  1. It appears traffic is up in the area around here. So yesterday I was leaving later than usual for work so I was home until about 10:00 a.m. when I hear Buster growling barking and running full speed towards the gate. At 140 pounds I never have known him to move that fast. Turns out that someone thought it would be a good idea to open the front gate which is clearly posted and start heading towards the house looked like a couple of 20 somethings had decided to rethink that idea real fast. In Indiana no trespassing meant just that. Is. Something different here?
  2. So I got to use my new range the other day new Sr9 C and repaired Bersa both performed flawlessly. And I would be comfortable using them for Eec. But at any rate my range endede up being much deeper than planned so I now have an itch to install the red dot scope I purchased a while ago with perhaps a magnifier. Any one use one in the past gimmick or useful. Until now I have been really happy with the iron sights on the mini. Thanks
  3. A few days ago I finished cleaning a section of our barn and partioned off a section for our fowl. This am I went out to check on them a found a coon on the top I took some extra horse fence and ran it in two directions and nailed it down good and tight to make it varment proof glad I did. But after a good deal of effort with a extending painting pole I got it out of there. The thing was less than pleasant at came at me which a coupleof swings with the pole made it decide best to just move on. Turtleman I am not so is it legal shoot them on your own property? We are in unincorporated Wilson county. Thanks

  6. [quote name="Parrothead" post="1166067" timestamp="1404692397"]All, I'm looking for suggestions for a winter carry .45. I love the 1911 platform for the range but I prefer dao for carry. I have a XDs for summer carry but I know I can get away with more in the winter. Glocks typically don't "line up" right for me but I am considering a still considering the 30S with several hundred rounds training ammo. My question, what else should I be considering? Is there any other options out there in the "slightly larger than subcompact .45 market". I've had the smith m&p 45c and I still consider it a fine weapon and a viable option. Thanks in advance, Winter carry is there such a thing as winter here? I have carried a 1911 year round as well as a Berrerta 92G and a Ruger SR 9C. But I am a tall guy. How do you plan to Carry? Iwb owb? My suggestion would be to get a quality holster it will make all the difference in the world once you decide what to carry.

    Gong target

Anyone ever use them looks like they have one rated for 9mm to 50 bmg. Looks like were about $25.00 I. Was wanting to get something a little cleaner than soup cans. My berm turned into a pit so I have a lot more room for targets. Come fall I'm sure there will be a lot of leftovers pumpkins etc to blast away at but in the mean time?
  8.   yeah good luck on the left trying to sell that one...Simply reading the Federalist papers will refute that one in about 30 seconds or less!

We were there yesterday picking up some fishing supplies, my Son wants to go fishing I have never been so it seems like it might be a  good idea.  None the less I went past the gun section just because and Saw an elusive M1A I have been wanting one for quite some time and my wife has already given the green light!  But I am a bit hesitant about making such a purcahse at a big box store.  I really like to shop at independent shops, however I have not been able to find one at the local shops since we moved here.  I have checked some of the shops in Mt Juliet and Lebanon to no avail.  They were asking about $1600.00 for a standard model.  Thoughts?

Used to eat at the one in Indiana all the time. I asked the manager tonight if the franchise owner had an email or a phone number I could call about their anti 2nd ammendment policy. I was told I am sure he does. At that point I really did not have the patience to deal with it any more. So I just went on their corporate website and picked the store I wished to comment on and sent a brief polite email. I am sure it will filter down to the right store. I would guess the response will be something to the effect of while we value your business but..... But who knows will have to wait and see
  12. What time framing were you looking at and would it be a cash purchase? I am not sure but I think I might have a $20.00 off one but I am not sure if it is only good if you use tour Cabellas card.

Guess I will be going to Papa Murphy's from now on. Saw the gun buster sign on the door on Papa Johns. In Mt Juliet today. Even my wife and son were on board with taking our business elsewhere. I understand its their right to run their business as they see fit and I can respect that while refusing to spend a dime there.

    West Tn

Not real sure where the bashing of Memphis Gun owners came in?  My simple observation was that based on my exposure coming from the Midwest that things in West TN are very different.  Sorry just my observation and personal experiences.  When I am given a dirty look and racial remarks are mumbled by the person when I simply open a door for there  is a problem in my book.  Last time I checked it was the polite thing to do to open a door for a woman.  Guess I wont make that mistake again if the need ever arises to return to the area.  Again not stating that everyone is that way however I encounted more than a few rude people that Made me feel like I was in Chicago.     On the otherhand I did meet quite a few nice people around Selmer.  Specifically one person who is the local Buford Pusser historian.  Whom I spent about an hour speaking to about the Mcnairy Count legend.    Again not stating all people in Memphis are rude but my own observation is that the next time I have to go there I will elect to stay a bit east of Memphis and make the drive.

    West Tn

Traveled to Memphis today for work will be staying a few days. One thing I noticed is that people seem to be a bit more aloof. Absent are thank yous when you open doors for someone. Seems like there is just a different feel to the area. Last week I was in Knoxville for two days for work and people were very pleasant so is my perception off or are people just ruder the farther west you go?

    Stoping Power

Ok then I will start the caliber war then...you know the 60mm paint balls are much more effective at making a bigger splatter on the side of the barn then the smaller ones

  21. How much is enough? 5 by 7 should be enough? My berm is at least 5 feet deep and 7 feet tall. It has been rained on a few times now the dirt seems like it is one solid mass and grass is now growing on it seems like it should be good to go.?
  22.   so with that being said does it seem like $650 would be a fair price? Thanks Wish I could figure out how to add a picture that would help perhaps?
  23. No box It has a novac two dot rear site that are quite faded it does not appear to be adjustable?  The date is what is really puzzling me because it seems that it has been cleared up that it was made in 1981 Hmmm?
  24. I think I may have figured it out could it be a Practiacl model? from the picutures on the web it appears to be a mirror image just not sure what dates they were made?  If they were introduced in 1991 it still would not be possible i rember the slid saying some thing about Utah and made in Belgium
  25. What does the 245pz mean? It precedes the last 5 digits which begin with 80 Thank you
