  1. Most all my family members have been cremated as I will be to save space in the Family Cemetery. We even have stack burials for cremeted members. My mother is buried on top of my father with a smaller double stone marker and there are a few others planning the same thing. I will be buried on top of Margie my wife when I go and the marble stone is already there and dtae will just be added.
  2. Yea I know. I was stationed in Alaska for a while and the skeeters up there ae big enough that one can land of each of your shoulders and then discuss whether to eat you there or take you with them. Back when I was just a boy up in Illinois age 6 it would snow in October and that snow would still be on the ground in March and all it did was add snow to it all Winter and skeeters was terrible up there too.......
  3. Thats going to be a tough decision to make. As for me I am eligable to be buried there but I will be buried in a Family Cemetery here in Tennessee with the rest of my family. Makes it easier on the family to be able to visit graves when they are pretty much close together.......JMHO
  4. Not yet anyway but I don't think we have had enough Winter to kill them off............JMHO
  5. The second gentleman said what needed being said and he was speaking for every law abiding gun owner across this country. He said it without a written speech or a rehearsed speech but from the heart and he was point on about the criminals not turning in their guns and the police not being able to go and collect the gang member guns. I liked what the first guy said about more than half the members on that counsel that preach against the 2nd Amendment but yet many of them have carry permits and go armed and when it was brought up at a previouse meeting about making it public record of all gun owners and who carries and all of a sudden when the counsel members learn that thir names will be on that list they voted against it. I love it when a civilian or civilian group can trap a bunch of elected officials when they try to pass somethng and exempt them from it and they get caught and have to do a bunch of back stepping to cover their exposed BUTTS!!!!.......JMHO
  6. Sorry your feeling under the weather and hope your back well soon. Mine expires 5 days after your does and normally the Gallatin DMV station is not to crowded Tues-Thurs. I will keep my papers in the console of the jeep and if I drive by there and they are not crowded I will just pop in and get mine done.
  7. Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to weather. I get up in the morning, Look at thermomitor on the front porch and dress acordingly. If it's cloudy I might take an umbrella. Only Mother Nature knows what she has planned for us petty little humans.......
  8. It's hard to sell anything you don't have faith in so I know kind of what you mean. No cars made today are like the good ole days of good old American Muscle!!!! back then you bump a guys bumper in front of you cause you know him and he is a friend. Today you do that and it could end up costing you several thousand dollars because you damaged the back up warning sensors or the read camera. My insurance lady told me that it was those things driving my premiums up every year. I told her I don't have any of that junk on my 1997 Jeep and she said I know, it's for the bumper you might hit on another car belonging to somome one else. A guy has one of these fancy camera sensor drive your self pieces of junk and his warranty is out on the car and his camera quits working. Late that night the guy takes his car to an area with a few unattended dumpsters and he backs his car really hard into a dumpster and the next day he is at his insurance company telling his agent it got hit last night in the Walmart Parking lot in hit&Run. My rates go up to fix this clowns camera bumper.............
  9. Believe it or not Illinois use to be a pretty good place to live back in the 40 and 50's when I was growing up and going to school up there. Now Politics have destroyed it and I still have one stupid brother living in the state unless he is dead. Have not spoke to him since November 2006. I wonder how many people will be moving to another town and possibly another state???
  10. I got my notice in the mail today but did not get any options. I have to go to DMV, pay $50.00 and get a new picture made in order to get mine. Glad I have a DMV location about 4 miles from the house. It is where I went to get my original one. Mine expires 6/23/2018. They said the new one will be good for 8 years. They said I can renew anytime between now and the expire date and the receipt they give me will act as my permit till I get the new one. Will probably do it in May and get it over with.............
  11. I looked at that stack of papers that was beside Trump when he got ready to sign the new budget bill and there is no way in HELL anyone has read that entire thing and knows everything in it. Things like that is what puts doubt in me that any of them can really be trusted to work for us, "The Amercan People" If anyone had a question about the bill and it required an answer that had to be found in the Bill they better hope they have some speed readers around!!!!! I would bet 2/3rd of that bill is Pork / Pig Fat!!!
  12. Great read for sure. Makes total sense to me but then I am a Pro Gun person and own guns. In all of what the anti gun folks think, do they honestly believe that gun owners will just walk up and turn in their guns and ammo without a fight? I wonder how many have actually given thought to the fact that it may turn into a war and they honestly believe that the police can or will protect them from 1 million armed citizens even if only half actually decide to fight which I do believe it would be a higher number. In all honesty I have figured that there are many people out there preaching anti gun talk and probably half of them own guns. As for most of the higher up elected officials that are pushng the anti gun agenda I am guessing all have armed body guards with guns anytime they are out in public. They will preach anti gun policies and then hide behind armed body guards. Something just is not fair about that..............JMHO
  13. My safe is in an ajoining bedroom but I can lay my hands on any one of 3 hot lead slingers on the way to the safe. I sleep well also until a piss ant farts and Darby lets me know she heard it by barking and raising HELL like someone is kicking the door in. I lay and listen to what part of the house she is barking from. If it's anyplace other than her bed I will get up and check the house. If it's her bed I go back to sleep.
  14. My SIL's company has the same problem you have. They are hiring everyday but their issue is not getting applicants. They could hire 10 people a day if they could find 10 that could pass a drug test. They send 25 men/boys for drug tests and they might get 1 that can pass that they can hire. I was talking with Tommy (SIL) the other day and he said in 2017 they sent 377 people in for drug test and were able to hire 11 of them but then lost 7 of those in random drug tests. They can employ anyone that is on prescription medications that have a script from a doctor. That employee is insurable and they will keep them. They start out paying $16.00 an hour for basic labor and as they get more experienced their pay scale goes up.
  15. Ok, so this is just a proposal Bill and not a done deal so it could change many times or not change at all and be voted on if the Senate also votes on it as it is written and then it still has to be signed by or vetoed the President. Y'all have to forgive me but I am ignorant to a lot of the legal bull crap and need it explained to me in lament terms.
  16. Well my Marlin 60 is safe anyway for now at least until some idiot uses one to do something crazy with. As best I can tell about everything that bill has in it defies the Infringement part of 2nd Amendment unless they are planning on doing away with it all together.
  17. Not your fault buddy some folks have all the luck and that time it was yours. I went up to my Krogers prepared to buy about 10 of them so look at the money I saved............LMAO
  18. I was just there 20 minutes ago and thr butcher said they never had any at that price. Must have been a select few stores that had them and not all stores. May have been just a Knoxville area thing and not all stores.
  19. Well being one of the dull knives in the drawer I read the entire article and it is still not clear to me if any of my firearms will become illegal once this thing is passed so I might be breaking the law and not even know it. I did understand that my Marlin 60 is legal for me to own and My Bersa Thunder which holds 7+1 is legal I think but it is a semi auto but my main question comes in with my model 85 Bersa which will hold 14+1. Will it be illegal for me to own??? Will it be grandfathered in and legal for me to own? any help with this question would be appreciated.
  20. If they are not sold out they won't give me any issues and already have Tonys up in my spice cabinet so got that covered!!!!
  21. Well, I only have 1 issue with talking to anti gun people and that is I don't know any. Every person I associate with or that I just know occassionally own guns. I can't truly name one person I know that does not own at least 3 to 5 guns or more and either have an HCP or working on getting one. A buddy of mine took me with him to do some yard work for his pastor one time that lived in the country and the man had a range set up in hs back yard and was packing everytime he was in church preaching or for any other reason. This was not a small town church but probably had 200 to 300 in attendence every week. He also has told his church members that if they want to carry then carry while in church. I even needed to buy something at a store that was posted so I went in the store. I saw 3 different employees and 2 or them were printing quite well and I finally asked one of them why they were packing in a posted store. I was told by the store manager the the signs were Corporates idea and not his but he was going to be able to defend himself in the case of bad guys showing up and so where his employees. When I think I might get to talk with an anti gun person they end up better armed than I am many times.....................
  22. Congrads on the new job Mikie. Hate you have to get another one but you do have a great personality and can communicate well with folks so you should do well...............
  23. I gotta go to Krogers today for a few things anyway so will add whole chickens to the list. Then might come home and test drive one of these Cajun dishes................
  24. Yea, I use to refuse to spend money in any posted store. Now I stay out of correctly posted stores. I use to walk to my mail box unarmed. Several years back I began packing when going to the mail box since we have a very small pack that seems to show up every summer when people are out side doing things. yard work, grilling etc etc and these guys roll up in a van and jump out and rob unsuspecting folks right in their yards. I try to go tot the mail box at same time every day so I have a routine they can key in on. Yea I;m baiting them. They use knives to rob folks so when they come for me they will be bringing a knife to a gun fight................
  25. Yea, she was still fighting them in 2005 but that was the last I heard anything about her. I sure wish she would have had her gun that day in Luby's and was able to save her mother and father. She is the kind of speaker the NRA needs talking for them. That is exactly why many times now days I see the signs, if they don't have the entire charter posted along with the sign I many times ignore them and go do what I want as long as it does not requiring a purchase of more than $5.00. When I'm concealed, I am CONCEALED and it would take a metal detector or X-ray machine to know I'm packing.......JMHO
