I have 4 of these and they work very well. If you are doing photography editing etc may not be the best. I have a Samsung monitor for that.

If they have major medical be sure they check with them as most offer support and counseling for things like this. Burnout can happen very quickly. Especially for mom who is probably in hyperdrive with fear, worry, etc. One day at a time!

I'm the wrong person to give an opinion because I've never met a lever gun I didn't like. Lol. I have both Marlin and Henry levers in 357. Both are great guns a IMHO you can't go wrong with either. I collect the old Marlin levers so I am partial to them but I'm starting to get an extensive collection of Henry's also. So my recommendation is buy both. Hahaha
