  1. We will be moving to Tennessee shortly just as soon as the house sells.  I will begin training so I will be legally a resident of my home state untl the house sells.  I believe I can use my LTCH for 6 months after establishing residency.  So it appears I am good to go while transistioning and going back in forth.  Also can some one please tell me if I can avoid the state mandated course with a CG-3029   Thanks every one looking forward to getting here.

  3. Funny but have done that already. That's fine for general info but its not going to tell you danger danger you wading into the shallow end of the gene pool. Case in point when we moved here we were looking at homes our realtor did not tell us by the way you don't want to live in starke county. On the web Knox Indiana looked great. Until you started asking questions. Lesson here before you go ask people who live there they have nothing to lose by being honest.
  4. [ quote name="rugerla1" post="1078829" timestamp="1387024672"]My in-laws live there and I love it, not cheap, but beautiful.[/qu o what's cheap? Not wanting to be rude but we are about 45 miles from the state of Chicago sarcasim intended. We have the following real estate taxes state and county state and county income taxes. Etc property taxes alone are about 3500 a year. So yes we are voting with our feet.
  5. Update got the job any one know any thing about Thompson station
  6. Thank you that was what i was looking for.  So while in process of moving there I will have a six month grace period
  7. no at present I have an Indiana operators license and a Indiana ltch we have a license to carry a handgun, here it is legal to cc or open carry because the law is silent on method of carry and simply states license to carry.   Thanks
  8. I have looked at the faq section,  Does any one know at what point you would be considered a resident in TN?  I know TN honors my ltch but I am wondering at what point I will have to obtain one from TN.   It would seem that as long as  I own real estate in my home state I should be ok with carrying in TN while in transission?   Thanks ever one I
  9. Wondering if I should stock up? Can someone please tell me the going rate for ammo such as federal wwb or umc? Around here its about $14.00 for 50 9mm fmj $21.00 for 45acp $18.00 for 380 acp. And $5.27 for 223 tulamo I know tulamo but my mini eats it with no issue. For brass it is about $9.00 for 20. I know the sales tax is 2% higher. So I was wondering it it would be worth it to pick some up before a potential move. Thank you
  10. Yes one 4th grader. We most likely will do a private school or maybe home school. My wife is a teacher k8 math and science. From what I can tell there seem to be a lot of transplants? So I am less nervous about the click factor. Where we are now it has taken us 5 years to become somewhat accepted. Mainly because we did not grow up here. Thanks
  11. I think we want to be south office is in Franklin we do not want to live in Franklin just using that az a reference point What is a zero lot line plot? Any one have any thoughts about college grove or nearby areas?
  12. Two moves ago we settled for a home in a subdivision never again. Ideally we would like 5 to 10 acres. Our Max budget would be about 250k. Ideally we don't want to reside in Franklin that is just where the office would be. Seems like looking at the map a northly commute would make more sense. I don't mind the drive just want to be able to find a home in a smaller rural area.
  13. Ok so a new job may be in the works. Things have progressed to the point where I need to do some research. Right now we live in a very 2nd friendly state. I have a range on my property etc. Potentially the job would be located in the Franklin area. Not being from the area I lack inside knowledge that others in the area would have. So here are my questions are there rural areas located with in driving distance? We were thinking of focusing on areas sw of Nashville. Also is it legal to shoot on your own property? Also I am looking to avoid any liberal areas. Thanks
