I agree 100% that parents don't spend the time necessary to actually teach their children and in most case show the children the Love they should and most of all provide them a good home. We did not have all the high tech toys kids have today and when they began to show up my kids did not get them until they could buy their own. Then there was rules in my home when and where they could be used. My boys were taught right from wrong until they left home as adults and from watching my Son Ronnie with his boys he raised them in pretty much the same manor he was raised in.

The children were not unattended. Their mother was in the car with them while their grandmother went in to Walmart to pick up a few things.

Thanks Dave and that seems like it was an eternity ago since that happened and my son Ronnie said he was going to talk to his mother about an Order of Protection and I told him not to because it would only make it worse. She is already getting beat on and refuses to call the police so he never mentioned it again. I have a feeling that is why many Murder / Suicides take place is from that piece of paper. When one of those get served it just make most guys 10 times as mad and it becomes a "If I can't have her mindset to a No one will her mindset!"and that is where many Murder/Suicides happen......JMHO When my wife of 18 years walked out on me I just said "BYE" cause I had a full book dealing with a son in a coma and another one at home and going to school. I was very proud of him cause he had just turned 16 and got up every morning and went to school while I was at the hospital 24/7. One of the other kids in school would pick him up and after school they would come up to the hospital to see me and his brother and I would give him some money for supper all of the kids that came and he and his friends would stop and eat on the way home. When she finally decided to talk divorce she had to come to me and it messed with her mind that I was not mad because she was doing what she was doing after 18 years with me. I had my priorities and he decisions about her life was at the very bottom of the list. She couldn't afford a lawyer and I knew that so I said ok I will file all the papers and all you have to do is sign them and show up for court and she agreed. A lawyer buddy of mine drew up the papers and I just told him to write them how ever he wanted to and he did. My divorce cost me $15.00 filing fee + court costs and lawyer was a Freebee! That was when she learned what she had signed. She was giving up everything to be with her new guy and didn't even realize it till the Judge came down on her and it was to late then. Her guy did have the nerve to call me after the trial and threaten to beat the Hell out of me for not giving her anything and I ask him were he wanted to meet. Never heard from him again about that!! With that said I believe Orders of Protection get people killed and they should not exist!!..............JMHO

This day in time if the police is at your home because someone called them the best thing to do is cooperate with them and see if the issue can be resolved and don't do anything that may cause the officer to feel threatened. If the officer does not see anything that could have been required that the call was made he might try and see why the call was made in the first place. I have found that most times cooperation with the officers is always the best path forward. Cool heads would always be my recomendation...........JMHO

So according to that law a person can carry pistol on their person but not allowed to have it loaded or have the amunition on their person that fits the gun???? Ok so what is the sense in packing an empty gun around?? That is another one of those useless laws that cost the taxpayers to pay some politician to introduce which we all know had to come from the left. I guess if the gun is big enough you could use it for a club in a knife fight!!!!

Thanks for all the replies to my post. I had drawn the same conclusion as a couple of yall did and that was the 2nd officer did what he did to prevent more people from calling in the same report causing yet more officers to respond to the hot car issue. I do totally do understand the response by the officers because there has been so many children die from being left in a hot car. In one way I think any parent that does that should be prosecuted but then on the other hand the person has to be heart broken at what they did and the loss of the child would be a punishment far worse then being arrested. I could not imagine how I would feel if I was to lose a child in that manner and know it was all my fault for not thinking!!! I think the auto industry should begin working on ways that would remind a person that their child is in the back seat. Some type of warning on the dashboard that would alert the driver when they turn off the ignition that the child is in the car. They have been able to come up with all kinds of other things far less important to make your cars so smart, let them come up with one that is important!!!!

I have only been through 1 divorce and I won that one on desertion and adultry by her and she got nothing but her clothes. I got the kids which were teenagers, the house and everything in the house and property and the judge even wanted me to request Child support. Yea, the judge and not my lawyer. When the judge found out she was walking out on my son after his accident and was just beginning to come out of a coma she told me I deserved Child support from her and her new boyfriend. I declined it but I did request that I set the times she would be allowed to visit my sons and she made that happen. My ex got what she deserved. Turned out he was a drug addict, a drunk and worst of all for her a wife beater. She got pregnant by him and had a daughter. Soon after that was when the beatings started and she was terrified of him and to scared to call the police. My youngest son Ronnie and his girlfriend went to visit his mother and was a day after he spent the night beating on her and my son spoke up and told him he was tired of the guy beating on his mother so out of no where he back handed my son and his girlfriend Tammy dragged Ronnie out of the house and they left. Tammy could not wait to tell me he had hit Ronnie in the face. Next time they came to the hospital on their day to visit I was there and took her new husband aside and politely quietly told him if he ever laid his hands on one of my sons again he would not be breathing in 24 hours. My ex didn't know what we talked about but the following weekend he beat her up bad, packed his bags and went back to east St Louis where he was from. Ronnie told his mother to file for divorce and she told him that her guy (Chuck) told her if she filed for a divorce or for Child Support he would come back and kill her and the kid. About a year later we got news that Chuck had beaten a girlfriend to death up in St Louis and got the death penalty and will never be released. She is so scared of this guy that she is still married to him and said she won't divorce him until he is dead. She is still waiting!!! Now with all of that said, Red Flag laws would not have helped my ex because he didn't have any guns cause his favorite weapon was his fists to beat on women with.

I did have her chipped but it is not in her but on her. It is made into her collar along with the reflective strip on her collar. I think it cost about $90.00 when I had them put it on her and the only down side is the batteries don't have a long life so when ever I am going out with her I don't turn it on. You turn it on and off with your cell phone. If she is going out on her own I turn it on. I think it is made by Tractive but will look and see if I can find the paper work to be sure. I have considered having one implanted in her because the batteries are not cheap and if you forget to turn it off it will kill the batteries in 4 to 5 days. They don't have a long battery life to begin with. Living in town I worried about someone stealing her so I paid the price to make sure I could find her if she went missing. Out here there are a lot of people with eyes on her and she is watched a lot more by family when she is out side. If she goes up front to visit one of them brings her back home after she plays with the Bassett Hound (Rhett) yea like Rhett Butler from "Gone with the Wind" up front for a while but they call me and tell me she is up there. I told my daughter she has a sick sense of humor to name that hound after such a great actor..............LOL. You can see the reflective part on her collar here.

Ok so my daughter, and my 27 year old Grand daughter and my 2 great grand children went to Walmart today to pick up a few items at the store. My daughter went in the store while my grand daughter and mother of the two children remained in the car with the doors locked and the A/C blowing cold air when the first police officer showed up and tapped on the window of the car. My grand daughter put the window down and the police officer ask if they were alright and she said yes and she was waiting on her mother to pick up a few things. The officer reached in the car and could feel the cold air working and said ok and went on his way. !0 minutes later another officer was at the car asking the same questions and again my grand daughter told him they were fine and the car was running and the A/C was working and keeping them cool. He then made my grandaughter turn the car off, remove the keys, unstrap the two kids from the car seat and told them it was "AGAINST THE LAW" to remain in the car and they needed to go inside the store!!! Does anyone know when that law went into effect cause I have never heard about it till today. The officer told my daughter that she could be ticketed for leaving the children in the car. My grand daughter is 27 years old and is the mother of the two kids and she was in the car with them and had the A/C running and doors locked!!! My daughter was in the store a grand total of about 20 minutes and had not one but to officers show up because people were calling in about them in the car. The 1st officer didn't mention they were breaking any law and the second one acted pissed.

That is exactly why I had a chip put in Darby and most folks can find her with their cell phones and will get an alert on their phones if she gets in their neighborhood. We tested in when I moved out here and it still works on everyones smart phones out here as well. If you do get the dog back home my suggestion would be get both dogs chipped.

I know the town of Gallatin I just moved from it was against the law to discharge a firearm period so you would not be able to shoot them there.

I have no doubt you are correct Dave. It is a way of getting donations which I never send any but I think it is a good thing to get out there for folks to read about. Get folks thinking and keep them thinking about it. I won't have an issue with Red Flag laws if they are written properly and require a court order to take the persons guns until he/she has their day in court. Then if found to be a fit they should be able to take their guns home that day. Not a waiting period of weeks or months but that day........JMHO

So they are begging folks to call in tips if they spot him and the people with the video call it in and he is in their refrigerator looking for food and the police don't respond to that call but wait 7 hours to respond to another call from a woman on her way home from work that says she spotted him 750 feet from where the original 911 call came from and now they are trying to figure out how the beat the original folks out of all or part of the reward and coming up with another caller they did respond to. I guess the guy that was getting his fridge raided should have just shot him in the leg so he couldn't get 750 feet from their home huh? Something about that stinks in so many ways!!!!.............JMHO

Now you know why I posted what I did earlier about the rewards. These people throw big numbers out there hoping to get a bunch of help from the public but I have not heard of anyone actually recievng what has been promised. That is why I said there is a 95.9 % chance if the people would have walked up and handed him to them gift wrapped they would not see any of the reward. What they are doing now is looking at all the ways possible to not have to pay those folks anything and they deserve every dime of it!!!!

I'm just glad he is no longer on the loose and back in custody. People can breath a sigh of relief now and the new medias can move on to other stuff...JMHO

I also thought if the patron was packing and didn't have his carry permit on his person he was packing illegally also. I always have my permit on me when ever I carry my firearm. My guess would be he didn't have a permit in the first placeand should not have been packing........JMHO

Ok, thanks for explaining it to me. I have always been wondering exactly what the anti-gun people were talkinng about when they wanted Universal Back ground checks when I knew I had a back ground check done on me with every purchase I made at a licensed gun store. I don't think a lot of states are going to want to pick up that program but I could be wrong. Probably the ones with more Democrats with Governors in them might.........JMHO

So ok! from what I have gathered from reading posts here they believe that Universal Background Checks are primarily designed to close the loop hole in the sales of guns from one person to another and not purchased at a licensed Gun store where back ground checks are done? Is that correct? I also did some research and found that 82% of all guns used in mass shootings where purchased legally from licensed gun dealers and back ground checks were run on the person prior to them getting the guns. So that means that Universal Background Checks are going after the other 18% of buyers that buy a gun from an individual without a back ground check. Is that correct or am I missing something?

I have had 55 gallon aquariums in the past and also had a king size waterbed at the same time but they were on seperate ends of the house and not on the second level. Never had issues with the fish tank but in a 2 year period the water bed caused the outside wall of the house to seperate from the floor and had to have AFS come out and put the house back together and add re-enforcement to the flooring where the water bed was. I sure do miss my water bed these days but don't need one that big. Been looking at getting another Super single one for this house as it is an all concrete floor so will not have a problem with weight. As far as putting your big fish tank on second floor I would definately have a structural engineer look at it and let him make the decision on if it will be safe or not.............JMHO

Why was RED Flags not flying when they saw Watson on a golf cart at the home of Johnson when he is suppose to be on work detail??????? Sounds a lot like he might have had help from employees from Prison.......JMHO I totally agree with you 1000% and like I said. I think he had inside help and a very sorry judge and prosecutor that would have taken any form of plea deal but should have put him away till his body art melted in an ink blob.

Well that kind of happened in the case of the Sheriffs Deputy case. The killing happened in 1982 and the trial was in 1983. It was 3 brothers involved and the shooter got life in prison and the other 2 got 25 years. The prosecution wanted the death sentence but didn't get it. As it turned out the shooter didn't serve life but got paroled in 23 years and his brothers earlier than that. The people involved that lost their family member deputy did everything they could to keep him in prison but he got released anyway. That was a terrible injustice to all of the family and the people that testified in the case.

I was thinking along those same lines. He will want to get out of the area as fast as possible and he planned his escape long before he ever got assigned to the honor farm detail outside the walls/fence and was waiting for just the right time. They have his face and body art on every form of news medias in this area for people locally to see. The authorities have not have one comfirmed sighting of him so far. That tells me he is long gone from this area and probably had help from some family that was suppose to be in the area. If I was the FBI I would put lots of Bounty Hunters on him and not the nice ones that will bring him in alive but the kind that will bring him in period. I know a couple of them and I would not want them hunting me cause I know I would be room temperature when I was delivered to the FBI. Maybe even packed in Ice.

Ok, so I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer so I have to ask stupid questions but when ever I went into a gun store to purchase a firearm I went through a background check before I could buy the gun. If we already have background checks what back ground checks are these politicians wanting that is not already being done??? Are they wanting DNA tests to prove you are who you say you are or Blood tests like you get when they do a blood/alcohol and DUI stop????
