  1. My wife witnessed a gentleman at Weigel's the other morning had on mask, gloves and making a big effort about staying away 6 feet. He does all this and she said he got a coffee, went over to the soda fountain and got ice in his "gloved hands" and put it in his coffee. Yes he had touched everything with his gloves, maybe they had time released sanitizer. LMAO
  2. I will state if you carry you definitely need carry insurance. It will be $50-$100k at a minimum to defend a good shooting, can be 10Xs that if you kill someone.
  3. Welcome to TGO!
  4. This was the reason for the post!
  5. After spending a Saturday recently with @Cool hand Luke(review to come soon, short version absolutely fantastic) I ask the above question about the recent knife attack and murder of 3 Pilot employees and wounding of a customer. The question assumes you are concealed carrying. Would you engage if you had an escape route for yourself? One of the best parts of our day with @Cool hand Lukewas the thought processes we must make as we go about our daily lives. I know what my actions would have been that day. Well at least based upon what I've read. You do not need to defend or explain your answer if you choose. You don't even have to post your answer. So I ask each of you, Would you engage if you had an open escape route for yourself (and family if with you)?
  6. 64% of the country lives paycheck to paycheck. Regardless of income level also. I know several people that make 100k a year and are paycheck to paycheck. I hope this is a wakeup call for many. If you add in how many have only 1-3 months of savings that number will scare you.
  7. Already have business clients running into this issuewith employees. New excuse is afraid to work due to the virus.
  8. Welcome to TGO. Glad you are getting training. NEVER stop training. So many people get a gun and get a little training then never do anymore. To me that's worse than not having a gun at all. Shoot Point Blank is a great facility. Use it a lot. You can shoot slugs in the Shotgun there.
  9. I stop in this pilot a lot. And people wonder why I never ever go out without at least one concealed most of the time two. Have a good friend drives for Tyson Chicken. We were just messaging about this very thing. I know he goes to Chicago twice a week. He's doesn't go alone.
  10. I've got the ARRL books for General and Extra but I think I like this guy's no-nonsense books better. https://www.kb6nu.com/. Also HamStudy.org great for practice tests.
  11. HamStudy.org for practice and this guy has a free pdf of his technician book which is good. https://www.kb6nu.com/
  12. Yes. No longer need Morse code. Funny I still remember about half my Morse code.
  13. KO4CYX Been wanting to do this for a couple of years. Finally got it done. Plan on getting General and Extra knocked out over the next couple of weeks.
  14. Clouds moved just in time here. In case you don't know..... 17,150 mph or 4.8 miles per second Yes space is a passion of mine.
  15. If anyone's interested the space station is going over tonight. Your time may be a minute or so different. Always cool to see the space station go across the sky. SUBJ:SpotTheStation MSG:Time: Sun Apr 05 9:19 PM, Visible: 3 min, Max Height: 85 degrees, Appears: NW, Disappears: SE
  16. This was posted earlier today by a friend in a boating Facebook group I am in. People need to be smart (I know, that means we are screwed). Just thought I would give everyone a heads up that’s hitting the lakes right now I just left the canal and spoke with Officer from TVA as I was leaving and they are definitely watching the ramp and bigger ramps to make sure people are doing things safe and how they have been advised to (and he never came right out and said he was there watching and counting people etc. but was kinda obvious where I was standing what was going on) there was about 4 boats all at the dock where they had just put in and 5 or 6 all standing on docks taking as they were entering there boats and he said that right there is what’s gonna get ramps closed if they aren’t careful so they are watching , even if agencies are telling you to get out and enjoy the waters they also want you taking precautions and not group up they don’t wanna see people standing around talking they want you to put your boat in when coast is clear and get in your boat and leave and if someone is on ramp when u get back stay away till they leave then go get your vehicle and load and not be out congregating and yes he stopped and talked to me but I was in back corner of the parking lot alone and he was well over 10feet awAy and never got out of his vehicle just little heads up guys and please don’t test them or push them till they shut it down completely like some other states have already done they really do want everyone to get out and enjoy the water but they want them doing it the right way during all this mess. be safe !
  17. There was an April fool's report stating ramps were closed and all boating suspended. Fake. According to the TWRA app just now all ramps are open.
  18. Welcome to TGO! Great group of people on this forum!
  19. I agree the smart thing would have been to cancel but I also and way more concerned about the possible prosecuting. We are starting to slide on a very slippery slope. As stated earlier the "Essential" business listing is a relative joke. We either need to shut down everything or just deal with the consequences. After reading 3 or 4 essential business list from states, counties, etc I just shook my head.
  20. And this is why I don't trust the government to take care of anything. They just now decided this was a good idea. https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2020/s038-travel-advisory.html
  21. Already read many articles of scams cranking up. And our local PD has posted about it on social media.
  22. Welcome to TGO!
