Well I'm sorry if I have offended anyone with my views about the signs. I don't really know why I even brought it up because I never go in a store that has them up. I think what sparked me was the fact that recently I have noticed it is getting harder and harder to see the signs becuase it seems like some stores are using very small signs and putting them up in the corners of the windows of they are becoming mixed in with other flyers and notices on the door glass and can be missed if you don't actually dedicate time to strickly looking for them...........JMHO

I would never shoot the messenger. I just would not do business with them if their business was posted. It just seems that you and others are willing to support the posting of businesses that are against the 2nd Amendment and I am not. Just a difference of opinions is all!
-
Well, I'm done with the sign argument. I am sure if your both own businesses you would probably have them posted and I would not be doing business with either one of you...........JMHO

Why, his sign did not prevent the bad guy from coming in but deprieved me of my right to defend myself. That sign can bite the owners in the butt also. I have a cousin that is a criminal defense attorney and he said those signs can play very important rolls in any case where innocent people are injured that other wise could have defended themselves.

I wonder if those same lawyers are telling their business owners that they are also responsibile for your safety while your in that place of business also. If I am in a place of business during a robbery or astranged husband trying to kill wifes boyfriend and I'm hurt in any way because of no fault of my own you can bet I'm gonna sue long deep and indefinately because I was not able to defend myself when I should have been!!!!!!
-
In all honesty I have said this before and I will say it again. I don't think all of these no gun signs are truly the ideas of the business owner. I think probably most of the are from ANTI-2ND Amendment groups that go around to the different businesses and fill the owners head full of ideas and they put the signs up for the business owner. You can bet they don't inform the business owner of the down side to the signs which is lost revenue by the people that would trade in his store that go armed every day and don't shoot anyone. I am only one person and yes I do go armed when I go out and last year I kept a sort of tally of how many times I walked away from a posted location and went to a non posted location to make a purchase. Sometimes sizable some times nickle and dime stuff but it all adds up and as best I can tell last year I walked away from 371 businesses that were posted when I arrived and I spent about $2,135.00 at unposted locations. Now I realize I am only one person that does not get out a lot or spend a great deal of money but what about the folks that do. How much are the bottom lines of posted stores being effected by the signs????? Maybe someone needs to tell them and see if they still feel the signs are worth the lost revenue!!!!

Good point Omega, and they should have to renew them and pay for that also just as we do. Whats fair for the goose is fair for the gander.............JMHO

I agree with you 110% Omega. I have seen small 4 inch signs located on the lower corner of an entrance glass to a business and would have missed it if someone would have blocked it while coming out of the store. I think if the business is going to post their business it should be a sign 20 inch by 20 inch placed at eye level on every door entering the business and should be required to be made in Florescent Green or Florescent orange and totally visable. I also think the state should be required to sell the signs and the businesses should have to buy them from the state. That way there is no mistaking which ones are legal and which ones are not................JMHO

I don't know about any one else but this is a "No Brainer" to me. If you approach a place of business and they have any kind of gun ban sign up what so ever, just turn around and walk away. Go to another location that does not hvae Gun Banned signs up and do business. How hard is that to understand??????..................JMHO

Well neither of these doctors treat at the local hospital so I can't call a bus to pick me up. I live 45 miles from Hospital they work in. Sumer does not offer cardiac surgery, only cardiac rehab so that is where I was sent. Won't say the rehab I got was top notched but then I out performed anything they put at me. Had this been my first Rodeo it might have been ok but this is my 10th Rodeo and the first one I got sent to rehab for so I was ahead of the rehab program even before I left the hospital. I guess that is why after the evaluation from Home Health Agency that came by yesterday and she decided I was far enough advanced that I didn't need home health services.

Some doctors sure don't make it easy to do follow up appointments!!!! I have a followup appointment tomorrow morning at 9:45 AM. Thing is he has 4 different offices in Nashville and appointment card does not have which office he will be at for appointment. Guess I will have to call and find out where he is at before Tommy picks me up to take me. This is my urologist visit. Day after tomorrow I go back to Heart surgeon and not even going to try abd pronounce his name but will type it. Sreekumar Subramanian. Before the surgery I asked a few doctors who would be doing my surgery and all of them said "SUPERMAN" Well that kind of bothered me and I thought it was just a joke. Well, turns out none of the other doctors can pronounce his name either so they nicknamed him "SUPERMAN" but they also said he was to top surgeon in the Cardiovascular Surgeon Group and I was in the best hands possible so that gave me some peace of mind anyway. When we met he asked me if I had any questions or concerns. I said yes and he was a very receptive person and listened very attentatively to everything I explained to him about the Mylex Mesh in my body. He promised me he would do some research into my concerns prior to the operation and he did and even came back to my room and explained his concerns pertaining to the mesh. He had sent me down for a CT scan of my entire abdomen and gave it all a lot of consideration while we talked. He promised me he would not disturb any of the mesh during the surgery and he didn't. He said putting the drains in for the heart surgery was somewhat of a challenge while continuing to avoid the mesh but he got it done. So I was operated on by SUPERMAN with complete success................

I like my idea best!!!!! If I approach a store or business of any type and they have any kind of signage of any type against firearms not allowed I turn around and go find a store with the same products I was wanting to buy and do business with them. I don't want any person of company to have 1 dime of my money that does not feel the same as I do about my freedoms according to the Constitution and state and local laws................JMHO

My doctor allows guns in her office also and she and her staff are all armed. Her office is a house that has been coverted to a doctors office and her staff is all female and anyone not knowing her and her staff might think it would be an easy drug hit would be in for a very rude awakening. We talk guns every time I go for an appointment. She was packing a Kimber last visit which was a new purchase as she was packing Glock but didn't like how bulky it was.

Well the doctor at the hospital had me down for Home Health Care visits for OT and PT so lady came by today to do an evaluation of what I will need. She looked at me and took all may vital signs and ask me how I felt and if I had any pain which I am not at present and after spending 30 minutes with me answering questions she said , Mr Richards, You don't need any home health care. You are far beyond where most folks are this short after surgery and you are doing well so she said I won't be getting any more visits from Home Health Care so that is one more hurdle I have made it over.

Well a few folks have ask about complications in surgery. Yea there was one big hiccup in it for the doctor. I had him do a complete CT scan of my entire abdomen cause I was tired of trying to explain it. He took my request and di have a complete abdomen. After getting the results back he came to see me and told me that he now understood what I was telling him about the Mylex Mesh inner abdomenal wall and he said he would make sure that he remained away from the Mesh and he did. The drains he had to install was unique but it was what he had to do to avoid the Mesh. This is my 10th major body opening since 1978. I have had my gut opened up 10 times since that truck hit me is 70. I was always able to spring back from them a lot faster than the doctors expected me to. I did so this time also. Was up and walking day after surgery and 2nd day after I was already in OT and PT and getting great scores from the techs. I had difficulties with Catheters leaking and soaking my bed and nurses or techs were in there changing them out about every two hours. Doctors didn't seem to be concerned until on of the showed up and I told hm I was tired of laying in piss and something needed to be done. over next 3 days they replace it twice and twice more there was leaks. I never had that problem on any of the surgeries in the past. The doctors kept blaming it on blood clots which made no sense to an old mechanic. The blood clot was on the bladder end of the cathe yet it was allowing pee to flow past it and when it got to the joint where the pee was suppose to go in the bag is where the leak was. So how was the clot causing the leak when it was not at that connection? I tried to exlain to them that there was an evident issue with an air lock at that connection and I was totally ignored. I finally just made them come and clean my bed every time I peed and finally they removed the cathe and it was better.

Yep, you can bet they do. I suspect many of those are the ones that are bullied all the time by the bullies. Thing is bullying is nothing knew. It has been around longer than computers. Back in a small town of Kingston Springs there was a few bullies around and there was 2 kids that was there favorite targets every time they caught them out. Well both of the kids decided enough was enough and decided it was time to fight back. The first on took place and a Hot Stop market in the rest room when one of the bullies saw one of their targets go into the rest room. About a minute later the target kid came out of the rest room covered in blood but not his. The Bully had grabbed him in the rest room and the kid shoved a knife into the bully and walked about half way around him ,let him fall to the floor screaming and walked out. The bully lived but was not so much a bully any longer. Then another bully was riding around town and spotted another target kid and he and two of his buddies chased the kid and jumped out of the care and grabbed him and shots rang out and within about 10 seconds the targe kid was running away and 2 kids lay bleeding on the street. Ended up with one have a full recovery and the other Bully paralyzed from the waist down as the bullet destroyed his spinal cord. Neither one of the targets were ever prosecuted of either incident as both times after hearing what had been taking place both cases were considered Self Defense. In all to many cases it is the Target victum that ends up lashing out and when they do they are not as selective as the two were in the story above. The kid is just angry at thr world and finally lashes out. I would guess that happens more than most would like to admit...................JMHO

I had 3 different nurses come into my room while I am sound asleep and wake me up to ask me if I need anything. I bit my tongue and didn't tell them what I really needed because I promised my daughter I would be good to the nurses and not be my normal self while in the hospital but I did have 3 do that.

Hurt man yes, damaged man yes, but there is just sometimes things need to be said and it does not hurt to much to peck on a keyboard half as much and it does to hear about kids killing kids.......JMHO

You could surely be on to something with te Ritalin theory Leroy, My grandson was diagnosed as having ADHD back when he was about 6 years old and they have him on that junk and he was out of control and about to drive my daughter crazy with his fits and tantrums. She was going through DHS to get him treatments because the meds were unaffordable for her to buy. At age 7 I had had enough of watching my daughter go through hell and DHS just throwing Ritalin the problem but not fixing it. Grandfather decided it was time for him to get involved and I paid a visit to DHS and we had a very long deep discussion about what other services maybe offer but because Ritlalin was not working. I was not leaving there until they found him something that would help him. They came back with an offer to send him to a special school for Children with his problem and because he was just accepted into the Tenn Care Program he did qualify to be sent to the school. We sent him and he was gone about 6 months and we could not visit him for the first month. By the time we did get to visit him you could see a complete improvement in him and he was in good spirits. He remained at the school 2 years and when he came home he was a new child with a new look on life. He finished his schooling in pblic school and then state paid for his trade school to learn computers. Today he is 27 years old and working as a trouble shooter to help folks with computer issues that call into that company for help. He has been with the company for 5 years now. He makes good money, has his own apartment and drives a nice late model car and has not lost his temper at all. There is help out there for these kids but they need family members to take the bull by the horns and speak out asking for alternatives to what they are doing at that time. Problem is most parents that have a problem child don't seem to have time for them..........JMHO

This is how I was able to give up cigarettes. I know most of you knew I lost my Kasey in October and I set out to find a new best friend as I have had a dog in my life since age 6. Well I checked out every Dog Rescue Center in my area I thought but there was one very little know to many folks Called "Friends of Hannah" that some one mentioned to me. It was close to my home so I went out to see what they had. I have no idea how this place is not better known as they have about 6 acres of Kennels with about 2 acres under roof and all the dogs can go out and in through Doggy Doors. Well anyway they took me through the kennels and they have probably 150 dogs all barking and excited so I ask one of the young ladies operating the kennel if there was some place where Icould see the dogs one on one and she took me to a room and her and two other girls began bring me dogs 1 at a time and they had brought about 8 ot 10 of what they thought I might be looking for and I visited with each of them but there was no connections between them and I. As I was about to give up one of the girls ask the other about bringing Darby out. She was living in a shell since her owners had given her up for adoption and was not outgoing like the rest but was very timid and shy and would make a good impression on most folks and they ahd about given up on adopting her but they gave it one more try and they brought her into the room for a visit. I could tell when I got to look into her eyes that she was the one but I didn't know if she was accepting my vibs like I was hers. It took about three snacks of Beef Jerky to get her to begin warming up to me and the girls were all watching behind some glass. As Darby began to warm up to me her ears stood up for the first time and he tail was wagging since the first time since she had been there. One of the girls behind the glass began crying and soon 2 of them. I had got out of the chair and down on the floor to her level. It was about 20 minutes before Darby climbed up in my lap and licked my face as I petted her. By then all 3 girls were crying and laughing at the same time. One of them came in the room and I asked them if they had a leash and collar for her and she said yes and I said well you better fetch it cause she is going home with me. And all the girls got so exited. As they were going to get the papers done and her hardware one of the girls told me that the on site vet had told the girls that week earlier that if she did not adopt in a week she would be put down. I was not aware of the fact that Friends of Hannahs is like the last resort dog rescue location and dogs are sent there from other rescue centers after 90 days at their facilities with no prospects of adoption. She had been through 3 facilities prior to the one I go her from. I got her on Wednesday and she was scheduled to be put town on Friday. Once she was in the back seat of my Jeep a totally new Darby showed up and she was happy and excited to be going for a ride. Once home I didn't have to Darby I first met but a new and exciting Darby. Now to the smoking part! I sit at my computer every morning like I am right now and she laid on her bed as she is right now. About 3 days after she came home with me every time I would open up a box to get a smoke out I would feel her head on my leg and I would look into her eyes and pet her and then turn to continue to get ready to light up and when I put the smoke in my mouth her front paws were now on my leg and she was staring me right in the eyes. As I reached for my lighter she would put her paw on my arm. So I thought I would try something and took the smoke out of my mouth and put it back in the pack and told her I would not smoke it and she got down and went back on her bed. The same thing happened all morning every time I would try to light up anytime all day I would try and light up she was up in my face putting me on a guilt trip. About the last 2 weeks prior to my heart attack When I got her I was a pack a day guy and within about 5 days before my heart attack in had lost interest in smoking and I think I might have smoked 2 in those last few days and was outside standing up but she was beside me looking up at me. So now I am back home and don't even want a smoke and my few friends that do smoke do't smoke while they are visiting or they step outside. They is my no smoking partner.

Thank all of you folks very much and there is no place like home. It was great sleeping in my own bed again for sure. Had to get up a few more times than normal due to still having issues in that area and I'm sure it will take time to get over that issue. It seems to be one of that last things I deal with every time I am in the hospital and they put a catherer in me. It seems to take more mobility and moving around to clear it up which in the hospital the only real moving around I did was 3 hours a day of therapy and the rest of the day was laying watching TV or sleeping. I'm not going to be running no marathons for a while cause I noticed I still don't have much energy just moving around this morning with walking around making a little breakfast and coffee for Darby and me took a little out of me.

First of let me Thank each and every one of you for your prayers and best wishes. I got to come home this evening instead of tomorrow. I told the doctor I did "NOT" want to be in the hospital on my birthday so he cut me some slack and got me home 1 day early. Still weak and experiencing some aches and pains but I think the worst of it is behind me. I will tell ya'll about my quitting smoking and about the complications doctors had to deal with tomorrow after I get a good nights sleep and hope I get to rest some. Bersaguy
