Think I let the dealership take me for a ride...

At least there are some good mechanics. I'm afraid the medical profession has taken the political route. Self-serving, noncaring, all about the money and controlled by the drug companies. -
I saw this earlier if this doesn't bring tears to your eyes somethings wrong

I don't blame the mechanic as much as the the service writer and service manager, he's the one "selling" the work. The mechanic for the most part doing whats on the repair order. I try to use someone i know personally opposed to dealership. -

I worked at a Buick dealership in the 70's as a service writer. I was young and didn't know anthing about cars, but it didn't seem to matter . The service manager was a crook. He wanted you to load up people. Example, belt or hose "specials" The special was to replace all the belts or hoses. The kicker was it was cheaper to replace them one at a time. I think "cracked" flywheels were another big deal. I can't remember some of the other shams.I didn't have the heart to load up the blue hairs and their buicks. They finally moved me to parts and brought in his son-in-law in to replace me.I was happy because it was the only job that ever had where when I got off on friday was already dreading mon. The local chevy dealer tryed to screw me on some injectors. To make it a short story they replaced the injectors on my dura max to the tune of $2000+ and in the process I got a fuel leak That they didn't repair. I didn't have when I took it in so I shouldn't have it when I picked it up. Right? They said age related. This was after 3rd trip back and me trying to pick on saturday at no charge. Wrong, got there woudn't let me have my truck until I coughed up another $240 and everybody involved was gone. I pitched my fit and paid. I contacted GM and told my story. The lady called me back and told me she "didn't like the answers she was gitting" from the service manager and was going to get her supervisor involved. Anyway they contacted me and said that was a bullentin on these injectors and I would get my $2000 + back "he was going make more profit" but not the $240 I was still pi**ed but 2 grand was better than 2 hundred. I had done business for years with this dealership but won't set foot in the place again. Each dept "service, body, etc" is set on individual profits so if they can screw somebody it helps their dept. one more story from buick A guy bought a brand new (bronze brown) T-top regal in 70-72. Really nice guy I even remember his name. Anyway he had in for sevice and the lot boy backed into his door. Buick agreed to repair, It looked awful. The shade was way off, I mean wwaayy off .the body shop manager said that was good as it gets and woudn't paint the whole car. The guy went off had factory rep look at it. They just said same paint #. As far as I know they never made it right. I was sick for the guy brand new car with a 2 tone door -
Looks like they can be found in the sub $500 bracket buy one enjoy it if you get tired of lose a few bucks for the fun. You can't get hurt real bad in this price range

I've had good luck here. You have to watch the yahoos who try to overprice. When I was working in Cookeville I several deals with local LEO all seem to be great guys. You might run across a smarta** every so often, but isn't that life in general ?

Thanks NRA !! For reducing the font size for me on the old dog story
-
There's one on GOC right now ad# 97985 I don't know if thats a good price or not. I'm not familiar with the pricing

I use to ship alot of things UPS. They told that they don't pay attention to the "fragile" label and a good test is to drop it from the waist. I had damaged parts from Cal found it was easier to work with shipper to get repaired than UPS. Sad but true

The movie or series ? http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/In_the_Heat_of_the_Night_(TV_series)

I don't know. but I don't know how many times I've watched the same shows over and over. I love everything about it, the times, ideals and scenery. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Seems he always carried big caliber weapons. He used a desert eagle a few episodes and looked like the short barrell revolvers were always cannons

Another long ride to Cookeville probably as close as Chattanooga from Oak Ridge but this place use to have them a good price I don't know about now. GI depot GI Depot, Surplus Clothing, Cutlery, Martial Arts Gear, Camping and Survival Supplies
-
I agree with this. I stated earlier that they would run at the first shot which I still believe, but with the mentality of these hoodlums there is a very good chance some would be packin'. You can rest assured if you shot one moma and all backers would be all over you for shooting her innocent little baby especially if race was an issue

I love my duramax over 200,000 miles on it plan on keeping a lot longer. The downside is maintence is expensive and need to find a good diesel mechanic
-
I believe the OP was "around Maryville" So Green Acres Aka little mexico would be close. Not starting an argument but with Alcoa and Maryville being twin cities its in the ballpark
-
Yep thats the way I remember it. I haven't been there in years
-
The info I got is it green acres and they're really not supposed to sell firearms but that is an "ocasionally" some rifles or shotguns out there. Nothing you would make special trip for but if you like flea markets you might find something.
-
Yes thats the one. I got a buddy that his father goes out there all the time. He's also a gun trader, he would know. I'll try to find out later today the story on the place.
-
I don't if its true but if so it would think it would have to be the one on Alcoa highway at lakemont. I can't imagine it would be worth the trip, but again I don't know.

My wife scares me to death riding with her.She skims a few mailboxes on the way home. I'll flinch and throw my arm up waiting for the glass to shatter. She'll ask "Whats wrong with you ? " I just mention the mailboxes.
