  1. All tacticool joking aside.... What should be looked for in a tactical vest? Definitely would like to hear from those that have served or have other real world experience as to what you found to work, and what didn't. Carrying a AR and a full size glock or other secondary, what would you look for in a vest? I would guess the goal would be able to store and easily retrieve multiple magazines, while also being able to easily draw your secondary and magazines for it. What features make that efficient and eliminate extra motions? What other tips? Suggest a brand/model? (within a reasonable price) I'm not really a prepper, and would mostly use it for practice.... but practice keeps you prepared right!
  2. Yeah, MBUS. Really!? Crap. Get what you pay for I guess, it was like half the cost of the all metal one. I plan on upgrading down the road to a full float hand guard rail, this was just to get things going.
  3. Ended up getting one. Academy Sports had it on sale, so I swooped over there and picked one up the other day. Then put a few extras on it today. Just bought some MagPul backup sights to use for right now until I get a few more bucks for a reflex. Hopefully I'll be able to get out and put some down range this weekend.
  4. I was also considering getting a .22 AR or a 9mm AR. Who makes an off the shelf 9mm AR that is good? I've seen the M&P 15-22, and it looks pretty good, but I'd like to maybe have a 9mm version.
  5. Looking to buy a reasonably priced, reliable AR-15. I've been looking at the S&M M&P line. Reliability is an important factor for me. Anyone have an M&P? Opinions on them? Any others you'd suggest I look at in a comparable price range? http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_786010_-1_757784_757784_757784_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
  6. No carry permit No trunk in either of my vehicles? (Jeep / Truck) What's the legal way to transport my handgun, and ammo at the same time? I know it can't be loaded, and your supposed to separate weapon and ammo with one being in the trunk. But that's not an option for me since I don't have one in either vehicle. Weapon on the seat next to me, ammo in the locked glove box? What if your ride is a motorcycle?
  7. With a holster like the one in the last picture, do you find that your shirt tail comes out frequently? It might seem to be a dumb question, but I'm a n00b. This thread interests me too, as I've been thinking about getting a permit. But I have to dress with my shirt tucked in for work a lot, and I'm in and out of the car throughout the day.
  8. Horns blow, do the drivers! Dang, what an impatient people!
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome! By distance mean I'd like be able to shoot a couple hundred yards...
  10. Hello, New Member: Paul Where: Bellevue What: Been around guns all my life through my father, but don't really know much more than the basics. Bought this off a friend who has fallen on hard times. Looking to get some distance shooting in under my belt, is there a place near Nashville to do that?
