Hopefully we'll never see this. I think they we're almost extinct at one time. maybe not extinct but a very small population. After all look at the geese and they're still protected
-
Good pic "just hangin' out"

I think what I have is the "night herons" I think the "green heron" is a little smaller with a little more color we have seen some of these also. I could be wrong because I'm no expert on wild ife just going what they look like . I remember when I first moved here you rarely saw a "blue" and if you did they quick to move on now as you see there's plenty and not near as skiddish

We rent out the house next door that we own. Our danes can't go ther over because of invisible fencing. Last year we had droves of the miserable creatures. I found out the lady was feeding them.Only after We put down fresh sod "blue grass and fecue combo their favorite" did I find this out. The yard was rank with the smell as I was watering the sod daily I nicely requested not to feed . But what I did was run some weed eater line about 12" to 15" above the ground around the bank .we have rip rap. this discourages them from coming in from the lake they don't like the line and won't cross it. It won't stop them but it will slow them down. Thats best that I can come up with. Wildlife is pretty picky about how you get rid of them.

This would be a good thing "Not the butt probe" But they might pass on us thinking there would easier planets to explore.

No they are called "night herons" although we do see some kingfishers ever so often. I guess I'm blessed to be able to see all theses creatures , but I'll pass on the geese don't care anything about having them in my yard. "Grass killing crap machines"

A few more one for the green footed coots and last gulls that headed back somewhere

Done deal I capped the ground. just slid a connecter over it and crimped both ends. I may want to you the motion feature in the future They've been known to ease in by water and steal things around here.

Thanks guys I hate to be stupid but My hot line has the black , white and the bare copper. I just had the switch turned off and taped off with wire nuts on the end for years now that I redid a section of dock I figured my go ahead and put up a light since I already had a switch with wire I've never just seen a light or anything with out a ground . I had an old halgen that came off the garage that I replaced but it didn't have a ground and had the cloth like covering on the wires plus it put off major heat when it was on.so I was scared of it. This house was started by an engineer in 1964 him and his wife built it by themselves They used it for a ocasional lakehouse They never finished it and sold it in 1990 I lived next door and new them very nice people but some of the things are a "little odd" to say the least Sorry off topic

I just bought an outdoor cheapo motion light. The light doesn't have a ground it only has a black and white. It gonna be mounted on a wood pole with a switch on the pole. This was already in place from another light. Do I cap the ground, wrap it around one of the mounting screws or take it back. I 'm mainly going to flip off and on as needed its next to the lake so I really don't plan on using the motion because pi**ing off the fishermen. I hate being stupid but electricity scares me espicially next to the lake. BTW I checked the reviews and everybody was more pleased with this light than any of the pricier ones. the down side it just looks cheap "plastic"

Is there any way to get a boat looked at before you buy?
laktrash replied to a topic in General Chat
boat owners get rid of boats alot of times for good reasons not just because its worn out they want bigger, smaller. faster, better economy ,don't go to the lake any more, easier yo load , inboard . outboard and so on .Boaters are never satisfied. I counted I've owned 10 boats nothing wrong with any of them that I sold just wanted change. down to 2 at the moment. -
Thats good to know. Bills outpost who I was wanting to use

I was surfing GB and seller states that for this sale your FFL must accept transfer from individual. I didn't think it worked that way . Is it up to state law or Is it up to your local FFL. How does this exactly work . I'd hate to bid on something "As bad as I hate to buy on GB" and not be able to complete transaction

By all means have him take you out in it. Depending on where you plan on using it a 14' is fairly small and with all the boat traffic it gets pretty crazy "sometimes unsafe". A pontoon might be an option more stability and a little less maintenance. and alot more room, maybe a little more hassle to tow. Usually can be found priced right -
I still say it was a black bear on crack "skinny and quick"

yep marine surveyor is the way to go. But I've bought several boats and never used one . I 'm not boat smart just been lucky I guess Boat pricing is Great right now You can buy one right especially in the performance line. Thats the reason I still have my twin engine Cat. -
congrats to the both of you ! I've got 19 under my belt and wonder everyday how I ended up being blessed with such a wonderful wife. although I did take a very short horrible trial run thru hell with my first attempt

What about a "Quick skinny black bear"
