I've been a fan of the 10mm since I was a kid in the 80s even if I didn't know what it was. Want to guess why? ;)

Incident at Rural King...nothing happened
FortKnox replied to FortKnox's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I was fairly calm until he told me I should get my green card before my license which is what set me off. -
Today was backing out of a parking space at Rural King. I was looking back the entire time when a man and his little girl come from behind the big SUV next to me. And slams his hand on my spoiler yelling for me to stop. Then gets on the passage side and says I almost hit him and his girl. I tell him I didn't cause I was watching when they came from behind the SUV. Then he told me I shouldn't be wearing sunglasses if I can't see. I tell him whatever. Then he tells I should get my green card before I get my license. What the hell? The I just tell him to fuck off. And then his says he should just drag me out of my car and beat the shit out of me. At this point I need to get out of here cause I really don't feel like pulling out my gun and making things worse. So I tell him to fuck off and I haul ass out of there. And maybe it was just me he seemed kinda drunk to but, whatever. Thoughts?

No I'm not self righteous I just can't excuse or see how anyone can leave a gun in a public place like that. Just like I can't see how anyone can forget a child or pet in a hot car. And as for cops leaving the gun belts they should face the same punishments as us civilians that leave guns in public places.

I'm half joking and half serious but, I just can't excuse someone who leaves a loaded gun in the bathroom. It's not like your wallet or keys, which I would turn in but, something that can cause serious trouble if found by the wrong person.
-
The past couple of months people from Police to Secret Service to armed citizens have made the news for leaving loaded handguns in public bathrooms so my question to you is what would you do if you found a handgun in the bathroom? For me it depends on the gun. Either I'm keeping it or saling it at a gun or pawn shop for a profit. My thinking is if you leave a loaded gun where anyone can find it you deserve to lose it. ;)

Here's an offer that might sweeten the deal. http://gearup.springfield-armory.com/XDS-Summer.asp I was looking at a Shield 9 but, this might change my mind.

For the 80s kid in me, if it's good enough for Ricardo Tubbs then it's good enough for me. And for the adult I am today if it's good enough for Walter White aka Heisenberg then it's good enough for me.

What can I tell my father?
FortKnox replied to glowdotGlock's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
OK, I've read this on the internet so take it with a grain of salt but, I've read that some .38 and .357 revolvers will shoot the .38 super but, I don't know how true that is. -

I never carry with one in the pipe but, I carry a revolver so that might have something to do with it. :p -
Also, they didn't include the custom .45's the twins used.

You know if Colt was smart they would make a reproduction of the Python and sale it around 600 to 800 dollars and they would make a killing. Like what Smith and Wesson did with the Model 29 a few years ago.

Here's another story I thought I'd share with you. This happened in the summer of '13 right before I got my HCP. I was in line at Taco Bell when I looked over to my right and there was this big guy opening carrying. So, I decide to talk to him and ask him what gun he had. Which was a Ruger 1911 and then I told I had asked because my HCP was coming soon and I was looking for a firearm for carry. Then I was getting my order and he comes up and ask what gun am I going to carry. I told him I was thinking of getting a 9mm. At which point he tells I should really get a .45 because that's what has real stopping power or at the very least get a .40. I give him a WTF look and say I'll consider it and then leave.

Tenn. Lawmaker Proposes Second Amendment Tax Free Holiday By Chris Cannon. CREATED Jan 29, 2015 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Tennessee lawmaker has filed a bill that would create a Second Amendment Tax Free Holiday during the first weekend of September. State Senator Frank Niceley has proposed the idea to sell guns, ammunition and hunting supplies tax free during the weekend. "TWRA dues are the highest, higher than any state around us, and they're wanting to go up again this year, so I thought, give our sportsman some tax relief and stimulate some business that weekend," said Senator Niceley. The Republican from East Tennessee modeled the bill after similar legislation in Mississippi. "As high as everything is, I'd say a tax free holiday would probably be something a lot of sportsman would like," according to Senator Niceley. At the Nashville Armory gun range in South Nashville, one of the store's managers said the possibility of a tax free holiday would be good for business. "It would absolutely be a great thing for any firearms retailer in the State of Tennessee," said Leroy Farris of Nashville Armory. The price for many guns start around $500, not having to pay tax on that purchase could quickly add up. "In Tennessee, with the average sales tax pretty close to 10 percent in every county, it would be a substantial savings," Farris said. Louisiana and Mississippi currently have similar tax free holidays and they have created big business for gun stores. "It has supposedly increased sales up to 600 percent and that's a substantial amount when it comes to retail, in any industry, much less the firearm industry," said Farris. As it reads now, the bill would not have limitations as to amount of guns, ammunition and hunting supplies shoppers could purchase without paying taxes. Senator Niceley said the fiscal note, or the amount of money the bill would cost the state, hasn't been determined yet. Louisiana has had its Second Amendment Tax Free Holiday since 2009. Mississippi started it in 2014. http://www.jrn.com/newschannel5/news/Tenn-Lawmaker-Proposes-Second-Amendment-Tax-Free-Holiday-290286931.html

http://wkrn.com/2015/01/28/man-in-jail-after-trying-out-new-shotgun-shooting-out-windows/ NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man is in jail after allegedly shooting out an apartment window in south Nashville while “trying out” his new shotgun. The incident happened at the South Brook Apartments on Linbar Drive late Tuesday night. A woman who lives at the complex told police her window was shot out and she was injured by the broken glass. While police were talking to the woman they heard another gunshot. Police later caught up with 23-year-old Jerry Burkhart. A friend of Burkhart’s told police he had just gotten a new shotgun for his birthday, which was Tuesday, and was “dying to try it out.” According to the affidavit, Burkhart was also slurring his speech and smelled like alcohol. He also vomited several times on the way to booking, the report read. Burkhart, a convicted felon in Cheatham County, was charged with public intoxication, being a felon in possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $51,000.
