I cured my piss ant problem with white lithium grease. put some all the way around the area where to hook hanger is and have no more piss ants. But got about 6 or 8 birds at present. Going to change out the sugar water today. That in the feeders is a couple weeks old.

New NRA president - Lt Col Oliver North
bersaguy replied to Wingshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have little doubt if the anti-gunners and the left push a few of Ollies buttons he will react and the reaction wil not be in favor of the lefty's. He was a Marine in our military and like they like to say, "Once a Marine always a Marine !" -

North will be just another name in a list of Names for the NRA. I think he will do the job ok. I promise you he will not be another Charlton Heston and if they could find someone like that again I would be much more supportive. If they would have really wanted to piss the left off they should have ask Ted Nugent to take the position. -

Wife use to cook it every time I brought a bunch home. Have not had any since she passed away. I have a big patch that usually grows behind one of the storage buildings here. When it shows up I call a buddy and he comes and gets it. Have not seen any yet but should be about time for it. -
Buying a water pistol will piss of a liberal. Just the word gun pisses off a liberal!! I have a Marlin Model 60 Semi-auto 22lr and I love it, they are tube fed instead of magazine fed and it is very accurate and best of all won't put a strain on the wallet for the gun or the ammo.......JMHO

Hand Loading 38 Spl Snake Shot Load Recipe?
bersaguy replied to Sidewinder's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
According to a report I just read in is illegal to kill any snake in Tennessee unless it is threatening you in your house or livestock. Next time someone has a Copperhead or Rattlesnake setting up house keeping under your porch call the nearest TWRA station and request that the snake be removed since you are not allowed to kill it. If they will not allow you to kill it then it is their responsibility to come and remove it since they are a protected species native to Tennessee. See what kind of response you receive. It must be a new law cause back when I was growing up in the 1960's a few buddies and I would put our jon boats in the Harpeth River in Cheatham county and float the river with 22 rifles and float the river shooting ever snake we saw hanging in trees over hanging the river or laid up on drift piles sunning them selves. I think we would probably killed 50 on a cloudy day and upwards of a 100 on bright sunny days. We did that for about 3 years and by the third year the snake population was down so much that we quit going. Got to where on that stretch of river might see 10 snakes on a Jon boat float. -
You really don't hear about home invasions up there when it comes to shootings. My buddy told me it's when you are not at home your chances of getting shot go up 500%

I printed copies of blank wills both Estate and Living and filled them out the way I wanted them. Took two witesses with me to notary had the witnesses sign it in front of Notary, He stamped them both and it cost 20 bucks for notary. Now that being said I don't have anything worth family fighting over it. Final expenses are already paid and everything I really want any one person to have in the family I have already given to them. I have a excutor and a back up just in case one can't do it the other can handle it. Both friends I would trust with my life and in this case my death. I checked it out with a friend that is an attorney and he said it is all legal in Tennessee.

UPS. Anyone Having Issues Shipping Firearms with UPS?
bersaguy replied to Old Mitch's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We have to major UPS hubs in Nashville. 1 on Massman Drive off Elm Hill Pike and the other one is on Whites Creek Pike. I had a MAC 10 with two stick magazines that a dude in Minnesota wanted far more than I did. It was an Open Bolt 380 Caliber. We did all the proper things, Had a print out from his receiving FFL up there. Had all the correct labels, everything by the book. I spend about an hour packing this for shipment making sure everything would arrive that was agreed upon. I take it to my local UPS Store here in Gallatin and they tell me they don't ship firearms and I need to go to the hub on Whites Creek Pike, so ok it's ok to Whites Creek Pike and after standing in line almost 1/2 hour I make it to the desk and hand the guy the FFL paperwork and he says we don't ship firearms from this hub. You need to go to Massman Drive. An hour later fighting traffic I arrive. No line walk right up to the counter and had the guy the FFL paper work. The guy says we have to open the package and confirm the contents. I just about blew a gasket at that point. He cuts the box open, removes the contents, puts it all back in the shipping package . not the way I had it but had it all in anyway, threw about 8-10 wraps of tape around it and does the shipping process. I told him I want $10,000.00 worth of Insurance rather than the 5 grand I was going to get. After the transaction was done and the package was sent down the shoot to the conveyor belts I ask the guy. So you got a look at the gun. Did you like the pellet gun and the guy said yea it was pretty cool. The guy didn't have a clue what kind of gun he just shipped. I said I will never ship another firearm long or short through them. I shipped about 10+ long guns of BT's to one of the members here and sent the through the United States Post office with zero issues. All of them went priority. Checked with FedEX but Post office had them beat by a bunch in price. -
Good luck with the Chicago Gun Laws. They change by the hour from what a buddy of mine tells me that lives up there.

You mentioned that when she was younger she enjoyed shooting guns. Now she is a college graduate and wants nothing to do with guns. You might want spend some sometime talking with her and reminding her of how much she enjoyed shooting when she was younger and see if she will open up as to what has turned her against guns. Once you learn why she has gone from liking something to not liking something and wanting to move to Chicago might be an indication her political issues may have changed also. You might get some insight on how to approach the issue now..............JMHO

When we moved to Tennessee and onto my Grandfathers Farm/ranch except for the livestock pastures for cattle and horses the rest of the property was in a program called Land Bank and the Government actually was paying the bigger farmers and ranchers to not grow crops. We had several great coveys of quail but the only person hunting them was one of my uncles when he would come and visit and bring his bird dog. When I was growing up in Illinois I would shoot quail when we would jump a covey of the but was not hunting them but hunting Pheasants and both seasons were open. I do honestly believe the new styles of farming has done the most harm to the Quail populations.

My Grandfather told me about a neighbor of his back years ago that was walking to his barn and his hired had had to him he killed a rattler near the path to the barn from the house. The neighbor asked him if he cut his head off and indeed he did. Neighbor for got about the snake the next day and was headed to get some eggs in his house slippers and he stepped on that snakes head and it damn near killed him before they could get him to the hospital. Any time a dangerous snake was killed on our farm the head was buried!! -
They are prepared alot like baking a chicken hen or you can season them up with your favorite spices and marinade them over night and wrap them in foil and put them on a grill and let them slowly cook which is how my mother cook them Mother got them ready and Father did the grilling. Now don't ask me what seasonings they used cause I left the cooking to them. I did the hunting and the eating. There are a lot of recipes on google or other search engines but then I was eating them before the internet was even in the distant future so I'm sure my parents had their own secrets.

On 'Loop-holes' and Personal Responsibility
bersaguy replied to Six &Twenty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
With what seems these days all the Crazies shooting up people like ducks at a shooting gallery unless there is a signed bill of sale, and proof of identification with photo ID such as Drivers license, HCP, proving who they are, anyone outside of TGO members with more than 100 posts will not be buying a firearm from me. I will be CMA.............JMHO -
Tennessee would do much better if people from up North that plan on moving south to Tennessee leave everything they have that is blue including their voting and politics in the state they are moving from. Problem is many of them bring the Blues with them!!!! All I can say is if any Yankees are moving here to escape the dictatorship state they are now living in leave all of that behind when you move.

I was a member of the Dixie Mud Hoggs 4X4 club and I had dropped a few bucks in the drive trane and added Detroit Lockers to differentials giving her great traction in the mud. Also had 6 inch lift kit and 15X35 Monster Mudders on her. Never got her stuck but got requests from other guys in the club to come pull them out of a mud hole they were stuck in. Had a lot of fun back then. Some great memories right there. Sold the Dodge in 1989 to a guy and got almost what I paid for truck and all the extras. CB stuff did not go with her when she went to new home.

A buddy of mine told me what he does and it seems to be working. He said to get some white bearing grease and put a smal amount on my finger and put it around the hook hanger area and they won't cross it and it will last all summer.

Back in the day when CB's were a hot item I had one in my Dodge Ramcharger It was a Cobra 30 Channel with a power mic, 75 watt tube type leanear under the seat and 106 inches of steel whip antenna mounted to rear bumper. If I wanted to say something and channel 19 was full of traffic I would turn on the box under the seat and when I keyed the power mic and said something everyone heard what I hae to say for about 100 miles in ever direction. Woulld make folks mad from time to time but when you say Breaker Breaker 19 and get ignored that box got plenty of attention. I could be in Kingston Springs and get a smokie report from 25 miles out of Memphis on I-40. I use to talk skip at night to folks in about 27 or 28 different states as far away as Colorado. Had a lot of fun with them back then. A friend of mine that is still driving a big rig is still using my Cobra right now. It is about 40 years old and still working. Bought Ramcharger in 1977 and Cobra in 1978.

It would be hard to put it around the base of a hanging bird feeder.

A friend of mine runs a CB in his pickup and he also has a Black Bed Cover. He got a flat square piece of sheet steel, painted it black to match the cover and Gorilla Glued it to the bed cover and he uses a magnetic base CB antenna and can remove it and put it behind the seat of his truck when he is not using it. Says he can talk about 25 to 50 miles on it and more if he sticks it on the roof rather than the bed.
