  1. Sam Walton got that same treatment back when he was alive. My father and Sam were close friends right up till he passed away and he would tell my father about how people judge other people by their appearences. Sam always wore work clothes. Dickie brand Shirt and pants and a ball cap and when he went to one of his stores to pick up something he would walk up to the cashier and pay for what he was getting just like any other customer. There was a few times he would go speak with the manager of the store to do one of 2 things. Get someone a raise or get someone fired. 99% of the employees had no clue what Sam Walton looked like. He always based his decisions on how he was treated by who ever he was deaing with based of his appearence. Old pick up truck and work clothes would have told me the guy had a job and was there to buy something..............JMHO
  2. I do hope with your situation you are able to find what will work for you Rotorhead. A vertical drop Shoulder Holster should eliminate shooting himself in the chest. I have kicked around getting a shoulder holster a year or more and I would want a vertical drop rather than a horizontal insert because if you are standing in any check out line in a store Horizontal holster always has the muzzle of your firearm pointing at the person behind you. I could not be comfortable knowing that..........JMHO.
  3. I got great buy on some Fiocchi 380 ammo back several years ago and bought 1000 rounds shipped to my door for $180.00 and still have about 600 rounds of it. It became my range ammo not to long after I got is because I was experiencing FTF (Fail to Fire) issues with it. I thought it might have been the Bersa so next time I took a different Bersa to the range and had the same issue and also had the problem in my S&W Body Guard. On average out of 5 magazines shot I would have from 1 up to 6 and even 7 one time that FTF. I knew than I could not depend on it for carry ammo so it became range ammo and I began buying Hornady Critical defense ammo as I could afford it for EDC I hope that issue is not in the 223 Ammo. I bought it because a friend of mine told me it was a good deal and the price was but the 380 ammo not so much.
  4. A friend of mine bought an HP 45 back a couple years ago and stopped by to show it off. He handed it to me and I almost dropped it. Was not expecting it to weigh so much. He said he had been to the range with it and it was very accurate for an inexpensive 45 caliber and told me I needed to look into getting one but I said I will pass. But I also considered that the gun fit him perfectly. He is 35 years old 6ft 4 in, 285 lbs and has hands the size of a SilverBack Gorilla. And arms coming off his shoulder look like Country Hams. He is and has been a pipe fitter/welder/Gofer in the coal mines since he 16 and his father trained him in the mines. He got his HCP and that 45 is his EDC.
  5. Better fired than possibly dead this time or the next one and I would not work for a company such as this and not be allowed to protect myself. That in itself tells me the company does not care about there employees..............JMHO
  6. I don't believe driving around the guy or backing up would have changed much of the outcome. The truck driver cut them off the first time so best not to give him another chance to do it again or worse. Standing his ground was the best move to make for the Uber driver..............JMHO
  7. Yep!!! I don't really think there is any hope left for them anyway. They will be under Muslim Control when it's all said and done anyway............JMHO.
  8. From the looks of it the Balloon may be the beginning of what may be the casting off you mentioned. Maybe the people are finally going to grow a spine!!
  9. My Wife that passed away was an LPN for 15 years and she did mostly Home Health care, taking care of home bound patients. My daughter was an LPN but went on and finished her education and is now and RN. She said that in the past couple years before getting her RN license LPN's were becoming nothing more tha glorified Nurses aids doing the jobs such as bedpans and bed sheet changing. That is why she went on and got her RN. She works in ER at Vanderbilt Hospital now.
  10. I'm not exactly sure how that Balloon is going to help the crime rate in London or any where in Great Britain for that matter. If they want to slow down their crime rate let them begin doing back ground checks on folks and the ones that past the background check should be able to take a class on Fire arms and then be allowed to purchase one after completing all the requirements. Then look at the crime rate 1 year later and see where it is.............JMHO
  11. The only road blocks I give any money to is when the small town fire departments have the Toys for Tots fund raisers and I do give to that when I come up on one of them.
  12. My mistake. It was a Ford and may have been a F-250. I just went and looked at the video again.
  13. I have never thought even back years ago when my boys were in school that the schools got a lot of the money that got collected so probably the same or worse today.........IMO
  14. Definately sounds like he does take his job very serious and I wonder if his deputies carry more ammo than they use to...... Didn't sound like they had enough last time. IMHO I don't think it would hurt to have a few more like him around.
  15. Magazines, Do people still read them things? I get one every month for being an NRA member and I give it to my grandson as he is the newest gun lover in the family. He reads everything in them. He is looking for a good Varmint gun w/ optics that he can afford. At 13 years old he does every odd job he can find to put money back for one.
  16. Well evidently the people of Polk County like him if he has been sheriff 12+ years and they keep voting him in. I read the story of the shooting and one line that was reported and I had to go back and look again. Boek got out of a "LARGE" pickup truck and threatened to shoot the driver. It looked like a plain 1500 series 1/2 ton pickup to me but I could be wrong!
  17. I guess in order to prevent this trend from continuing they are going to have to use a permanent marker that reads "Exit Only" and stamp them when a baby girl is born and make sure it remains till at least age 18 at least.......JMHO
  18. It sounds like they have shootings and guns found in schools all included in their stats. I hear many times of guns being found in Back Packs but not actually discharged. It is mentioned many times on News Channel 5 at 5 about a gun found in a students back pack, even in grammer schools. If they are putting those together with actual school shootings they might get closer to that figure........JMHO
  19. First off I want to say I'm sorry about the Chigger attack!!!! Sounds like you will be on Bendryl tabs for a while and the Bendryl Pump bottle spray will help alot also. Good luck with that! You are suppose to frog gig from a jon boat, canoe, Kayak etc etc. Gigging from the bank will never be productive. A buddy and I used to go about twice a month on a Saturday night on one of his small lakes on his farm from a jon boat and I was gigging and he was bagging. I would gig the frog and put the gig over my shoulder and he would pull the frog and put it in a burlap bag. We would get 35 to 40 every trip. We did have one night my buddy Derby went swimming. It was purely accidental but I gigged a frog but along with the frog I gigged a Cottonmouth and both of them went to the back of the boat and Derby dove out of the boat to get way from the snake. It was funny when it happened but I was required to check the gig end before going over the shoulder from then on. We still laugh about that when we get together which is seldom these days but we had some fun times.
  20. Very true Chuck. This is not an issue subject that can done without a lot of forethought and input from Medical Professionals. It cannot just be a political issue but a medical issue also..........JMHO
  21. Yea, when they begin to allow the background checks to begin dipping beyond where the courts allow them to go it will be a whole different story and then they will not want that part of back ground checks allowed. They can't have it both ways they either get all the background in mental health or none.....JMHO
  22. Most of my friends ride Harleys but I have a couple buddies that ride Crotch Rockets and they all 4 of them use Howards Honda in Donelson. I have also not heard anything bad about Sloans. Hope you get it fixed without and arm and leg.
  23. I guess that makes sense but I kind of thought mental Illiness is mental Illiness whether a judge says it or a doctor says it. If thats the case and a doctor declares you a raving lunatic and says you need to be in a mental hospital you can still legally buy a gun but if a judge says it then you can't. That just does not sound like they are doing a very good job with the mental issues of gun ownership huh?............JMHO
  24. Do you Frog Gig from the bank?
  25. Well I went from 2 birds to about 20 birds and had to put up feeders I had taken down and only had 2 up. Now I have 6 back up and birds fighting like crazy. I thouht they might just be passing through but have had them about 8 or 9 days now so should have these till the migration.............
