Because my mind is always working but these days not as sharp and it once did but I am wondering if it was a test of someone to see how fast the police response would be if it was an actual active shooter situation Someone that might have future plans and testing the waters so to say?????? I've heard of stranger things happening before.

My weather radio kept going off every 5 minutes talkin about Tornadoes and heavy rains in counties to the west of Sumner but only mentioned Sumner twice all night. I'm not sure it even rained here last night. I think everything went north before it got here...............

Still, interesting story about the sorta active shooter that was not really one but a Glock was found in the parking lot and it was not shooting anyone. All Veterans don't have PTSD. I don't have it and I know probably a 100 more that don't have it. Problem now is we are all to old for the job.I just turned 70 and had a triple By-pass but I can promise you a year ago I would still have been running towards the gun fire in a school to engage the shooter. I have heard so many people say it sounded like Fire crackers and not gun shots. Fine, if you a student run away from the fire crackers and it your and officer run towards the fire crackers but run in the direction you should be running in..............JMHO

I would be willing to bet my last dollar if that would have been a retired VET we would have found out because a Veteran runs to gun fire and not away from it!!!!! I have said it a dozen times and I will say it one more. We have 1000's of Veterans looking for work a great job for them would be protecting our children and grandchildren while in school. There are many of them with college degrees that could be employed as school counselors, coaches, assistant coaches, Custodians(Janitors) Grounds Keepers, they are all trained in firearms and would only take a few short classes to refresh them on what their jobs are but job 1 is the protection of the children. They were in our military so they already know how to follow orders..............JMHO

Yea, they admitted that many people spoke out but remember, we are talking about the Government Alphabet Forces at work here. Back very shortly after 911 President Bush formed the Department of Homeland Security. It was designed for a lot of reasosns but the main one was to get all of the Alphabet Groups to begin talking and sharing any and all information they had on case both of them were working on and compare notes. That was back shorty after 9/11/2001 and 18 years later they still are not working together cause several of the had paper work on this guy and no one was talking or very possibly 17 young people and numerous others would be alive today.............JMHO

If you will look around you will see many of the items you have listed above no longer exist in our country. The last 2 generations have lost them and I'm not sure if they can't find them again or if they are even looking for them! It would appear they are not really looking very hard to find them because they are still here. I homestly don't think they want the country we had back 2 or 3 generations ago. I don't think tey have time to help somone that has fallen or someone that just needs a little help to get back on their feet. I have watched and if you look at the crowds at sporting events mos of th people in the crowds are standing but looking into their Cell Phones and not at the Flag. Some will say I had it on my cell phone. Why??? It's right in front of you going on live???????? Two friends will be sitting at a bus stop waiting on a bus and instead of talking to each other face to face they will be texting each other!!!!!!! What is wrong with that picture???? Are they brain washed to a point they can no longer speak??? I sent about 30 minutes some time back sitting on a bench in a pretty busy Park and during that 30 minutes 81 people walked past me and 74 of them had their faces in their cell phones and some eople actually bumped into each other , to busy to stop and look where they were going. If I would be willing to guess, I would say SOCIAL MEDIA in one of our major issues in todays society....................JMHO

I have a Dr. Appt in down town Nashville at 10:30 and I am hoping because its's a holiday traffic will be lighter than normal. Once can only hope!!!!

I know this is a little off the topic but it does involved a mass murder. The Colorado Theater shooter was found guilty of 12 dead and something like 57 injured and his sentence is. On August 24, Holmes was sentenced to 12 consecutive life sentences, plus 3,318 years in prison, without the possibility of parole. A sentence like this is nothing more than allowing him to live a life knowing he go away with his crime and Taxpayers will keep him healthy and happy for as long as he lives. The Sentence is a Life Sentence so why is it not carried out in 30 days or less and give him a short life??????

That is how the program use to work. There was restrictions on what could be bought on them. I have no clue when it changed.............

Back several years ago I brought up that exact point about putting veterans in all the schools to protect our children and everyone thought it was a bad idea. Said you couldn't trust them not to go over the edge. I said Bull crap but no one seemed to like my idea back than. One thing is for sure. A vet knows the sound of gun fire and he won't run from it but he will run towards it. I still like the idea whether other folks do or not...............JMHO

I have read most all the posts in this thread and many of them touch on the fact of security at what ever facility is being effected whether it be a school or the Pulse Nightclub or even the theater in Colorado. In each case they were gun free zones except for the Pluse Nightclub which bascially was when the shooting began because the security office was the first person killed. The theater in Colorado was the only gun free movie theater in that Colorado town that was chosen. Until the State Local and Federal Govenments do away with the Killing fields ( Gun Free Zones) these issues will continue. I have heard many people say that our children are our most valuable asset in our future. How about proving that! How about putting actual real security in each and every school to protect our most valuable assets????? 1 police car parked in front of a school is not security. 1 resource officer is not school security! 1 Security Officer in a nightclub is not security. They are the 1st target!!!!! .................JMHO

Squeeze your gun hand till it hurts and then your tight enough. After a while it becomes second nature how hard you need to squeeze your grip. Time at the range will only help that. Been there and done that..............

Well, I am not weight challenged but I am truck challenged and there are just some days that old Ford truck shows up more often than others and thing is I never know when it decides to show up. I use to never mind parking and walking and would not now but with ths most recent precedure being done and I'm a tad short winded right now anyway I think I think I will used the Valet parking. One look at my old Jeep and they won't bother looking for anything to steal........LOL

I took my test with my first Bersa Thunder but only after I have run about 1000 rounds down range with it and adjusted it to shoot the way I wanted it to shoot. I felt totally confortable when I stepped into the range. I did kind of feel sorry for Chad and that old man but I'm guessing the old man could shoot pretty good by the tme Chad got done with him........

I never understood why anyone would buy a firearm and never shoot it and sell it and then regret sellng it...........

He got 1 shot in the 2 years he hunted them and he was up a tree hanging by his legs and 1 arm and shot the ho at about 8 feet away and he had got all the hog hunting he wanted right then and there..................

My Little brother use to go up to a place called Catoosa hog hunting back years ago and he was using a Black Hawk 44 mag to hunt with. He killed one his second year but shot it from up a tree after the Hog Treed him and that was his last time going.
