with E2 grips but the original grips are also included. It’s simply an outstanding firearm. Three magazines. SOLD

Didn't the VT500 originally come with a rectangular headlight? That was such an '80s feature. This one looks much nicer than the VT500s I remember.

I have the basic model with a Vortex red dot. It's everything Garufa says it is. Totally fun. Cheers, Whisper

I still have a Rockchucker and use it occasionally, but if you shoot in much volume you will want a progressive press like the Dillon 500 series, which is what I most often use. It will cover almost all handguns and the most common medium length rifle cases (mine won't do .45-70, for instance). I agree with Grayfox 54 that looking for used equipment is a good idea -- I've seen some remarkable deals. Good luck, Whisper

I've had good luck with my Kodiak and would recommend it without hesitation. Cheers, Whisper

Last I checked, the UK and Japan aren't the same as Austria. My point, perhaps too subtle for you to follow, was that it's ridiculous for an Austrian to claim the US can't make great products anymore. Many countries, including Austria and the US, have different areas of industrial excellence, and areas where they are less competitive with other nations. Austria, for example, imports most of its food, while the US leads the world in food exports. Not surprisingly, US agricultural equipment (especially John Deere and Case) also leads the world. The US is also the global leader in construction and mining equipment (Caterpillar). Five of the top 10 medical device manufacturers in the world are American. And while I'm sure the Austrian military is proud of its Glocks, guess which country makes the Huey, Kiowa, and Blackhawk helicopters and the C-130 transport planes used by the Austrian Air Force? Just because it's popular in some circles to say the US can't make anything nowadays, that doesn't make it true. Cheers, Whisper

P365 with 10-round mag for pocket carry, or P365XL for appendix carry, depending on what I'm doing that day, plus a pocket knife of some kind (most often Swiss Army), POM pepper spray, and Streamlight Microstream.

Hmm. I'm sitting here trying to think of great Austrian medical advances of the past 25 years, and wondering where there's a dealership that sells Austrian cars, and for some reason nothing comes to mind.
