Vortex Crossfire II, Bushnell AR BDC or Leupold VXR
SupaRice replied to I am Groot!'s topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I too have had mainly Luepold scopes on everything, but I'm looking at this for pretty much the same reasons you are: http://www.burrisoptics.com/scopes/fullfield-tac30-riflescopes-series/fullfield-tac30-riflescope-1-4x24mm -
I'm not sure.... but I think he want's to find them boys.... pretty bad. https://youtu.be/m1lc7i7BaG8

Yeah, I don't really see the point of that... Never understood why an ACOG needed one either.

So I saw the Valor ridge video where Reid is going over his SPR rifle and the Vortex optic he has on it. I really like the idea of a setup like that, but the optic he is running is like $1,300 or so.... too rich for me! What do you guys like for this kinda setup? I was looking at this minus the reflex sight.... Thoughts? http://www.burrisoptics.com/scopes/fullfield-tac30-riflescopes-series/fullfield-tac30-riflescope-1-4x24mm

Well... the rule was "that you have in current inventory" =\ The farming part I struggle with... you gots to have the room to begin with. And if you have have enough, you'll have enough to be a target. And don't matter if you're a pro, battle hardened badass... or even you and all your buddies are... you'll have to win every time. They'll only have to win once. Forage? Maybe I guess... I'm not an expert on that stuff, but I imagine TN is a hard place to forage enough to live on during the winter months. My thought is after the first year, the population would be thinned out pretty heavily so contention for resources should smooth out at some level. Anyway, don't get all pissy... this was supposed to be fun!

Bonus points for use of the word "Felcher"! hahaha

Bell just rang (half you old farts are asleep)..... you've just awoken to a bold new world. Post appacolyptic North America. Bug in not an option. You have time / transport capacity for one fire arm currently in your inventory. (Current ammo levels fictional and not a factor) What weapon is it for you to the bitter end? Why? I'll start. My Remington 870 12ga. Ammo on every shelf and in every sprtsmans locker. I can kill any food that has eyes, and up close defense it's a champ.

I've got a 2014 FX4 I leased for my company, it's got the 20's and the crap "A/T" factory tires... garbage. I HATE the 20's, but I do take mine off pavement... off roads, even just trails, you gotta have some squish to get anywhere. That said, the 20's make it handle a little better on the street... maybe.

Couldn't see directions on my phone... but if it's like all the others it's not a big deal. Any decent shop can handle that sort of thing, race shops do that kinda stuff all the time Only advice I have is to steer clear of 4 Wheel Parts!

Hehe, yeah YouTube free music... it was listed as "bright" & "upbeat" With two small boys running around our house, my wife was very happy for the snow to be gone!

I saw Carl's mentioned, definitely good! But not really Nashville, or even close to Nashville. ... hehe

Edley's is real good Jacks down off trinity lane is good and interesting experience B&C off Franklin Rd is pretty damn good, definitely the best brisket on a consistent basis I've found Judge beans in Brentwood is pretty awesome too, and I'd say 2nd best brisket Martin's is a cool atmosphere, but the food is mediocre. It's trendy and a neat place though. I've not been to the Nolensville spot, so maybe it's better My scores would be: Edley's #1 B&C #2 (close, I think they win brisket outright but fall down on other areas) Judge Bean's #3 Jack's #4 Everyone goes on about the peg leg porker, and the food I've had there has been good. But it's been really inconsistent, maybe that's due to the shear volume of food they make. I feel like Martin's probably suffers for the same reason.

You can get a permit as a land owner for them and hogs I think, it's in the guide

Went coyote hunting this morning...no luck
SupaRice replied to ehull20000's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Didn't hunt, but we had a bonfire by the river last night and heard them going crazy around 8:30.... looking to get after them during the next cold snap. -
I used to give still useable stuff away on The List Of Craig..... no more. Tired of dealing with the weirdos. I had a light fixture for a dinning room remodel for example, I had it listed as "free to whomever gets here first, it's by the curb" 2 days later this dude emails me over and over wanting to know what other free stuff I have... and when I told him we were fresh outta free stuff, please stop emailing me. He replies with an email that just says "Gay" I thought it was pretty funny actually, but also annoying. No more list for me.

2012 model is what I drove.... if you could find a decent low mileage example of that in v6.... That's a solid vehicle. Like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-RAV4-Limited-with-Navigation-/151909897860?forcerrptr=true&hash=item235e891684:g:6dQAAOSwNyFWeHHE&item=151909897860 That's a nice vehicle for that money for sure, leather, nav, v6 & AWD.... really low miles too.

I think I remember seeing a Motor Trend or some other article where they took a v6 Rav4 to the drag strip, It won like "the fastest small SUV" in their shootout or something. I was pretty impressed with the one I drove. I think the CRV is pretty close, and both have really good resale and very reliable. All Toyotas have good resale and are really reliable, I'll give them that. That's the only reason there's one in my garage.
-
Although, I should add that I drove a Rav4 that belonged to the wife's friend, and it actually was pretty peppy, and AWD.... Since the original post was about "small SUV". And the back seat had surprising leg room, which as you could imagine cut down on cargo space. No offense intended. Just my observations, based on my off-road time. I've met a lot of folks like you. The Land Rover guys feel the same way, and go about as far as the Yota crowd. :yuck:

Can't go wrong with a Subaru, we had a WRX wagon and it was solid. I've known a lot of people who have owned Subaru, all had stellar experience. If you get a Subaru, get the turbo. They've got power and are fun to drive. I saw Toyota mentioned, we have a 2010 SR5 4runner. Her dad has an old one with like 300k on it, from my experience everything you hear about Toyota and reliability is true. However, that being said I hate it. Every Toyota I have ever driven is woefully underpowered, even with the v6 (tundra excluded). The Tacoma is a cute little truck, but I've owned all kinds of trucks big and small and I can tell you first hand that a small truck isn't worth it. They don't give you any meaningful additional benefit in fuel mileage over a full size truck (f150 size), can't carry nearly as much as with a full size truck, and don't have any room inside of them. The Tacoma specifically has barely enough power to get itself down the road so pulling anything would be a nightmare. I have a 17 foot aluminum boat that I've pulled with her 4runner for example, and it's a PITA. And this statement is sure to draw ridicule ..... but the FJ as far as an off road vehicle is a joke. A used jeep off Craigslist for $5k will go further, if off road is what you're into.

FFL Application (Form 7) CLEO Signature Question
SupaRice replied to SupaRice's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Question is for my buddy.... I told him to just call the local ATF office. Ow there is confusion over whether a standard LE fingerprint card will suffice or if, as per the form 7, you have to use an ATF branded one.... seems like they could at least give clear and consistent directions for this stuff. Geezz -
Wait.... my .270 Weatherby Mag isn't on there!
