Dachau (and presumably others, but I've only been to dachau) actually housed liberated prisoners for an extended period of time after the war's close. They were ill, malnurished, and a lot of the places they called home prior to imprisonment laid in ruins... so there was no where else to go. How'd that make you feel, survive only to have nowhere else to go... if you were even able.

Shot some ducks last weekend, that was the closer.... Now it's on to Coyote and I think I'll be doing turkey for the first time this year. Fishin never stops... but it gets more comfortable here soon for sure... Time to knock the dust off the kayak.

Had a great time... Beautiful weather, 2 days hunting fish ponds. I ended up with a new gun that I've been coveting for some time when we went to the sporting goods store: Browning Maxus 28" in Bottomland :) http://fortthompson.co/ Fort Thompson Sporting Goods. Good folks, great service. Highly recommended. Great prices too, gun was $300 less than at big box stores. Not as big of a store as Mack's Prairie Wings if you've been there, but it's a lot better service for sure.

So our Samsung DMT800RHS dishwasher is now not working.....again..... It won't spray water, doesn't even seem to try (no audible pump sounds failure or otherwise) but if you cancel the wash cycle it will pump all the water out and drains fine. Wife had called the repair company due to having a warranty, to find out that the warranty had expired Anyway, I wasn't home so I didn't get a chance to talk to the tech... but he said it needs a new "sub sump assembly" (on the quote ticket). Part is listed on the quote at $280.00 +tax + about $200 labor. I'm fairly handy, cars, computers, all sorts of widgets... Just don't do appliance repair on the regular, but I know how much finesse can be involved.... Looks like maybe this is the part I need? http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/Samsung/Dishwasher/DD94-01004A/0022/401/Model-DMT800RHSXAA/1482/0130000 And this is how to access it? http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=13693.msg83076#msg83076 Am I on the right track here? If I'm running into disaster, back me off the ledge. I'm not scared to get in there and work on that dude, doesn't look terribly difficult. What am I in for here?

Last night again... I think they must have a den close by. That hedge is about 5' wide and there's basically a tunnel down the middle, it's more like two hedges that have grown together. It goes about 80 yards and mostly along my fence on one side. A pretty good row of woods (for middle of green hills anyway) about 20'-100yds wide at the end of it weaves it's way between neighbors lots for about 1/4 mile and ends at a creek.... They appear to be in good health anyway.

I saw two coyotes the other night too, over by the green hills library... right in the middle of town for sure

After the recent trail cam pictures on here I figured I'd try to catch a few of the foxes I know run through my yard all the time.... in the middle of Green Hills

I'm from the eastern shore originally, family moved here when I was a kid.... My mom and a bunch of family still live up there. The general population is not in line with their laws, a lot of sportsman up there... They're just too tightly tied to DC. Sucks. They're not kidding about the cameras and monitoring though... Every patrol car, cameras along all the highways.... It's definitely a police state in that neck of the woods.

Sent one back, they fixed it, cleaned it, sharpened it..... sent it back in a flash.

Reported it also... that is seriously irresponsible.

Ha! Fooled you! Those are really the gas station 12ga pocket knives! Top tier kit, for the last resort situation.

I love this part: What if it's a regular cab truck, jump into the bed!? What if there's a topper!? Should I roll under the truck!? :panic:

Where do you guys get the FFL pickup at in or around Nashville?

I have a Remington Super Slug: http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-870/model-870-sps-shurshot-synthetic-super-slug.aspx Savage makes one that looks pretty good, and the price is right. http://www.basspro.com/Savage-220F-20-Gauge-Rifled-Barrel-Slug-Shotgun/product/10218652/ I probably would've gotten that one if it had been available when I bought my Remington.... But then again, I've shot deer at 118 yds with my Super Slug and it's DEAD ON out to 150.... And I like the 870. Browning makes this one: http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/family.asp?webflag_=026B&catalog_=B I like it A LOT.... but it's too much $$$ for a 12ga IMO. It's a handful at times, very heavy so it's not a great gun to tote around all day. But man, it gives IMPRESSIVE damage at 120+ yds. I shoot these in it: http://www.hornady.com/store/Superformance-Slugs They're expensive... but dead on and cause massive damage. If you're interested in keeping the pelts on those dogs, maybe not the best option. I shot a doe at 120-130 yds with it last year, pulled the shot a bit and hit her in the spine. When I got to her there was spine hanging out, and it looked like a bucket of blood was dropped all over the place. A hole the size of a softball on her. Backstrap was just about completely ruined.

I carry an XDS in .45.... And I know there are a ton of haters that will hate because it's a .45 and also because XDS has fanboy status.... But the first time I picked one up and shot it... I knew that was going to be the carry gun for me. I was immediately effective within self defense range for consistent vitals placement in a decently quick fashion. I have a .40 for the house, because my wife can shoot it better than she can a .45 and it has a higher capacity. I don't post on here much, and almost never on topics like this..... But in my humble opinion, and I'm most certainly not the most qualified member on here..... I bring the biggest that I can still be effective with. More damage to bad man is always better. If I could daily carry a 12ga and be effective with it.... That's where I'd go next.

I'm just wondering why the can't make enough... And to answer your questions, I just got a .22 rifle in a trade the other day from another member. That's the first .22 I've owned, call me a weirdo, but I just never had one. Anything I kill takes more than .22, or is just plain easier with a shotgun. Mostly traded him because it was a cool gun and will be fun for my sons and nephew to shoot. So although I was unaffected by the craziness since I had plenty of 5.56 and the other calibers I need.... I've just not bought any .22 up until now. AND STILL HAVEN'T! I guess I'll look at PSA and such.
