  1. This reminds me of the scene in 'Demolition Man' where the new cops are following the script from the computer and the following happens: [Police Officer talks to his automated assistant] Squad Leader: Maniac has responded with a scornful remark. automated assistant: Approach, and repeat ultimatum in an even firmer tone of voice. Add the words, "or else".
  2. Whats in the box right now?
  3. Mission trip to the Philippines. I got a chance to enjoy this delicacy.
  4. Link to the new version. I don't know how to embed.
  5. Interesting. I have a friend and he can shoot bulls eyes with his mosin at 100 yards but can't hit anything with the sights on the 24/47... I'm not really sure why but I definitely prefer the mauser sights over the mosin.
  6. I actually prefer the Yugo Mauser... The ammo is a bit more expensive but I find Mine to be more accurate than the mosin's I've shot...
  7. Got mine this last monday. It took 3 weeks from the time I mailed it to get it. The money was taken from my account after 1 week then 2 weeks of waiting. Now it's time to find the list of all the place to send it to.
  8. Charlie's is the only place my friends and I shoot anymore. The place is laid back... Charlie is a great guy that provides all sorts of extras he really doesn't have to (Low end spotting scopes sitting around.. glasses to borrow... foam disposable ear buds if you need them [new in the package].. etc)... If anyone is reading this that doesn't know.. Charlie's is the place to be... Ask nice and he might show you where he keeps the clay throwers.
  9. Now my drink is all over the keyboard.. thanks.
  10. but I've also seen people read a newspaper and drive with their knee... Eat some fast food and drive with their knee... Shave and drive with their knee... Put on makeup and drive with their knee.. TALK on the phone and drive with their knee Various combinations of the things above... should we write laws for all of these? I guess I better get on the horn and tell my representative to start working on getting these laws passed also /sarcasm
  11. OK - I thought being a reckless driver would cover this.. but lets pretend for a moment this was necessary... How do you police this? I'm looking into my lap and touching something.. am It texting? am I search for a restuarant on my phone? Perhaps I'm sending an instant message using AIM for my 3g enabled phone - Is this texting (Haven't read the exact wording of the law)? It doesn't use the same technoogy or service as a 'text' does. How do you know I'm not fiddling with the phonebook trying to call somone. Am I tryiong to type in my GPs location? The list of things you COULD be doing go on and on. This seems like some elgislation to give politicians somethign to talk about when they campaignf or re-election and nothing more. They can't possibly expect police to enforce this... and not to mention all of the judges that wll through out the fines when somone comes into the courtroom and says "I was trying tor ead the address for my appointment" and the officer's only evidence to the contrary is that "she was looking down and I saw her fingers moving on the screen"... Any LEOs have thoughts on this? Am I way off base here?
  12. I think, perhaps, you are mistaken about this 'waiting period' there is no waiting period in TN that I know of.. and I've bought a number of firearms at gunshops.
  13. Ah - I suspect it is mostly southern states? My guests where from Ohio... They reported an over abundance of ammunition in the walmart the visited. I am only thinking that it might be easier if you are already expecting guests from out of town to have them do a quick check.
  14. Don't know if this is possible for you but I had some ffolks coming in to visit form out of town. There is no shortage of ammo elsewhere so they brought me about 10 boxes of 8$ blazer 9mm from their local walmart
  15. You'd think so... but lets take, as an example, Franklin Gun shop.. Huge selection.. prices are still ridiculous. They have a 700$ SKS on the rack 'nuff said.
  16. +1... In the last couple weeks when I've seen ammo at walmart (blazer 9mm) It's been the same 9$ a box
  17. Just checked the South Nashville (Nolensville Rd.) Walmart - They had 1 boy of 7.62x39 (40 rds for 30$) and no handgun ammo to be had. Lots of 22lr though if thats your thing. Also, lots of rifle ammo of various calibers.. 308 - 223 - etc
  18. Right 7.62 - I think the 6 key on my keyboard is failing
  19. Where is the best place to buy some 7.62x39 ammo around the Nashville area? Maybe a couple hundred rounds.
  20. +1 - Those golfers just took some ear damage... That was ncie of the show's producers - hope they counted that in the budget
  21. Winchester 53 I think... My mom is a manager for a bunch of apartment complexes. They were cleaning an apartment that someone had abandoned and found in the wall a barreled receiver with a smashed up stock. Bought a new stock and it shoots like a beauty!.
  22. Well, I thought about taking it back but it irks me that the gunsmith marked the work order as 'ok' without any details about what he did. Maybe if they detailed some work they had done because they thought it was the problem. But nothing. I feel like, right now, I paid 50$ to have somone eyeball and say 'looks good' after I explained the problem in pretty good detail on the work order when I dropped it off.
  23. So, my pistol is having an awful time extracting and I dropped it at a local gunshop to have it fixed and they said fine it'll be done in 2 days. 9 days later they said it was done and charged me 50$. I took it out to the range and it CLEARLY wasn't fixed. The gun still fails to extract about 1 out of every 5 rounds. I think I am going to do a chargeback on my CC let the shop know I won't be shopping there anymore and take the pistol to a different gunshop that has gotten lots of rave reviews from everyone I know. Does this seem like ana cceptable course of action?
