Letter to the American people from Vladimir Putin
bersaguy replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
At this point and considering my choices carefully I almost trust them both equally but leaning towards Putin at this point...........jmho and I never thought I could feel this way about an American President in my lifetime........... :stunned: :stunned: -
Ron Ramsey Lt. Governor of Tennessee
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
In all honesty if Ramsey did make a statement like that I'm sure he only stated what millions of Americans are already thinking. I mean they do call it Obama's Arab Spring. He had his hands in Egypt and a hand in the fall of Gaddafi in Syria and it was in Syria shortly there after that Benghazi fell in Syria. I wonder now when I think about it if the people at the consulate in Benghazi may have found something out and were not able to get it out because no one was sent in to rescue then or even try..........Sure makes one think huh!!!! My head hurts, I am over working my pea size brain here....... :squint: :squint: -
I would guess you are correct because gangsters don't register their guns to begin with and those are the ones doing all the killings.........jmho

Ron Ramsey Lt. Governor of Tennessee

I'm hoping they run the story again at 10 PM. I cannot find anything on their web site about it. I bet they killed the report because of all the controversy it was causing. -
One small step for gun owners and on giant step back wards for anti gun advocates. You can bet this is going to start a lot of elected officials sweating their re-election bids in 2014 mid term elections for sure. Will be interesting to see how tones change when primaries begin soon.

Did anyone hear about the statement made by Ron Ramsey in regards to the facts that Obama seems in many ways to be helping the Militants that are over throwing the Dictators in the Asian Countries knowing many of them are a part of the same factions of Al Quada that flew those planes struck the towers and Pentagon on 9/11 and that field in Pennsylvania. Ramsey said these are the people that Obama wants to help with giving arms and weapons to. From what I gather it drew a lot of flak from the Democrats real fast. I caught bits and pieces of it on news this evening on Channel 5 but didn't get to hear it all.....?????? Did any one else hear anything about it????

I made myself a promise when I climbed off my last flight back in 1974 on my way home from my time in Service that I would never fly again. Not because of the airlines flight but because of the time I spent in the air on a variety of different aircraft while deployed that I would never fly again and to this day I have not and have no plans to in the future........... :woohoo: :woohoo:

I think that day changed the lives of everyone in America old enough to understand what was happening......jmho

Ok I tried to watch it but fell asleep in recliner before it came on so had to stay up to see repeat of in on Fox. A speech that lasted 15.5 minutes that had several topics covered and none of it made any sense at all. Just a bunch of half truths and nothing made any sense. Now what I did see and what he did say was that in 1997 the entire earth of countries came together under the UN and except for 7 countries the rest of the world has said that the Use of Chemical and biological weapons would be band by every nation. That is a band of these weapons in over 178 countries including China, Russia and the rest of major world power players. So why is it that 178 countries have band the use of them are all not up in arms over the fact that they were used and why is it the only our POTUS is throwing a fit over it. Where is the other 177 other countries in the UN that agreed to this back in 1997? I agree that is was a shame that they were used and used in a country that did not agree with the rest in 1997 but in his speech he did not 100% prove that Assad and not the militants used the weapons. Assad's military leaders sending radio messages to his troops in that area does not prove he fired them. It proves that his military may have intercepted a message that Chemical weapons are going to be used and his troops need to have gas masks. In all probably the militants used the weapons just to try and drag the U.S. into it to help them...........jmho

Who watches TV the old fashioned way for free and not cable ?
bersaguy replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
A buddy of mine turned off his cable and put an antenna in his attic and he gets all kinds of channels. I have been kicking around the idea of turning mine off. He said he will put me up an antenna and I have two newer flat screen LED tv's so should not have an issue on that end. I also use Netflix for movies so except for History channel and Discovery Channel I won't miss much else. I also found out that the programs I enjoy like Swamp people, Mountain Men, Yukon Men and Gold Rush are all being put on video by the seasons so I will still be able to watch them as they release them on DVD. -
Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...?? WAY TOO COOL!!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home...I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what the burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a secone) and then thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself againist a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and Tazer in another. The directions said that: A one second burst would shock and disorient your assailant A two second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; and A three second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference (loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries) pretty cute really, and thinking to myself, "no possible way"!! What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best. I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side so as to say, "Don't do it stupid", reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad...I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and ..... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. WHAT THE ....!!!! I'm pretty sure Hulk Hogan ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs! The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note- If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a Tazer one note of caution: There is NO such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by violent thrashing about on the floor!! A three second burst would be considered conservative! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. *The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. *My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. *My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. *I had no control over the drooling. *Apparently I had crapped in my shorts, but was too numb to know for sure, and my sense of smell was gone. *I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head, which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my testicles and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return! My wife can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Deer processors use to be about every where but in last several years they seem to be getting harder and harder to find. Not sure if it has become a cost factor or a time factor but I just know less folks are doing it these days. Last deer i had processed cost me 80 bucks. Work was very good but a tad costly but he is not doing it any longer and he was here in Gallatin...............

Kerosene heaters. Any suggested brands?
bersaguy replied to Mark A's topic in Survival and Preparedness
About 4 years ago I had an issue with a kerosene heater and it ended my use of them. Kerosene prices have gone out of sight now also. I purchased a Sun Rite made by Mr Heater that fits directly on top of a 30lb bottle of Propane. It has a single burner on top and I tested it that winter when i got it and I live in a cabin that is 1050 Sq feet and it kept my house warm on a day when temps outside was 10 degrees above zero. Since them I have purchased 5 more 30lb tanks and will get another one this year. The tanks work on my gas grill also. I also found out that instead of exchanging tanks when one runs out I can get a 30lb bottle refilled at Tractor Supply for 10 bucks so I just keep them refilled that way. The only thing is says on the Mr Heater is to make sure there is adequate ventilation which is 3 windows open two or three inches in different parts of the house. I actually got it for emergencies in case of power outage because I heat with natural gas on central unit but blower does not work with power out. I am looking at buying a Coleman camper cook stove that operates on the 1 lb bottles just for emergencies if power goes out. Been planning on doing that for a couple years now and keep forgetting to get one but going to make a point of it this month. I already have 4 Coleman propane lanterns and 10 1 lb full bottles for them and extra mantles. I guess I'm trying to be a Boy Scout and trying to always be prepared..........    -

OK, I know no one else is going to say it......
bersaguy replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not so sure Hillary is as close to shoe in as many folks think. Back in 08 a Black President was actually a novelty and no one really thought he would get elected. They all got a surprise and in 2012 election it took rigging the election with getting people to vote several times and no one trying to stop it or even prosecuting the people that even told the news that they voted several times and still nothing happened to get him re-elected plus far to many Conservatives not going to the polls gave him the election. It has been investigated and proven that people that have been dead for over 100 years voted for Obama in last election. Anyone could win that kind of election. I don't think that will work again with Hillary. Also after trying something new like electing a Black man to the office I think or at least I hope and pray that the American people have learned enough to not experiment again and put a woman in the White House right now. I know ObamaCare is a train wreck coming and coming fast but as most can see he set it up for most of the worst part of the wreck to kick in after he leaves office. The right people put in place can still stop a lot of the damage if we can just get the right people in place in midterms in 2014 elections. If the Conservatives can keep the House and get enough seats in the Senate to strip Harry of his power then there is still a chance. If that happens Hillary may even decide not to run in 2016 because she would possibly be a Lame Duck her first two years..................jmho -
Thanks to the folks willing to step up and help and I bet there are a lot more that have not read the thread yet so if she does end up needing the Surgery send me your address and I will send funds to help. This is a very large site so I know dog lovers will step up and help.
-
Ok I am sending prayers for her to get well without the surgery but If it will get folks involved here on the site I will chip in the first $15.00 towards her surgery. If we have as many dog lovers he as I think we do and everyone gives something even just a few bucks we might be able to help cover most of the surgery cost. I mean she a Rescue Dog nd deserves nothing less then to be rescued...............jmho

So Hillary Clinton is the new President of the US?
bersaguy replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Lets face it folks, cannot anyone see that Obama struck a deal with Putin at that private little dinner they had to get this done to save face and his a$$ for his own stupid Red Line statement. That is why all of this is in play now and moving at light speed. It has to be done before the speech tomorrow by Obama. I have no clue what Obama promised Putin but you can bet it was big for sure...........JMHO -

I had to laugh a few years after i moved here and first put out a few feeders. I had been gone a week and when i got back the feeders were empty so I went out and got them and filled them with food from the fridge and as I was walking back out to hang them up I had one in each hand and two birds on each one drinking while was toting them back to hang them back up. I had to laugh about that for a few minutes. I think the climate changes are having some effect on them since they are a migratory bird and I think that the drought all over the west is making it harder for them to make the migration from Brazil and Latin America where they winter at back up to Maine, Canada and Nova Scotia where most of them summer. I know a great number of birds into the thousands spend all summer in Eureka Springs Arkansas each year because everyone in that town has at least a dozen feeders up on every house and tree in town. Been there to visit a few times and see thousands of birds there every time I go there. We should have birds here in middle Tennessee till at least end of September to mid October depending on the weather.........jmho
