Ok so by reading the replies to my post does that mean I should just quit writing to elected officials all together? Does it mean it's a waste of time writing them?

I wrote Senator Marsha Blackburn about me concerns regarding the Red Flag bills being considered and below was her reply. April 1, 2019 Dear Mr. Richards, Thank you for writing regarding proposed restrictions on gun rights. I always appreciate hearing from Tennesseans. The Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms, and this cherished right stems from the rich history of our country's founding. Law-abiding citizens who are gun owners should not be subjected to unconstitutional abridgements of their rights or targeted for persecution. Protection of our Second Amendment rights is dear to me. I am opposed to restrictions on firearms that could unfairly target hunters, homeowners, and law-abiding citizens. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, you be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind should any legislation limiting our Constitutional right to bear arms come before the committee or the full Senate. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. If you would like regular updates on my work for Tennessee, please sign up for my monthly newsletter or follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Sincerely, Marsha Blackburn United States Senator

Ok so maybe it's a permit to carry a fire arm of some kind in Tennessee. Anyway I will be moving to another town in Tennessee and just want to know if I can do a change of address on that and DL on line or do I need to do it in person. I don't need new ones as I just got new ones when I renewed last year and had to go in person for a new picture so I did both of them at same time as Drivers license was do for renewal a month later. So can I do change of address online for both of them? Thank you for any help on this Bersaguy aka Doug

Most folks here know I will be moving to a new residence sometime in June probably, maybe a little earlier. My question is can I just do change of address on line for my CCW and Drivers license or does it have to be done in person. I have never thought I would be moving again in my life but it is what it is and I am moving. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Bersaguy aka Doug

I am guessing before this is all over it should end up in the Supreme Court and I would hope that the court follows the Constitution and again upholds the Second Amendment as they have in the past and strike down all Red Flag laws as unconstitutional. That will put an end to all of this stupidity!.......JMHO

Well, I will say this. I wear my lap belt but don't use the shoulder strap that crosses my abdomen because of all the mesh in my body my doctor has recomended I don't wear it. I would not have to have a wreck or hit anything. A sudden stop could cause damage to the mesh inside my abdomen by the should strap pressure. Now because I don't have the shoulder strap I have been puled over several times for it. I have a letter from my doctor explaining why it is recomended I don't wear it in my console. Every time I get pulled over and the officer asks for my license and proof of insurance they tell me they stopped me for not wearing my seat belt. I ask them if I can open my door and show them that I do in fact have my seat belt on. Then I offer to show them the letter from my doctor. Soon as the officer sees I do have my lap belt clicked they hand me my license and insurance card back and say thank you and have a good day and that is the end of it. No big issues, no questioning if I am trying to be smart or anything else. None of them have even taken the time to read the letter. I would not argue with any officer that chose to write me a ticket. I would have just thanked him/her, went to court with the letter from my doctor and accepted what ever the judge saw fit to do. How many times do you hear about serious accidents involving death that the person or people killed were not wearing their seat belts. The law is written to save lives and the belts are put in cars to save lives and all the officers are doing is their job when they stop someone for not wearing one. I also have a fully operational air bag in my vehicle............JMHO

Well I finally got the word from my landlord and he wants me to move by June so he can renovate this cottage I live in. He said he will be done with the other 2 units and ready to begin working on this one. At least he is giving me a fair amount of time to move. I have never heard of a property Landlord actually moving people out of rented places so he can remodel them. Normally they wait till they are empty and then remodel them. I have lived here 19 years and never been a day late on rent and seldom ask him to fix anything except the central AC/heat unit. I fix small things rather that bother him but evidently none of that matters to him so I will be gone from here by June. Moving out in the country into a small cottage that my SIL and daughter own that is located behind their house about 50 yards. I will probably like it out there but hate the hassle of moving. Oh well at least I will be able to do some shooting out there. They own about 10 acres with a steep hill on one side that I should be able to set up a small range on. If I dissappear from the site for a while I will be back here soon as I get set back up........

2-year-old Johnson County girl struck by stray bullet
bersaguy replied to Garufa's topic in General Chat
Prayers going out for the little girl and her family. -
Ok here is what they found. She had an artery almost totally blocked and the doctors did an angioplasty balloon repair to re open the artery and start the blood flowing back to her heart muscle. They will do a follow up in 2 weeks with another arteriagram and if it shows signs of any changes they will stint that artery at that time. I found out doctors have two options when they do this procedure and as best we can tell the doctors did not stint it this time when they could have performed both the angioplasty and stint at same time. I was dissappointed to hear that, but they are the doctors making the decisions. She is at home now with Tommy staying with her. Weak but out of pain. Prayers are still appreciated

I can't thanks folks enough for the prayers and need them to keep coming as she is not out of the woods yet. More tests tomorrow to see if she needs surgery.

LOL @ Fox ! he did have a police record. It just didn't make a distinction what kind of record it was. He probably could have made a few phone calls to correct it but since he was totally never denied a purchase he did bother..........JMHO a friend of mine would get delayed on every gun purchase he ever tried to make because the initial search showed he had a police record. He was a retired Police Officer!

I think your going to be very happy with your choice. Back years ago I had a dog trainer show me how to read a dogs facial expressions and you can get a pretty good impression of the dogs personality. Your pups facial expression is one that shows content and is attentive and will be a smart dog and train well. He's a beauty for sure and your going to have a great dog in my opinion. Oh yea, going out side to go potty will happen. It will just take a little time. Until then you may try paper training him.

I could have went to a breeder and got a pup but except for Beagles back when I rabbit hunted I have always had mutts and I have a real soft spot in my heart for rescue dogs. Many of them get adopted as puppies and grow un in a family and then as the kids grow and go to school and parents work the dogs usually wind up either at a Rescue center or dumped out on some country road and the poor dog is totally lost. That was the case with Darby, A young couple adopted her as a puppy and had he for 5 years and I can tell that they spent quite a bit of time teaching tricks and playing fetch and many other things I am still learning abut her. but then came a real baby and Darby was no longer the baby and she was jealous and showed it by growling at the baby under her breath but enough for them to hear it and she was put up for adoption at the Sumner County Sheriff Rescue Center. I went there looking for a dog but they didn't have anything that just grabbed me so I came back home and got on line looking for other Rescue centers near by. Found one called Hairy Moose about 10 miles from my house. When I brought Darby home I went and stopped by the Sheriff's Rescue center to show the lady what I was taking home and before I could say anything she called to Darby by name. I found out that she had Darby at her center for 3 months and could not get her adopted out so moved her to the Hairy Moose to see if they could find her a home because they have more traffic of people looking for a dog and Darby had been there and was running out of time before they would put her down when I got her. I asked the lady if she knew the history behind her and she was able to tell me everything right up to the food she was fed growing up. Funny how things happen sometimes.

I lived through one Cold War and I expect to survive another. Lets face facts and the facts are if a Nuclear War starts there will be no winners but a lot of losers. Both countries would be destroyed almost imediately and both sides know that!! Along with many countries that are not even involved in the conflict. Both the United States and Russia have been Sabre rattling since the early 50's which in turn keeps other countries around the world in control. As far as NATO is concerned they are building a stronger alliance of neutral countries that would become involved if it was to become a ground war but if it goes Nuclear NATO is more or less not much of a player. As far as super fast Missiles, you can bet that if Russia has been working on such a weapon the United States has been working on ways to destroy them almost as soon as they are launched. There are no secrets anymore with the technology of today. I will go to bed tonight and sleep as well as I have for most of my life......................JMHO

Revolver/Caliber for Hog Protection while Dove Hunting
bersaguy replied to A516's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I more than agree with this for sure. If the hog gets close enough to do you harm a round of number 8 birdshot directly into the face will take out both eyes disbaling hogs sight giving you plenty of time to get away plus discourage the hog from wanting to get to you plus you will have time to shoot it a couple more times if you would choose to. Bird shot at close range can really do some serious damage..................JMHO -
How many of you have ACTUALLY been hog hunting?
bersaguy replied to Handsome Rob's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I agree with you on this rob. A lot of talk but no real proof. I have never been even though I have been offer to go on hunts I have never went. I do wish that even half the people that talk about hunting them would actually hunt them because in many places they are getting out of control and doing some serious damage to farmers crops and land. I did watch a program on TV last week about a bunch of hogs that showed up all at once in an area that didn't have any 6 months ago and they were actually going into peoples yards and doing damage and keeping the people from being able to go outside. Some local hunters and the Wildlife Service in that area organized a hunt and drove the hogs out of the housing area and into open pastures and between the hunters on the ground and the two shooters from Helicopters from Wildlife Service they erradictaed about 90% of the hogs but said that if they didn't get all of them the way they breed and have litters 2-3 times a year they would repopulate that area in a matter of 1 -2 years. I didn't know they bred that often and had babies that often. It's no wonder they are becoming a major concern in so many areas.
