Drove past there a few times when we lived in Indiana but never tried it. I am kind of trying to come up with a few things to try this summer.

    new long Gun

We may start turkey they are all over our property lately. We shoot together as a family much more so now that my son is getting a little older. He likes his 10/22 but has said he would like a lever action rifle. Not sud if they make them but I am going to see if they make a 410 in a lever action. Its mostly going to be a just because gun. Might as well get him started early. As I am sure its going to develop into a pattern lol.

  7. Well I picked up 3 boxes tonight and there were still quite a few boxes on the shelf. I almost felt bad about buying something I don't need but for a little more than $45 my friends son can just about shoot for a good part of the summer. Besides its not like those who were just getting interested in shooting in the past few years had any chance to slowly build their stock over time.
  8. Technically I tried to give them away have a friend whose son was missing shooting his 22. So I offered up a few bricks and he insisted on paying for them. needless to say I picked up three boxes here and will be sending them his way.
  9. Well I have sold a few boxes since I have been here. But just for what I paid for them. Was not really a profitable venture not like I got rich from selling 3 bricks for $45.00. I can say the weather stinks here though.
  10. Just wondering if some States are getting more than others? One week down for two weeks in Erie. So I had occaision to stop at Walmart to pick up a few things so I go through the sporting goods department and the literally have boxes and boxes of 22lr 325 rounds of Federal Automatch for about $18 a box. I have not seen them in Tennessee at all. The guy behind the counter said they always have them in stock. Just seems kind of odd.
  11. For me I am Anti levi Wrangles all the way. Still rember the day when their parent company supported peta demonstrations at IPRA events.
  12. Unincorporated area of Wilson county. We looked at the Springhill area one trip there on a Saturday afternoon and experienced the traffic first hand and we ruled it out. We havenfriends in Gladeville nice area. Plus with Wilson county you can be a short walk to the range. My advice would be to take your time. Good luck

    1911 low down

Yup Ruger won. Ended up getting the lightweight yesterday. Very impressed with it. Fit finish is excellent. For a production gun its all that. Very smooth out of the box it hitting at point of aim. Cleaned it before use no surprises. Accuracy was spot on. Issued ammo fed with out a single hicup. Sent about 250 rounds downrange seems to be very reliable recoil very manageable. Very nice good value for the money only change that will be done is the sight swap. Factory ones are nice just my personal preference. Is for night sights.
  14. Actually it sounds like an excellent idea I am all for it and I would propose that all criminals have their illegal firearms fitted with them. Really you cant fix stupid.
  15. How about accuracy?

    1911 low down

[quote name="SmokyBaer" post="1235994" timestamp="1422493035"]I'm anxious to see what the OP ended up getting after a month of chewing on the info... The DW fits all the criteria set but the new Springfields have some nice lines.  Still believe if a fella is patient a score on a used Baer Premiere II is the best deal out there.  Last year I found several for 1500. I think this year LB bumped their prices a lot tho.  So much for a best value on high ender Still chewing lol. However I have had several trips to the range with the professional very well balanced seems to perform as advertised. But for personal carry I prefer the commander length on government size frame. The officer size just does not fit my hands. So no decisions made yet. I have narrowed it down to three. Dan Wesson guardian. Has everything I want but pricey. Stir Ranger II. Discontinued but still available. Contender but about $1275 and would want to change out front sight which puts it. at. more than the Dan Wesson. Ruger Night Watchman well balanced has nitride finish night sights alreadt there. Grips would need to be changed out not a big deal not too costly Ruger sells the exact ones I like. Seems to be a good value for the money. But I wonder about the durability of the finish on the stainless. So realistically its between Ruger and Dan Wesson.

Does anyone know if its posted? Thank you
  19. That was one of the criteria when we were looking for a church. Understanding you are in church and should be safe. But you should also row to shore in a storm. I have even been asked to carry openly in church and I volunteer my time as well.
  20. Have you considered a Yanmar? We have a 32hp diesel. Wont break the bank and very versatile.
  21. Yes both of them (not the lightweight) there is a really nice store in Indiana Blithes sporting goods a gun store that sells sporting goods downlstairs. When we were thinking about picking up a SR 1911 almost two years ago the owner of the shop let us fire each of them at the time. We decided to go with the 1911. Partly because it was a 1911. At the time she thought it looked nice so we bought it. Its still nib in the safe. Just cleaned lubed and ready to go in about 11 years. We bought it for my son. The whole thing led to her getting a Sr22 at the time. Which believe it or not was my first choice for her to carry! Because she wanted it and learned to shoot it and she carried it all the time. So yeah I am very proud of her and will support her in her decision.
  22. Will let her know. I am going to sit on the side line on this one unless she asks. She really likes her Rutgers so my guess we will be ordering one in short order.
  23. Initially she was not anti but nut really into guns either. She decided a 22lr would be ok for her then over time went with the Sr9c which has been great. She is usually always cold except in the heat of summer so she always has a fleece or some thing on so she carries owb. So yeah I will be ordering her one right quick. They look like they offer a lot of features for the money.
  24. My wife has gone from a SR22 to a SR9C Now she wants a 45 she is looking at two either the SR 45 or get this she likes the Ruger Lightweight aluminum Commander.
