People in Florida are Idiots -REVISED- People are Idiots
bersaguy replied to Snaveba's topic in General Chat
I read the other day that people from New York and California are leaving those 2 states in droves seeking cheaper places to live and that Tennessee is one of the top 5 states they are coming to. The Headline of the post was People in Blue States Moving to Red States in droves!! One guy that was interviewed said he could no longer afford to pay $3,000.00 a month rent for his 1 bedroom flat in New York City. He went to Florida !!!! -
To bad he lived in Colorado and not Washington DC!!....JMHO

You may have a good point Cat but I'm 73 years old so I don't expect to be around to tap my phone in 15 years.....

There are just some things that people need to do and drive is one of them and I mean 100% drive. You don't need vehicles that drive for you. I spoke with my insurance agent last month because my rate actually came down by $54.00 and she said because you have a vehicle that does not have any self driving abilities. She said people that buy these new cars with all the bells and whistles pay dearly for them in insurance.

Ok, so they have figured out how to offset the gas tax issue. so what are they doing with the money cause Tennessee roads are in terrible shape????

Hummingbirds will eat flying insects about as much as they eat Nectar as they need the protein that they can't get from the nectar. It's rare to see them when they are eating bugs unless there is a swarm of flies or Mosquitos and it's easy for them to feed.

I got up a little earlier than normal because Rosie was barking at something and could not go back to sleep so I made my way to the coffee pot. I looked out the window while pouring my coffee and quit in the middle of it to look at all the Hummingbirds I had fighting over my feeders. I would guess there was between 12 to 15 birds fighting and a couple where actually feeding. I finished filling my cup and then just sipped coffee and watched birds till there was only a couple and poured a second cup and went in to get dressed for the day. I sure hope they stay for the summer. I went out yesterday and sat for about an hour and had 4 birds show up a couple times.

John Wick was about as discrete as a flashing billboard announcing John Wick is in town!!!!

At my age if they tell me I have to buy one I will just quit driving all together since I have not drove the Jeep in 5 months. I will pay insurance on it and tag it one more time and pass it down to my son after that.

We pay a gas tax when we buy gas. I wonder if they have a tax on the electric people pay that own an EV?

That could be a matter of opinion. GOD is still in my heart and my house. Also I don't actually hate anyone. There are people who I don't care to associate with but I don't hate them. They just have different beliefs than mine....JMHO

Ford vs Chevy vs GMC (not an argument thread!)
bersaguy replied to Handsome Rob's topic in General Chat
I think all of us do things we regret later. I do regret selling my GMC too. Even though I am not pulling a boat any longer that the 4.3 throttle body injected motor got 28 mpg dragging the boat with the a/c on and 33 MPG with the a/c on . Best I can get with the Cherokee 4.3 with a/c on is 19. It is 14 mpg dragging the boat with a/c on in the Jeep. -

The company my son-in-law buys him a new company every 4 years and they just pass his old one down to one of the foremen to drive. In 2019 His boss told him to go find a truck for him. He was driving a Ford Diesel and it had 304,000 miles on it when he passed it down and it is still running every day. This Time Tommy picked out a 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4 basic truck. He added a front wench cause he gets stuck on some construction sites and he put a Tommy lift gate on the back cause sometimes he needs to haul a piece of equipment to a new job site. The truck has 354,000 miles on it and except for routine maintenance the only repair was a starter. It has a cracked in the windshield now and Tommy's boss asked him if he was ready to trade and Tommy said that he is going to keep the Chevy and just have it rebuilt from bumper to bumper. The dealership he bought it from new will be doing the rebuild. They gave him an estimate and it was a lot less than a new truck plus he could not find another truck he liked. The dealer will be replacing the Engine and Transmission with new a Target motor and Transmission and they will be rebuilding the complete suspension and putting new brakes all around. The man that runs the repair center gave him the total cost for the rebuild is $17.400.00. It will take 15 days to complete it and Tommy will drive another company truck till his is ready. Except for the paint, Tommy will have a virtual new truck. The dealer is also going to put 4 new Michelin Tires on at no cost. -
I use to have that problem back when I had a garden and lived in a city that outlawed the discharge of a fire arm so I went and bought some 380 fire crackers and would throw them in the direction of the garden and ended my critter problem....

If I needed or wanted a newer truck without going new it would be a GMC. I bought a used 1991 GMC 1500 Serra long bed with 11,000 miles on it and it had a 4.3 liter V-6 with overdrive tranny. I bought the truck in 1998 and for 15 years it had a Bass boat hooked to it 90% of the time and I fished lakes from Lake Fork in Texas to Santee Cooper in South Carolina and every lake in East Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. I had to have 1 Tranny rebuild and my son does that for a living and when he built it he didn't cut any corners and added a shift kit so it would not drag when it shifted. When I got the Jeep Cherokee I have already quit traveling and was fishing local so rather than watching the GMC just sit and waste away I put it up for sale. I cleaned it up and parked it out in front yard with a For Sale sign on it. (A side note, This truck still had the original Timing chain and gears in it) It also had 312,000 miles on it. My mail carrier came by about 30 minutes and saw the truck and came and knocked and she asked me how much I wanted for it and I told her and she gave me a $20 dollar bill if I would hold it till 4PM and I agreed. At 4 sharp her and her husband knocked and he asked if he could drive it and I handed him the keys. When he returned he asked me again the price and I said $2,000.00 firm. He told his wife to go to the bank and get the money. When she returned he handed me the cash and I gave him the paper work and he said he lived in Portland and I told him to use my tags to drive it home. The next day my plate was in my mailbox as his wife put it there. Now that I have told you the history of my GMC I would positively buy another one!!! ( note I would look for a little older model with a 4.3 liter) -
If you end up going to Fontana to fish gear up for some very exciting Smallmouth Bass angling for sure. I have a buddy that can walk out his back door and go about 50 feet and throw rocks off the cliff into Lake Fontana. He has invited me down a dozen times and I could never find time to go and Now I have the time and my health won't allow it. Back when I was in the bait business he was a regular customer and we became good friends. If you decide to go to Fontana let me know and I will call him and find out what baits the big Smallmouths are biting on for you.

As far as going armed during the day. If I go out side for any reason including to just sit on my deck and watch H Birds I am armed. Anytime I am in the house I am no further that a few feet away for a weapon. I even got my Marlin 60 /w optics and went out back and went through a full tube of ammo to make sure the scope was still on. I hit 10 out 10 poker chips at 30 yards. I reloaded it and came back in the house and put it on the Rifle Rack. I know a lot of folks snub their nose at a 22lr but I have total confidence in 22lr's.

Proof that “Thank you for your service” is just lip service.

The only reason I was asking is I have been donating every month for the last 10 years and I would like to know if the funds are going where they are suppose to be going besides some ones pocket. I know they caught a few crooks in the program back years ago and I just want to make sure that is not happening again. If anyone knows a Wounded warrior that is in the program can you find out if they are getting the help they are suppose to be getting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bersaguy -
I live in the country in a house and my Daughter and son in law live in a second house 50 feet away and we both have outside and inside dogs and they will warn us of anyone outside day or night. They hear everything and start raising all heck when they do hear something. I have seen videos showing thieves working car door handles and for the most part they seem to like large apartment develops parking areas....JMHO

I have a question? Do we have any members here that are receiving any help here through the WOUNDED WARRIORS FOUNDATION??? -
Maybe it is because there were not enough people killed and enough outpouring from residents in the city. I think it was because the shooter did not fit the agenda and was a Latino whose parents could not speak English. Also was no mention of a manifesto which he had to have more plans as he had more guns in his car.....JMHO

It sounds like you have gotten some good options to try. There is a product on the market called Sta-Bil and it is a fuel stabilizer and it comes in 3 different grades. 1 for your cars, 1 for your boats and 1 for Diesel. I used it in the Marine Grade for my boat for years and my Jeep to this day. It removes water from the fuel and prevents anymore from forming. That would be my next move if I were you.....JMHO
