Thanks for the tip and I will see where the nearest Piggly Wiggly is to me and check into that steak idea........
-
I use to grill every Sunday year around regardless of the weather but now it's only me and Darby and her system will not tolerate smoked meats so not I grill once in a while when I can find a steak I can afford which is seldom. I do eat Lemon Pepper Chicken cooked on the grill about 5 times a month. I have a buddy that has one of those smokers he towed behind his pickup and he use to do special events but he parked it about 4 years ago and now when folks want anything smoked they bring the meat and seasonings to him and he will smoke it for them on Fridays so they will have it on the weekends. Folks will normally give him a good tip cause he does not charge but he also keeps enough meat back for him and I and he brings me some when he has extra.

Did anyone honestly believe Trump would go to Moscow and Visit Putin and not be polite enough to offer an invite to Putin to come to Washington DC, you are not paying attention. It's not the first time a Russian Leader has been to the White House. Reagan had Gorbachev here in 1990 and soon after the Iron Curtain fell and Berlin Wall was torn down and the Cold War ended.

I use to shoot every week but that was because BT was going to the range so I had someone to go with. Since he has passed away and the range we use to use closed down I just can't get motivated to go any more. I keep telling myself I need to go just to stay crisp. I did put a range briefcase together a few days ago so I might go burn some powder at a buddy house one day next week. He has a range in his back yard and I think he said he will be home all next week and he said he also needs to shoot some. It's a little road trip but will be nice seeing him again anyway.

I'm gonna be watching the news for next week or so and hope to see this guy get taken down before he hurts someone like his wife for her big mouth or people where she works!!!

Sierra Bullets Sold to Clarus Corporation
bersaguy replied to Grand Torino's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Ok so like I have said many times not being the brightest light in the room why would a company making 30 million a year sell for a mere 79 million? -
Yea I know they have expaned their line a lot and offer many different styles. I looking for an everyday wear type shoe that will hold it's comfort for a reasonable lenght of time. I did by a pair back a couple years ago which I am still wearing and I bought them of all places, Walmart and they are a Faded Glory brand shoe and it has just been in last month that they have began to become uncomfortable and I went back to get another pair of them because in style they resembled Sketchers. Well they don't carry that particular style any longer so I have desided to step up and go for a better shoe since I can't replace these again.
-
I plan on trying them on before I buy them. It's just I have try shoes on in the store and they fit well and felt like they would be comfortable and a month later they feel like S--t and are not comfortable and don't feel as good as they did. I am looking for folks that have bought a pair of them and wore them for kind of longer period of time and they still felt good with a little wear on them.
-
Ahhh! Nope have never been on one in my life. Does it matter??
-
I'm looking for some really comfortable all around slip on pair of shoes and I am wondering how many folks here are wearing Sketchers and wanting to see if they are all they claim to be before I drop $70.00+ on a pair of shoes. Are there any folks here that can give an opinion on them????

Believe me Grayfox. I went through very much the same issues back when I was filing for my disability. I fought them for 5 years and kept getting denied on every appeal. I will tell you just a little on how desperate it was for them to say no that they decided to send me to 2 of their own doctors since they refused to believe mine. I went to 2 of their doctors at Vanderbilt Hospital and they gave me a complete examination and when they filed their reports both said I should be approved and they should begin my disability imediately and they denied me even when their own doctors said I should be approved. I finally turned to my representative back then which was a man named Bart Gordon. I actually got to meet with him and he said he would look into it. The Social Security office contacted me and offered me a deal. They said if I would accept 1 year of back pay and drop 4 they would begin my check the month coming. I was tired of fighting them and my savings was about depleted and I thought some was better than another denial so I took the deal. They did do me 1 favor and I don't know if they realized it or not but they put me on SSI for the first 6 months which got me Tenn-Care insurance cause I didn't have any any for 1st 6 months my check came through SSI and not Social Security but I got my first check that month. Took a beating on my back pay but at least I got 1 year and my check started and had an income.

One thing was for sure. The officer had no intentions of letting them get away short of his own injury. I don't know what the protocol is in Vegas but that was one very determind officer to bring the bad guys to justice period. They said the bad guys fired 34 times and I think the officers fired 31 rounds and they said only 1 civilian car was hit with some rounds.

Celebration may be a little premature but still good news. My son Ronnie went over to the sheriffs office today to talk with the sheriff about the guns. The serial numbers match what I reported back in 1988 so thats the good news. Not so good news is the drug raid was a DEA raid which means the Feds have the guns and not the Sheriffs office. The Sheriff was the one that reported that the guns were reported stolen back in 1988 by a Cheatham County resident and requested that they be place in his care but because it was a Federal case the Feds have the guns and it could be upwards of a year before we get them back which will be after the trial. I have no clue how long this can be dragged out but I am still optimistic they will be home soon. At least we know they have them.

This is a little long and a little old but still remains of many country folks. Back in about 1970 a guy came down from New Jersey. His last name was Harris. He purchased 150 acres of prime timber and hunting land and he posted all of it with no trespassing signs and no hunting signs and he had a smaller camper type living quarters placed on the land. At the time he had the only posted private land in that whole area and when hunting season came people went hunting and those signs didn't slow them down. The people hunting that land had been hunting that land for generations. Well there was a local man and his two sons where hunting one moring after a snowfall and Mr. Harris had come in before the snow and was staying in that little camper. He heard gun shots so he goes out to investigate what it was and the father and 2 sons had 3 deer down and we dragging them back to the old pick up truck. Mr Harris saw them off in the distance and hollered for them to stop. The father told his two sone to keep dragging and he began to drop back slowly. Mr Harris was moving towards them and he hollered again for them to stop and just about that time a gunshot went off and a small tree limb fell right next to Mr Harris. He turned around and began going back the way he came and the man went back and joined up with his 2 sons and they loaded their deer in the truck and left. The truck was to far away for Mr Harris to tell what brand it was and all he had was a Royal blue color to report to the police. Police ran all over the roads for 20 square miles looking for a truck matching the description given and they didn't find anything. About noon the pedestrian door of the mans garage opened up and the local game warden walked in while the man and his 2 sons where still processing the deer. A conversation took place between the warden and the man. The game warden left and nothing ever came of that incident. The game warden spoke to the sheriff and the sheriff called off the search for the truck. The Sheriff, the game warden and Mr Harris went into a room to discuss the days events. It was explained to Mr Harris that the land he purchased had been hunted by the local folks in that area for several generations and that deer hunting mean't many families would have meat for the year that otherwise would not. Mr Harris was still not phased and said the man shot at him and could have killed him. The game warden looked at Mr Harris and said if the man would have wanted you dead you would be dead. He just wanted to you to leave them alone. Mr Harris said then you know who it is and they said yes and no, we are not going to arrest him. Harris was ferious until the game warden told him he started this fight with those signs and he will contnue to have these issues in the future because unless he wants to hire private security to protect his land he will have people hunting it. I was gone when all of this had happened but was sitting around one day after I got home and was talking to one of the mans sons that was with him that day that I had went to school with. His father had died of a heart attack a few years later. I never did find out what ever happened to Mr. Harris other than there is a road that leads off the main road named after him. I don't condone the actions of the man and his sons for their actions but it all started because an outsider that had grown up in a complete different lifestyle and beliefs had came into an area without taking the time to learn the lifestyles of who would one day be his neighbors and began to try and change the lifestyles of his new neighbors...............JMHO

I think they figure they have a chance of out running you and if you catch them your not going to bite them several times like a K-9 will plus they know they can't out run them................

We have always thought it was someone that knew us and knew what was going on in or lives at that point they knew we were staying at the hospital as my son was declared terminal from the night of the accident so we were not leaving him. My brother was going by the house to get things we needed and bringing them to the hospital. He told me about the break in and that the gun cases were empty cause I didn't have a gun safe back then. I told my brother where to find the list of all the guns and serial numbers and he went and filed the report for me. That sheriff at the time was a friend of mine so he sent a team over to my house and they finger printed the gun cases but they must have been wearing gloves cause there was no prints except imediate family in the house. My home owners insurance did not cover the guns. They told me I would have to add a seperate policy for them and I never got around to doing it.

Honesty after 30 years I had given up ever hearing any word about the guns but I guess miracles do come true if you wait long enough!!! I'm betting the guys that were caught with them are not and were not the burglars that stole them. My guess is they were traded for drugs. Either way I will be getting at least the 4 back. Have no idea what shape they will be in but does not matter right now. Just knowing that 12 gauge is in the 4 is enough for me right now..

I just got off the phone with Ronnie (my son) down in Kingston Springs in Cheatham County. He just got off the phone with the Sheriff down there. The Sheriff told Ronnie that they have recovered 4 of the guns that were stolen from our home back in 1988 when they burglarized our home while we were at the hospital with my oldest son that was in a coma from and auto accident. They recovered all long guns. The most important one was recovered which is my dead sons Winchester model 1200 12 gauge. They also recovered my younger sons 20 gauge Winchester 1200 , my Mossberg 4.10 Pump and a Marlin 30/30. They said the investgation is on going and they hope to learn where more of them are. There is only 4 more long guns out there and all the rest are hand guns. The only gun out of all was my dead sons Winchester Pump that I really wanted back. I had bought it and my other sons 20 gauge for Christmas 3 years prior to my sons accident. I bought all 3 of those shotguns at Speciality Arms in LaVergne a couple years after they opened up for business and they were running a special on Winchesters. I wanted a pump 4.10 for a couple years so bought the Mossberg and because I was buying the other two guns they gave me a package deal on 3 guns. I remember having to take the 4.10 back because it would shoot around corners. When I told the guy it would shoot around corners he laughed but took the gun in the back to their range and test fired it 3 times. He came back out with a new Mossberg in a box and handed me 5 boxes of 4.10 ammo. He said you are correct sir. It does shoot around corners. He said the barrel was evidently bent from the factory. Very nice folks to do business back then. They have grown a lot since I bought the shotguns. I really wanted it back most of all. They said they will be returned after the case is closed but at least I now know it will be coming home eventually where it belongs. All they could tell Ronnie right now is they were discovered in a home in Cumberland Furnace during a drug bust raid on a house there and the occupants were arrested for dealing drugs out of the house. My son ask if he could give him the names of the drug dealers but he said he could not because it is an ongoing investigation. Ronnie was trying to see if it was someone he knew. Will keep ya'll updated as I learn more.

Are you really gonna give that much credit to thugs that they would think there are guns in the house?? They blow past the gun buster signs in stores and rob them all the time. Do you think a gun buster house would slow them down????? Your realy giving them way to much credit for being smart............... I have a sign in my front window with a picture of a shotgun that says: Private Property! I have posted it to you in english! Do I need to say it in 12 gauge!!! I don't really have a shotgun. I have 2 of them.
