  1. You mentioned that when she was younger she enjoyed shooting guns. Now she is a college graduate and wants nothing to do with guns. You might want spend some sometime talking with her and reminding her of how much she enjoyed shooting when she was younger and see if she will open up as to what has turned her against guns. Once you learn why she has gone from liking something to not liking something and wanting to move to Chicago might be an indication her political issues may have changed also. You might get some insight on how to approach the issue now..............JMHO
  2. When we moved to Tennessee and onto my Grandfathers Farm/ranch except for the livestock pastures for cattle and horses the rest of the property was in a program called Land Bank and the Government actually was paying the bigger farmers and ranchers to not grow crops. We had several great coveys of quail but the only person hunting them was one of my uncles when he would come and visit and bring his bird dog. When I was growing up in Illinois I would shoot quail when we would jump a covey of the but was not hunting them but hunting Pheasants and both seasons were open. I do honestly believe the new styles of farming has done the most harm to the Quail populations.
  3. My Grandfather told me about a neighbor of his back years ago that was walking to his barn and his hired had had to him he killed a rattler near the path to the barn from the house. The neighbor asked him if he cut his head off and indeed he did. Neighbor for got about the snake the next day and was headed to get some eggs in his house slippers and he stepped on that snakes head and it damn near killed him before they could get him to the hospital. Any time a dangerous snake was killed on our farm the head was buried!!
  4. They are prepared alot like baking a chicken hen or you can season them up with your favorite spices and marinade them over night and wrap them in foil and put them on a grill and let them slowly cook which is how my mother cook them Mother got them ready and Father did the grilling. Now don't ask me what seasonings they used cause I left the cooking to them. I did the hunting and the eating. There are a lot of recipes on google or other search engines but then I was eating them before the internet was even in the distant future so I'm sure my parents had their own secrets.
  5. With what seems these days all the Crazies shooting up people like ducks at a shooting gallery unless there is a signed bill of sale, and proof of identification with photo ID such as Drivers license, HCP, proving who they are, anyone outside of TGO members with more than 100 posts will not be buying a firearm from me. I will be CMA.............JMHO
  6. Tennessee would do much better if people from up North that plan on moving south to Tennessee leave everything they have that is blue including their voting and politics in the state they are moving from. Problem is many of them bring the Blues with them!!!! All I can say is if any Yankees are moving here to escape the dictatorship state they are now living in leave all of that behind when you move.
  7. I was a member of the Dixie Mud Hoggs 4X4 club and I had dropped a few bucks in the drive trane and added Detroit Lockers to differentials giving her great traction in the mud. Also had 6 inch lift kit and 15X35 Monster Mudders on her. Never got her stuck but got requests from other guys in the club to come pull them out of a mud hole they were stuck in. Had a lot of fun back then. Some great memories right there. Sold the Dodge in 1989 to a guy and got almost what I paid for truck and all the extras. CB stuff did not go with her when she went to new home.
  8. A buddy of mine told me what he does and it seems to be working. He said to get some white bearing grease and put a smal amount on my finger and put it around the hook hanger area and they won't cross it and it will last all summer.
  9. Back in the day when CB's were a hot item I had one in my Dodge Ramcharger It was a Cobra 30 Channel with a power mic, 75 watt tube type leanear under the seat and 106 inches of steel whip antenna mounted to rear bumper. If I wanted to say something and channel 19 was full of traffic I would turn on the box under the seat and when I keyed the power mic and said something everyone heard what I hae to say for about 100 miles in ever direction. Woulld make folks mad from time to time but when you say Breaker Breaker 19 and get ignored that box got plenty of attention. I could be in Kingston Springs and get a smokie report from 25 miles out of Memphis on I-40. I use to talk skip at night to folks in about 27 or 28 different states as far away as Colorado. Had a lot of fun with them back then. A friend of mine that is still driving a big rig is still using my Cobra right now. It is about 40 years old and still working. Bought Ramcharger in 1977 and Cobra in 1978.
  10. It would be hard to put it around the base of a hanging bird feeder.
  11. A friend of mine runs a CB in his pickup and he also has a Black Bed Cover. He got a flat square piece of sheet steel, painted it black to match the cover and Gorilla Glued it to the bed cover and he uses a magnetic base CB antenna and can remove it and put it behind the seat of his truck when he is not using it. Says he can talk about 25 to 50 miles on it and more if he sticks it on the roof rather than the bed.
  12. This is the closest place I could find to your location. Has a 5 star rating but I don't know anything about them. Chuck's CB Shop 4.8 (43) · Electronics Store 98.1 mi · Holladay, TN (731) 847-9296 Open ⋅ Closes 5PM
  13. If I'm not mistaken didn't he shoot one or two people out side before coming in. That would have gave me all I needed to shoot him when he cleared the doorway before he ever began shooting inside.................JMHO.
  14. Except for the Las Vegas shooting listed in his article he failed to mention that each one of these places are "Killing Field GUN FREE ZONES" How many of these same shootings would have ended much differently had a person with a Glock or 1911 stood up and shot the shooter before he could begin shooting. If they adress the GUN FREE ZONE issue and remove it these mass shootings will be far less because a good guy with a gun would be able to stop the bad guy with a gun..........JMHO So Gary didn’t stand much chance. First-graders and teachers in Newtown, Conn., didn’t either. Nor did dancers at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, nor concert-goers in Las Vegas, nor teenagers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Fla., nor the people at the Waffle House outside Nashville. Like so many American mass-shooting victims in recent decades, their doom was all but assured by the murderer’s tool.
  15. Ok, who has the best formula for keeping piss ants off Hummingbird feeders. I go through this every year and I am sure by now someone has got a plan for keeping the little critters off them. Please share if you have any ideas!!!!!!!
  16. They will get bought by a Drug Cartel leader or some Arab oil Tycoon with a gold plated Mecedes and 5 palaces strowed all over Saudi Arabia. They love buying things no one else can afford and showing them off !!!!
  17. Back years ago my brother up in Illinois owned a big auto body shop with a huge office and he had two 55 gallon tanks and a pet store about 2 miles away kept his tanks stocked with different kinds of fish. My brothers tanks were like holding tanks till he sold what was in his store and he would come and get more from my brothers tanks. We were up there visiting and he showed us some fish he had got in a week earlier. He had 3 5 gallon thanks under the big one and the food for the ones in the 1 big tank was stored. He dipped a small net of the food fish up and dumped them in the big tank and it was an instant feeding frenzy. He told us they were Snake Heads. I told him I was not sure but I thought it was illegal to import them into the country and he said that was Bobby's problem. Bobby owned the pet store. I said it will be your fault if your caught with them in your tank so he called Bobby and told him to come and get them. About a month later my brother told me Bobby got caught with them and got arrested and his business was now closed. I agree with HP. Pirannaha can be fun to watch at feeding time but they are tame compared to Snake Heads at feeding time.............JMHO
  18. That is a beautiful tank set up for sure. I use to be into aquariums big time. Back when my wife was alive we had 6 tanks. A 50 gallon in living room, 10 gal in all 3 bedrooms a Beta tank in the bathroom and a 35 gallon in the bonus(den) Love to watch the fish and listen to the pumps run at night when going to sleep. After wife passed away I kept the for a short time except for the Beta tank and the 35 I sold all the rest fish and all complete. Sold them so cheap I almost gave them away but was to much for me to keep up with. 1 couple bought the 50 and another couple bought all three 10's. I converted the 35 into a critter tank and had Creek Crawfish and 2 silver dollar size turtles in it. Loved watching the Crawfish and learned a lot about them by watching them. I did add 3 more Beta tanks to my TV entertainment top in living room for a total of 4 and I would go to Walmart and buy the uglyest ones they had that no one else would buy cause I felt sorry for them. Did that about 15 years. Still got the tanks but not had fish for a while. Sold the 35 about 2 years ago
  19. Me neither to what Greg said...............lol
  20. Well my Sprint Samsung7 phone and my AT&T phone both work out there and my Go Phone AT&T Internet works out there. As fo Xfinity/Comcast, nearest cable from them is over 12 miles away and I just cut my cable cause I was tired of paying $100.00+ a month to watch reruns of Iron Man and SuperMan of Steel 25 times a month and then next month it was Thor or Lord of the Ring 30+ times a month. Now as for Satelite, Direct TV had two installers walk 5 acres of land around my SIL's house annd finally said a Satelite will not receive any type of reception even if they put it in the middle of his roof with zero trees in the way but a High Definition antenna will receive 43 channels.
  21. Well, I don't know if the stars lined up of what butwent out to Gordonsville to Visit SIL and daughter and do a little testing. My Samsung 7 Sprint phone worked 100% sitting in their living room. He got his Dell Laptop out he uses for work and plugged in my AT&T Go Phone unit into the USB port, it down loaded itself like normal did a complete down load and put up 4 bars and we did google searches and he check his work sheets and did everything including sign me into East Tennessee Fishing Forum and it was actually faster than my desk top and his Dell laptop is about 8 years old so I will be good to go with internet service with AT&T Go Phone Broad Band and he is getting ready to buy a super duper High Definition out door TV antenna like a neighbor did down the road from him and the guy gets about 40 channels a lot of the good programs that we enjoy watching on it so thats the route we are going there and no monthly bills for TV service. He is going to begin remodeling the inside of the house next week and we looked today and there is room at the end of the kitchen sink counter for a built in dishwasher so I am buying one of them from Lowes through a Contractor friend of mine and get it at Contractor cost and my friend that installed the one I put in here is going to install it for me. Had I known what the future held for me here I would have never put one in here. So I guess the stars just lined up!
  22. I have a Sprint 7 phone with internet on it that my grandson gave me two weeks ago when he upgraded to the Sprint 10 and I will have it out there with me today when I go visit them. I'm in the beginning stages of learning how to use the damn thing. It is toucherier than my last wife. Everytime I pick it up it doe something I don't want it to do. I',m almost afraid to touch the thing. I think my fingers are to big for it!!!! I don't do all that streamin and junk. I just want to be able to get emails and visit TGO and East Tennessee Fishing forums and do Google search.
  23. Backing up about 8 years I have been a Cricket Cell phone customer for about 21 years and about 6 to 8 years ago AT&T purchased Cricket. Prior to that my Cricket phone did not get service any where in my SIL's area. When AT&T bought Cricket I was told I needed to come in an purchase a new phone so I being a modest person picked an LG flip phone and because i had been with Cricket for so long they gave me the phone for free. Well about a month later I was visiting daughter and SIL and my phone rang and it was a friend of mine wanting to know when I would be home so he could get some baits and I told him and ended the conversation. I now had Cricket Service in my daughters living room and didn't even know it. There is only one place my phone does not work is at my sons home in Craggie Hope Tennessee. He lives in a holler down there that only gets about 2.5 hours of sunlight a day and very few phones work down there. He has Verizon and if he moves around in his house while talking to someone he will cut them off. He has to stand in certain laces in his house to get service. I am taking my Go Phone with me today to visit SIL and daughter and we are going to test it on his lap to he uses for work when he is away from the house.
  24. Doesn't anyone use a desk top any more besides me?????????? I more than qualify if they base it on income which this is their beginning income requirement. Persons in Family 1 Max Allowed Income $24,280 I hate to say it but that is $10,000.00 more than I get a year. Thing is I don't need a computer, I just need computer service and where srint ask what type of device I would be using and supplied a list I scanned the entire list and there was not 1 desk top offered but according to their map they do have 3G service on that address.
