Had a friend go through something almost similar but the girlfriend was a second wife of about 3 months and he had two children under age 21. It turned out that because neither son was even mentioned in the Will period they we able to contest it. When it got in court the Judge made the decision to divide the estate into 1/3 for each so they all got something. It was also a sizable estate. If the father would have mentioned both of them in the Will and left each of them 1 dollar they could not have contested it. It was because neither was even mentioned that they were able to contest it. My attorney told me about it while I was making my Will out too make sure I mentioned everyone I wanted so no one could contest my micro small estate.......................

Gosh!! Some real backbone being shown!!!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You may be right but I think this time for some reason Obama is not going to get his way and I hope he does shut down the Government with a Veto. That will furlough 100,000 Federal folks that thought he would protect them instead he is willing to throw them to the wolves. Wonder where his ratings will be after that since they have been slowly falling for last several months and if the Republicans cave they will not be hero's so I think they are looking at 2014 and what they can gain in the Senate.........jmho -
I am proud for them because it cost them little to have. It's not big enough for water cannon. Couldn't carry enough water, but a 37 MM anti Tank gun on it would be nice along with a mini-gun. As for the gangs and drugs. About a year ago I was asked a question of would I surrender my guns if the dictator to be passed a law requiring it. My reply was if they can disarm all the gangs in LA country, Chicago Illinois, New York city and Miami and prove to me that they were able to do that I might give them one of my guns. Way I got it figured it would take them at least 20 years just in L.A. and blood would fill the flood sewers in L.A. and they still would never get them all so I would not be worried about having to surrender my 1 gun.............jmho

Well He walks out of Tennessee without any warning which was a blessing. Gosh!!! Gets his Dream Job and destroys a great football program and gets fired. I don't think he is fit to coach a small town high school team and I am wondering how much longer his smoking hot wife will take to fire him and find a winner to associate herself with..................

I cannot believe how much backbone the Conservatives have come up with all of a sudden but they are taking it to Obama and Reid. Something I have really been noticing a lot recently. The Republicans are speaking in unison yet when it comes to the Senate Harry Reid is doing all the talking. He will always speak for the entire Senate about every bill coming to the Senate even before it arrives that it is dead on arrival. He is acting just like a Dictator and ordering the Senate on what they can and cannot do period. I sure wish some of the real Democrats would begin thinking for them selves and I think Corker and Alexander will vote for the bill the House sent and reject Harry Reid and Obama. Right now if the Country shuts down it's Harry Reid and Obama doing it and not the Republicans because the Republicans are doing only what the majority of the people in America are screaming at the top of their lungs to stop. I read last night that is the Government shuts down it will shut down Parks, White House tours again, and send 100,000 aids and none unessential personnel on furloughs. If they have that many unessential employees in Washington they need to get rid of about 75% of them permanently and down size the Federal Government payroll. I mean it was a democrat that called the people unessential. That is an open admission that these people are not needed....Like I said I'm sure glad that The House Speaker finally got his back bone out of his closet and put it on before going to work.............jmho

TheDrip and tnguy pretty much summed it up so I will elaborate more on my previous post. I have been renting this 2 bedroom cottage I live in with is part of a triplex with has a Duplex up in front of me. I have been living here almost 15 years. The people in the front two units have been here as long as I have or longer. We have a great landlord that has not raised our rent in over 7 years and the rent is affordable and all of us here live on Social Security. I'm sure they could get more for rent than they do but they have said they would rather have people living in their properties that will take care of their property and pay their rent on time. We all got a shock when we learned that one of the two had passed on and the lady was putting the property up for sale. That is scary to have learned because you never know what the new owners are going to expect. I have another place to go that I could have moved to 10 years ago which is a father in law house behind my daughters home that is setting empty just waiting till I move out there and I would not be paying any rent. It is just a little farther out in the country than I would like to live but at least I know I won't be living under a bridge someplace on the street. Good luck with that ever you decide for your future........

ok update on this post,. The reason I was asking anyone if they owned a Savage 93 22 mag WMR is I bought one about a month ago and I love the gun but was having serious magazine issues with it. i checked on line about them and there were a lot of posts about folks having similar issues with the magazines but no one ever said they were able to get their issues resolved. The guy I bought the gun from is a great guy and I have no issues at all with him. He had owned the gun about 4 years he said but had only shot it less than 50 times I think. He said he just never shot it so he sold it and I bought it. Now this is where it gets better. I wanted to buy a new magazine for it and Bass Pro Shop has them but I was afraid of buying what I already had was a defective mag. I had a buddy that is also a member here that actually told me about this site and is an FFl dealer contacted Savage Arms about my problem. They requested he send them the serial number and information off the gun and he did. Savage is sending me a new and improved magazine for the gun and they said I would have it ASAP N/C. They were aware they had Magazine issues in guns made from such and such a serial number to another and any of them that had not been replaced would still be replaced regardless how old the gun is as long as it falls within those serial numbers so anyone that may be having an issue that owns a 93 can contact Savage and get a new mag free. Just wanted to get this out and explain a little about what I was going through but all came out good.....

Long time getting Handgun Carry Permit Renew-Update
bersaguy replied to The Legion's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The people at the Gallatin DMV station seem to know the right buttons to push evidently. When I got my first one there it took 17 days and I had my photo card. A few buddies I know that went for theirs there got them in less than 30 days every time. Same with renewals. A lot faster. -
there are Pro's to it and Con's to it and I would look at ever aspect of it before I put my life savings into it..........jmho

Yep, he is delusional for sure but he has been since he got elected so this is nothing new. As far as putting armed Security officers in schools, not a bad idea. Just make sure you put the right kind of Security Officers in them. I have seen armed security officers that could not tell you which is the grip and which is the muzzle of a gun and the first gun shot and they would be outside looking in waiting for the real police to arrive. We already have 1000's of well trained men and women in our military that are unemployed. They are already trained, Many of them have college educations which would allow them to be counselors at the schools and many could be teachers. Some could even be custodians or work in cafeterias and still be armed and ready for any action necessary. They also know gun fire when they hear it regardless of surroundings. I have heard folks say they thought someone dropped something heavy and it made a loud bang and never realized it was gun fire. Military personnel don't have that problem. Plus a soldier is not going to run from gun fire but will run towards it. Why? Because he/she loves what is behind them( children) and hates what might be in front of him that needs to be stopped as fast as possible............jmho

Well, I asked him about an O/U Trap Grade 12 gauge F/F Belgium Browning I know he has with a the Pure Maple Wood that he bought back when he was 18 and I was 16. He gave $495.00 back in 1962 brand new and the gun is now valued in the collectible condition it is in at $6,500.00 and that is at the low end of the scale of the O/U's Browning guns he owns. I am planning on talking with him again the mid week coming. As far as the inventory goes he has every gun inventoried along with serial numbers models and all other notable items needed for insurance purposes. I am going to ask him this week what the replacement value is that was put on them by the insurance appraiser when he and 3 gun experts came out to prepare to put new insurance on them last year. That should at least give me a round number to look at. I'm betting they are insured at full replacement value if they had to be replaced which of course most of them could not be replaced. I'm glad he is moving out of that crappy state and wish he would come to Tennessee instead of Texas. I wish he would have made this move a long time ago. I'd like to go hunting with him one more time together. This guy back in his prime could shoot some clay birds. He was Illinois State Handicap Champion for 3 years. I watched him win it by running 500 straight dead clay birds over a 5 day shoot using a Pigeon Grade Winchester Model 12 Pump gun. Runner up hit 498. Man him and I sure have some memories together. We grew up hunting everything that had a season from Dove and Squirrel to Rabbit and everything in between if it was food related we hunted it...... :yum: :yum: :yum:

The main issue I see is the laws in Illinois and their gun issues and a sale of that size taking place in that state. I told him he may want to wait till he gets in Texas and just moved the guns in the vaults and then do the transaction in Texas. He said he would consider that option. Illinois has some really crazy gun laws. He said the reason he was thinking about selling them before moving it it will take one 26 foot U-haul truck just to move the vaults.

Buchanan said that same thing on Greta's show last night on Fox. He laid that whole plan out step by step and if they will just follow his lead in this they can dump the whole thing right back in Reid's lap and then Obama's lap if he veto's it and then it is the Democrats in all those red states that are scrambling to try and keep their jobs along with any rino Republicans stupid enough to follow them down the rabbit hole.............jmho

I just got off the phone with a buddy I grew up with that is somewhat of a collector on a few particular shotguns and has been buying them since we were kids. He told me something I thought I would never hear. He and his wife never had any children and they are getting ready to sell their home up in Illinois and they are taking a liitle beating on the sale but going to move south to some where around a place called May, Texas near some of her family. Anyway he is going to be down sizing his collection considerably and out of his 80 guns he has he is only keeping 10 and going to sell all the rest but is looking for 1 single buyer. Not willing to split it up or auction it off. What I can say right now is there is 40 Winchester Model 12 Pumps in all grades from Field to Skeet grades and gauges including 28 gauge Skeet grades The other brand is 30 Belgium Brownings . They consist of the O/U in all grades and gauges and Semi Automatic Hump Backs in all grades and gauges. The reason I am posting this is because I have no clue of anyone that would have the kind of funds on hand to buy a collection like that. I thought maybe someone here might have a clue to someone that would be in a position to at least talk to him about it. I can find out more about what he definitely wants to sell if I get some one that is truly interested...............

Most of the VFW's will have a few every year. Use to be back years ago they were anywhere you could park cars and had a place to set up targets.
