  1. The Bersa Thunder .380 with the Satin Nickel finish was the 1st gun I bought after I got my carry permit in '13. One of the guys at the range had one and was nice enough to let me shoot a magazine of it. Loved the way it looked and felt that I got one. But, when I got it the store was out of .380 and a lot of other stores to. And when I did found some it was about as high as .40 and I'm talking about target ammo here. After a few months I decided for something else and traded it in, unfired, for my LCR. I've been thinking of buying another but, the price of ammo keeps me from doing so.
  2. OK I was just at TN Gun Country when I started talking to this nice, young couple. He's in the military and was looking for a handgun for home defense and to eventually carry. Only problem is he's 19. The guy at the counter said it's illegal to sell a handgun to someone under 21 unless it's gifted or sold to them from an immediate family member. But, I've read on some webpages that an 18 to 20 year old can buy a handgun from a private sell and keep it in the house. So, which is it? Cause they seem like a nice couple and I have a handgun or two I'd be willing to sell them. Oh and get this, he's from outside of San Diego and she was from Boston, so they know next to nothing about guns. Geez I wonder why? :-P
  3. Can't believe what I saw the other day while getting gas at Speedway. Up pulls this car and all over the back was bumper stickers but, not just any bumper stickers but, gun ones, everyone of them. Either it was brand name ones, gun store ones, etc. My first thought was if I was a criminal looking for guns I know what car to hit or to follow home so I can break in at a later date. But, the messed up thing was the car itself. It was a very nice, newish car, not some old beater. I was in such shock I didn't even take a pic cause you really had to have seen it.
  4. Well it's that time again when we spend time with co workers outside of work for free food and more importantly, free booze aka the office Christmas party. So, does anyone have any fun stories of drunken random hookups, drunken fights, or drunken anything. I don't cause I quit going to holiday work parties after 2002 but, I'd love to hear your stories.
  5. Rural King has the EAA Windicator .357 snub nose on sale this week for $249, which is a damn good price for a .357. It seems like a good offer but, I really don't need another one when I have two Ruger's, the LCR and SP101 in .357. But, you can't have enough .357's. Does anyone have any experience with this? Cause the reviews I've read have been mixed at best.
  6. So I take it no one else has played this game yet. It isn't time consuming. You get an issue once every few hours and pick the answer. See how well you can run your nation.
  7. Depends on how I'm carrying. Pocket carry I'll use the urinal, IWB I use the stall.
  8. Here's the site to the game, I encourage everyone to sign up and see if you can run your own country. www.nationstates.net Here's my country, Knox Nation https://www.nationstates.net/nation=knox_nation The Democratic States of Knox Nation is a very large, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its frequent executions, smutty television, and anti-smoking policies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 149 million Knox Nationians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often. The relatively small government prioritizes Education, with Law & Order, Healthcare, and Defense also on the agenda, while International Aid receives no funds. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12.9%. The strong Knox Nationian economy, worth 11.2 trillion US dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Woodchip Exports, Soda Sales, and Tourism. Average income is 75,336 US dollars, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 228,744 per year while the poor average 19,281, a ratio of 11.9 to 1. The nation's infamous boot camp is more brutal than most battlefields, maximum security fish farms leave caged salmon pining for the fjords, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns. Crime is well under control. Knox Nation's national animal is the Dog, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

  10. There is an online game called Nation States, where you run a nation. You pick, the name, flag, currency, etc. Every few hours an issue comes and you have 2 to 4 options to pick from. They, in turn, effect, the economy, civil rights, etc. Or you can dismiss the issue Anyways, this is the one I got just now: The Issue This weekend, a citizen’s group calling itself Gun Owners of Knox Nation has petitioned Congress with a controversial bill making gun ownership compulsory. The Debate “This is a very important step to securing the rights and lives of our families and controlling the government,” urges noted gun ownership proponent Sasha Spirit. “Not only would it significantly decrease crime, but it would also effectively stop government tyranny in its tracks. Of course, this also means that every wacko and their cousin will have a gun, but don’t worry, you’ll have a gun to defend yourself from them, so it will all work out.” Accept “While the Gun Owners of Knox Nation have the safety and security of our people in mind, it would simply be impractical to enforce,” comments Police Chief Lauren de Vries. “A better option would be to legalize, and encourage use of, concealed carry laws, which would allow responsible citizens to keep firearms with them at all times, on their person, to kill any wacko or their cousin who they think is threatening them.” Accept “Compulsory gun ownership?! Concealed carry?! Are these fools nuts?!” rants an enraged Million Mummy March activist. “We don’t need any of these things! What we need is complete gun registration, so that the government can track down dangerous people, like those people who possess unregistered weapons.” Accept Dismiss This Issue FYI, I chose the concealed carry option.
  11. Well from personally experience a Ruger LCR or SP101.
  12. http://clarksvillenow.com/local/report-tennessee-ranks-first-in-nation-for-fatal-unintentional-shootings/ NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tennessee now ranks first in the nation for fatal unintentional shootings according to the most recent data from The Centers for Disease Control, compiled in a report by the Safe Tennessee Project. Previously, Tennessee ranked 9th based on statistics from 2013, when 19 Tennesseans died in accidental shootings. In 2014, the number jumped to 105. The Safe Tennessee Project said unintentional shootings involving adults most often occur when gun owners fail to clear the chamber before cleaning or handling firearms or when loaded guns are dropped. Unintentional shootings involving children most often occur when children gain access to unsecured, loaded guns that have not been safely stored, according to the report. “We’ve actually been aware of the new numbers for several months, but the increase was so dramatic that we wanted to confirm the numbers before reporting them,” said Beth Joslin Roth, Policy Director for The Safe Tennessee Project. “We reached out to the CDC who explained that the numbers in their national database were uploaded directly from the state health departments. We then reached out to the Tennessee Department of Health who checked their records and verified that the numbers were in fact correct.” The full report can be read on the Safe Tennessee Project website.
  13. Yeah..... good luck with that.

    Ruger or S&W

I'm bias so I would go with Ruger. I have a LCR .357 and a hammerless SP101 .357 with the 2.25 inch barrel.
  15. Yesterday at Easy Pawn they had a pair of Taurus .357 snub noses that looked to be in good condition. The 651 for $348 And the 605 for $248. While I'm not in the market for another snub nose .357 these do look like a good deal. But, it's a Taurus. So, what are your thoughts?
  16. Look where the gun is. That looks like something very bad waiting to happen.
  17. I have two, a LCR and a sp101 hammerless 2.25 inch
  18. A few weeks ago I bought a used Ruger hammerless sp101 .357 2.25 inch from TN Gun Country. I also went and picked out a box of the cheapest .38 practice ammo which was TulAmmo. When I got to the counter the lady told me how a few weeks ago someone with a S&W revolver used that ammo at the range and after a few rounds it expanded to the point that he couldn't get it out. So, they had to use a screwdriver to get the rounds out and she warned me about using it. So I ended up getting something else. So has anyone used this ammo in their revolver and had this problem?
  19. I don't get it man. You say you love the 10mm yet you don't have the greatest 10mm of all time, a Bren Ten, for shame. Of course, good luck finding one that worked.
  20. Well if you want to stay with the 9mm you could always get a 9mm revolver. Ruger has the LCR, Taurus has the 905, and Charter Arms has the Pitbull and that's just off the top of my head.
  21. Academy has a in store deal for Father's Day.
  22. Well that's awful to hear. Me and my family and neighbors well be going to it Saturday. We go to it every year or other year it's here.
  23. http://wavy.com/2016/05/22/police-thieves-target-gun-owners-in-hampton/ HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police in Hampton are warning gun owners to protect themselves against theft. The Hampton Police Division has seen an uptick in weapons stolen from cars and homes, according to Police Chief Terry Sult. Sult says suspects they’ve arrested have admitted to targeting properties with NRA stickers, military insignia and campaign signs that can tip criminals off to residents’ political values. The chief also says members of the military and law enforcement officers are at a higher risk. “We have seen youth targeting homes that have flags in front of their houses, who have military stickers, or any indication that a home may have a weapon …and being somewhat successful at that.” Hampton’s police chief spoke exclusively to 10 On Your Side earlier this week about anincrease in violent crime.
  24. Ah you got to live this town. Not. Thankfully nothing hasn't come for me. To the rest of you living here be careful. http://www.theleafchronicle.com/story/news/2016/05/03/thousands-get-licences-revoked-montgomery-county/83876730/
