Well many good points I guess. I am just tired of them sending our great fighting forces on to foreign soil of nations that have openly admitted they hate us to try and settle their civil issues and our brave hero's coming home wrapped in Flags. I will try and not yell anymore either. My bad....... :surrender:

I know about that small strike force went in after 9/11 in hopes of getting Bin Laden at his last known location but they were to late, but I was speaking about a major force on the ground. Heck Bill Clinton even threw a few missiles at him in a location he was suppose to be at while he was in office but hit and empty training base with them. He did that right after the bombing of the World Trade center. I do stand corrected about boots on the ground though and thanks.

6.8AR, you ask why there was not a unilateral strike immediately? When was the last time you saw an immediate response from our military ordered by either the President or the Congress? Go back through the last several times our military was called into action and see if there were any immediate actions taken. There are only long term reactions. Going all the way back to Desert Storm. There was not an immediate action about the invasion of Kuwait by Saddem Hussein. There was almost a 3 month delay before we and other nations acted. After 9/11 the immediate action, none. The reaction 5 to 6 months in the making to invade Afghanistan to get Bin Laden. Then Iraq (the unnecessary war) even took over 4 to 6 months in preparation for it. Even when Obama finally sent air strikes in Libya it was announced a few months in advance it was coming. I wonder how the Attack on Pearl Harbor would have went for the Japanese had they given us 5 or 6 months notice when and where they planned to attack? I think it would have been a lot different. This day in time with our Navy spread all over the world and the technology we have at our disposal such as our drones that can pinpoint fire on a target with extreme accuracy and our missile control systems we now have that can take out a single building in the center of a block of stores we don't need to warn anyone we are coming until we rain out of the sky. Boots on the ground are for clean up after we have eliminated all of the clear and present danger by air..............JMHO Now as far as striking Syria, I say no, notta, nah and nill. We didn't pick that fight so we don't need to put our noses in it. All the time that red line was drawn in the sand it was NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND. Now we hear about troop ships with Marines on board in the area. I don't trust those folks in Washington even when I am watching them live on TV because what your seeing in plain view is not what is going on behind the scenes. Now I don't know about ya'll but I'm tired of hearing about our great fighting men and women being killed on foreign soil in some Muslim country that the entire population hates our guts in to begin with.............JMHO and if any of the moderators of the site think this is out of line please delete it

Man shot while teaching children to shoot skeet

I know some folks will say they never have enough ammo and that might be true for some folks. I'm just proud to say I'm not one of them. I don't have a bank vault full but I have enough that I could defend myself and have plenty of left overs. Thing is I saw this coming almost immediately after the election in 2008 and I started buying that following day and bought something every time I got near a sporting goods section or a gun show until it became as rare a commodity as gold and by then I was fairly well stocked enough to have a supply for defense plus able to go to the range and practice a little which I have cut back on that a bit recently. Yea what color Q50 Infinity. I think I would rather have an Audi 9000 quadtrac in camo color myself..........

Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
bersaguy replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If one stops to think about 1 thing more we all have an advantage over the intruders and that is only if they don't know you and have never been in your home. It is like everything else. You do have home field advantage. I have a buddy that made what I call a great move a few years back. He had a power kill switch placed in the master bedroom and can kill all power to any lighting in his home and that gives him real home field advantage. He also has night vision equipment. This was done because he lives in the country and wanted total advantage. He is getting ready to add sound devices that will only sound in certain rooms when turned on letting him know and entry of attempted entry has been made. A few of my buddies said he is paranoid. I said there is a difference between being paranoid and just being smart and I think he is just being careful about protecting his family and home.........JMHO -
No refusal dui check points in tn.

I have never objected to anyone being able to travel. I object to them being able to drive with as many as 5 DUI's in 1 year and still driving. As far as travel goes driving is not their only option for travel. There are buses, spouse/mates, friends,Taxi cabs, Planes and trains and even horse back if need be to travel that bad. George Jones even got a DUI for driving a riding lawn mower on the roadway while drunk. I just said a person with numerous DUI's should be put in jail for an extended period of time and give them a lot to think about............JMHO -
Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
bersaguy replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well here is one more response because I just spent two hours reading the posts in this thread. In my case my family is gone and it is just me and my old dog but my thoughts on what my actions would be on a home invasion in my home have not changed. The intruder or intruders once inside my home which this day in time are for the most part out and out home invasions and not vacant home burglaries there would be zero warning except for the first sound of my gun going off several times at the intruder or intruders. Those that will invade a home today will do bodily harm more often then not and in all to many cases kill anyone in the home. Drugs have changed the way home burglaries as they have become complete home invasions. With that said I will give no thought as to being sued, only about being killed. I will call 911 if I am able after the smoke clears and the Perps are not breathing. When you really need the police and seconds count they are only minutes away and I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6..............JMHO -
What kind of dog is best about not wandering from property?
bersaguy replied to a topic in General Chat
I have had dogs all my life. Some pure breeds and some mutts but the better dogs were always the mutts. Actually smarter and easy to train. Getting them fixed is a real plus for sure. Mutts seem to be better natured in most cases also. Right now I have a female that I got as a pup from Humane Society and she was already fixed. I have had her 14 years and she is loyal and very protective but not in a mean way. Just watches my back so to say. Does not bark a lot but will let me know if someone comes around. Her name is kasey and she weighs about 70 lbs. -
I have to wait till they come out on Netflix to see them. I cannot afford the Movie Theaters these days unless I can hit a matinee which is seldom. Will watch for both movies to hit the Netflix program.

I totally agree with you Dave. Thing is if they cannot buy one some stupid family member will buy them one or loan them one and that cannot be prevented unless if the car is borrowed the person that loaned them the car is also prosecuted for allowing them to use it...........JMHO -
I was thrilled last month when I heard on the news that Microsoft and Apple were moving back to the states and closing down almost all of shore plants. I always say someone has to make that first step. They did and I hope others follow soon..........JMHO

I will say this on the issue pertaining to repeated DUI offenders. It upsets me when I hear on the news that so- n- so has been arrested in a DUI accident and four innocent people including a child has been killed. This is so-n-so's 5th DUI in less than a year. Why is this person even on the street with 5 DUI's in one year? In my opinion after his 3rd one he should definitely spend some serious time with Bubba and Bubba should make it clear to him that he doesn't want to see him back in again.............JMHO -
I'm already restricted as to what I can buy because finding American made products restricts me because I can't find that many..................... :stunned: :stunned: :stunned:

In all honesty I think Terry Ashe is becoming bored with his job as he has been holding that position for many years and just thought he needed more attention. I have had a couple occasions to meet the gentleman and even though he is a generally a nice guy that is about all I can say about him............ :2cents: :2cents:

Me for 1...........I would pay 20% more for true Made in American Products.

Ok Let me say this. My son was stopped by an off duty LEO because he was following him and the LEO assumed he was drunk(which he was) Even though the LEO was off duty he was still doing his job. When uniformed officers arrived on the scene they requested not ordered but requested he take a breath test and he refused. He was arrested at the scene and taken to jail. He called me to make his bond and even though I love my son I did not bond him out. He knows my thoughts on that issue since my oldest son was killed by a drunk driver. When all was said and done between court costs and lawyers fees that DUI ended up costing him over 5 grand. The only thing I did to help him was I asked a judge friend of mine to arrange for a daylight only DL so he could drive back and forth to work. That was over 10 years ago and i have yet to see him pick up as much as a beer. I feel had I used my pull with judges and lawyers I knew and made it easy on him he would not have learned any lessons. I know it was tough Love but necessary. If your going to drink and drive then expect if caught your going to spend some big bucks to get through it.......JMHO
